TVLINE | What story were you wanting to tell with these last few episodes, leading into the season finale?
The last couple episodes are about how [Rick and Kate] have been in a relationship for about a year now, and that’s about the time people start asking questions, about where things stand. They’ve been living in this fun bubble, but there comes a time where real life intrudes and things come in from the outside and force the characters to ask questions about where they’re going. By the time we get to “The Human Factor” (airing May 6), those questions will start aiming us towards some complications that come in our final episode, challenges to the relationship that both characters are going to have to confront.
TVLINE | With “The Squab & the Quail” airing ahead of schedule last week, what did viewers miss out on not having seen “Still” first?
Not too much – and I will let them discover that. But there are a couple of really important relationship moments and serious moments in “Still.” As you know, that episode, the 24th episode, was added very late in the game, so we took a very particular point of view on how we were going to get it done. And it turned out, I think, in spectacular fashion. It’s a great gift to our loyal fans. There are a couple of moments in there that they have to look forward to, that they’ll really enjoy.

I am not totally caught up on the season yet (I am some episodes behind) and I have said multiples times before that Castle is overrated on this website, but I think this season has been awesome (so so so much better than season 4) and that Andew Marlowe has done a remarkable job of having Rick and Kate become a couple. Truly well done. I am looking forward a lot to the finale and to what they will put us through!
ReplyDeleteI'm not worried at all, just want to heard about season 6. But let me tell you that makes me sad hearing some people saying they will stop watching if Caskett break up! (it's an opinion, I know and respect)
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those who wants to stop watching if they break up, it's just because i can't see them apart now, season 5 was awesome and it'll be too much for my heart..........I was disapointed by Without a trace, House.......so i can't leave another breaking up, i know it's a TV Show but it's become a part of our lives.
ReplyDeleteYou will not hear much about season 6 until they start to release dribs and drabs in late July when they start shooting again. That is if they renew, but of course of we all know ABC will!
ReplyDeleteI know lol I was talking about the renewal, my mistake ;)
ReplyDeleteOops! Haha! ;)
ReplyDeleteMeh. Nothing new here...
ReplyDeletesame old same things we ve been reading for awhile now. the finale is emotional . check focused on B/C check cliffhanger check. nothing new so far.
ReplyDeleteI have faith in Marlowe that he won't break Castle and Beckett up, there are more clever ways to complicate their relationship. :)
ReplyDeleteWe all know they will live happily ever after. The only faith i have in him is knowing they will always wind up together..this is his bread and butter,so for me its not a question of faith, its him having no choice but to give the fans a happy ending....(not that its wrong,oh i know i'm going to get slammed for this).
ReplyDeleteUgh! I had my fill of stupid relationship drama on Psych with Shawn & Jules, and now that they are on their road to reconciliation i have to put up with it on Castle as well! Oh well at least i don't really ship Castle & Beckett so i don't really care whether they break up or not. I am willing to bet that they do break them up though. Maybe not directly in the finale but i think that they will definitely split up at some point next season, probably early on. And those of you that are trying desperately to convince yourselves that they won't break them up at some point are in for a big disappointment.
ReplyDeleteThis season hasn't been nearly as bad as S4, which was mostly dreadful, but it hasn't been great either. So many fantastic possibilities just wasted, and like last year, the mid-season was just a long series of forgettable eps in which nothing really happened. Still, I like Castle and Beckett together and when it has been good, like the 100th ep, it's been marvelous. It's just a shame something like that gets followed with some piece of dreadful cliched crap like Squab.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Marlowe would be stupid enough to permanently break them up, though I might check out till they're back together, since the cases themselves aren't interesting enough to keep me watching. But if he knocks Beckett up as next year's so-important-it's-never-seen arc, I'm absolutely gone. I can't think of anything that would kill the show deader than that.
