On Showcase last week's Lost Girl finale scored 269k viewers on Sunday @ 9 PM on Showcase while this week's Continuum season premiere did better with 375k in the same timeslot (about a 40% increases from Lost Girl's finale). Both shows are down from their previous seasons but still successful for Showcase.

Interesting!
ReplyDeleteGood to know too since I think Continuum is a better series with more long term potential.
269k? That is down, down from last year. I thought just US ratings were bad. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteGreat news. The premiere was fine, but season have a lot of potential.
ReplyDeleteCanadian cable ratings are way different. That's probably par for the course.
ReplyDeleteDo they count people differently? Because that's a drop of like 100,000 people since last year, which was way way down from the year before. And we're not talking about millions of viewers, 30%-40% seems like a pretty big drop.
ReplyDeletegood for Continuum
ReplyDeleteLost Girl is the better show but I'm glad Continuum is doing well. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Lost Girl but this season was on the awful side. It felt all over the place & had an abrupt end. I think they were counting on a longer season but didn't get the extra episode pick up because that finale was definitely rushed. Hope next season the writers keep it nice & tight & not waste episodes on stupid filler.
ReplyDeleteLast year had so much filler I got annoyed and when this season started off the same way I quit watching Lost Girl altogether.
ReplyDeleteI thought the series had serious potential when it started, but it seems like the showrunners are more interested in making it a show with more romantic entanglements than plot entanglements. Each year the overly simplistic stories and filler episodes get worse and just when you think something awesome could happen, it fizzles out in a rushed finale.
Sad that.
Love to have a source for this as BBM, who is the ratings agency here in Canada, hasn't publicy released the figures for this week yet.
ReplyDelete269k was Lost Girl's rating, Continuum did a solid 375k. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see I'm not the only one who gave up on Filler Girl.
ReplyDeleteI was talking about Lost Girl. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAh okay, didn't notice that. My bad. :)
ReplyDeleteI gave no indication save the number I could have been clearer, no worries.
ReplyDeleteAgreed; furthermore, it's the only (real) sci-fy (aside revolution, that has tints of) show after Fringe that I like - really don't know if there are others, though.
ReplyDeleteThis was track cause it's the seasons premiere, the ratings are always higher.
ReplyDeleteIf these ratings hold, then Continuum is a lock for a 3rd season!
ReplyDeleteSFX.co.uk is the origin of this item about the ratings for Continuum and Lost Girl and there is no attribute in that website for the source of where the numbers come from. Anyone who knows anything about overnight ratings for Canadian tv shows knows that the BBM system for calculating viewership in Canada is not identical to Nielsen’s national for the US. Francophone markets, for example, are measured independently from English language markets. If SpoilerTV is going to parrot another website it should at least have the courtesy to provide a link to that website — and if it cannot verify a report about a show’s ratings, it should state so.
ReplyDeleteFunny. They are not counting those who don't have cable and are watching online on Monday.
ReplyDeleteContinuum is great. lets hope they keep it!!
