HEROES ARE FORGED AND SACRIFICES MADE IN THIS EPIC SEASON FINALE — Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) race to stop the Dark Archer (John Barrowman) from unleashing his vengeance on The Glades. However, they run into a roadblock after Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) picks up Felicity for questioning. Tommy (Colin Donnell) and Oliver’s already tumultuous relationship takes a turn for the worse after Oliver makes a confession about Laurel (Katie Cassidy). After hearing of the danger in The Glades, Thea (Willa Holland) races to find Roy (Colton Haynes), inadvertently putting herself directly in the line of fire for Malcolm’s (John Barrowman) devious plan. On the island, Oliver, Slade (Manu Bennett) and Shado (guest star Celina Jade) are locked in a life-or-death struggle against Fyers (guest star Sebastian Dunn) as his missiles lock on a full Ferris Air jetliner. Susanna Thompson also stars. David Barrett directed the episode with the teleplay written by Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg and story by Greg Berlanti (#123).

ReplyDeleteAaargh. Why must Lance be such a dick?
- Tommy (Colin Donnell) and Oliver’s already tumultuous relationship takes a turn for the worse after Oliver makes a confession about Laurel (Katie Cassidy).
Tommy is not Oliver's friend anymore. He needs to stop telling Tommy anything personal whatsoever and definitely don't tell him anything incriminating. Be polite, make small talk, say nothing important.
Am I the only one kinda hoping it's Tommy who dies, so that event triggers Laurel turning into the black canary? I really don't want her to lose her father, since she already lost her sister. And yes, I know Detective Lance isn't the mmost amicable character, but I love Paul Blackthorne, so I've no problem puting up with him, lol.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Ollie shut up! you want to confide in someone? talk to Diggle or Felicity, but not your former best friend who's dating your exgirlfriend... specially if the topic of the conversation is said ex...
SPOILERY: Apparently a main character dies before the finale, and everyone is in it apart from Moira...
ReplyDeletei have a feeling it'll be Thea
ReplyDeleteNo, you're not the only one. I too hope they kill Tommy and keep Malcolm. It'll be more real to see Malcolm trying to revenge Oliver for his son's death than to see Tommy suddenly capable of fighting Oliver.
ReplyDeleteThe "Susanna Thompson also stars" makes me think that if any regular dies during episode 1.22, that's Moira. If Moira is killed an episode before, I can't see them killing Thea too. I don't think they will leave Oliver family-less.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Oliver and Diggle are working back together again, and I wonder who tells Thea about the danger in the Glades.
If they keep Quentin around for season 2, I think he'll eventually join the Arrow team after finding he can't fight the corruption in the police force.
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice but I honestly don't mind that he's not on board with the whole vigilante thing. It just that his douchey attitude drives me nuts sometimes. Don't get me wrong though. I like the character. He's one of those "love to hate the guy" characters for me.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the show would be brutal enough to kill off a teenage girl!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not Thea
ReplyDeleteThat what it sounds like to me too but I would rather it be tommy
ReplyDeleteIt is obvious they are going to go the Tommy turning to the dark-side route. They have planted too many seeds and set too many parallels between he and Oliver now for them to just kill him off. As much as people are seemingly against it, I don't see anything but that happening. As far as him being capable of fighting Oliver, why do you think they made a point of Malcolm telling him where he received all his training and guidance. Tommy's cliffhanger will obviously be him heading for Nanda Parbat.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be Thea. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if she finds out about the secret by the end of the series. Moira will be the one to die, followed by Malcolm, leaving both Oliver and Tommy with even more angst and parallels between them and setting them up as full-blown nemesis.
ReplyDeleteI
ReplyDeleteknow you're right, I've seen it looming in the horizon, just like everyone
else, for a while now, but I've chose denile. Yup, I'm sailing across that
river in Egypt trying to convince myself that the writers are going to come up
with a storyline of their own, instead of borrowing from Spiderman. And there's
also the fact, at least it's a fact for me, that Barrowman makes such a great
dark archer, that I can't see Tommy measuring up in a million years.
Oh well, like you said, the writers intentions are
quite obvious, so I'll just stay in lalaland until it hits me in the face.
Tommy comes off as too weak and self-centered and not bright enough to take down Oliver. How would Tommy suddenly learn how to fight and how will he start killing people when he's so against it? After all we learnt about Tommy this season, I just can't see him as a real threat.
ReplyDeleteBut if Ollie is forced to kill his father is not as far fetched, is it? besides, Malcolm told him where his was trained, if B.I. Ollie could turn into the hood, so can Tommy. I may not like it, and I'm definitely hoping the writers don't rehash a story that's been told a million times before, but it certainly looks thats where they're heading.
ReplyDeleteThe difference between Tommy and Malcolm\Oliver is that Tommy will train in the present, and I think it'll be quite boring to jump to a few scenes of Tommy training without him having contact with any of the other characters. Especially when we'll see Oliver training too in the island flashbacks at the same time. Seeing both of them train would be redundent, and seeing Tommy suddently able to be a worthy match to Oliver without seeing him training would be far-fetched. I think they have a catch 22 here if they keep him.
ReplyDeleteI've seen writers do more redundant things than that. But like I said, I'm hoping they won't go that way, so I'll just wait and see. Maybe we're lucky, and they spare us of the pain, lol.
ReplyDeleteColin announced he is going to appear in a shakespeare play in NY at July-August. They start filming in July. hmm..
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll miss the first few episodes and they'll chuck it up to the training he was going through to fill his father's shoes? Or maybe he is the loss...
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for us, it's most likely the former one...
I'll still keep hoping it's the 2nd option until the finale airs :)
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, so am I ;)
ReplyDeleteHehe, Ferris Air
ReplyDeleteITA. Besides, I still like Tommy, I don't want them to turn him into a Harry Osborn, and eventually kill him anyway to redeem him. And I would love for them to kickstart the Black Canary storyline.
