Things get very intense on tonight’s episode of BONES, as the lab does its best to prevent a viral outbreak.

“Tonight’s a very big episode of BONES,” executive producer Stephen Nathan teased. “I have to say, I unequivocally love tonight’s episode. And the finale. They’re both just among our favorites. They’re just so good…We’re happy with this year.”

And with “The Pathos in the Pathogens” — which just happens to be the penultimate episode of season 8 — the Jeffersonian not only has to solve a crime, but they have to focus on keeping themselves safe as well.

“It starts out very dangerous,” he shared. “And because everyone is so good at their jobs, everyone then feels like they have the situation well in hand, and then it spirals out of control in a way that no one could ever have foreseen. So it’s sort of like [the show] 24 at its most tense. And what we’ve tried to do is couple that with an incredibly emotional story, which really drives the whole episode home. And it does alter everyone. This episode really sets us up for the finale. It gets everybody in a kind of vulnerable position so the heightened jeopardy in the finale forces everyone to reexamine their own lives and what’s important to them.”
