"Darkness on the Edge of Town"

CAN OLIVER OUTWIT OR OUTFIGHT THE DARK ARCHER TO SAVE THE CITY? - With the Undertaking days away, Malcolm (guest star John Barrowman) dons his black hood to conclude business with seismologist Dr. Brion Markov (guest star Eric Floyd) and his team. Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Moira (Susanna Thompson) entertain a number of surprise - and mostly unwelcome - visitors. Hooded confrontations at home and the Meryln Global Group reveal dark secrets. Meanwhile, Roy (guest star Colton Haynes) and Thea (Willa Holland) are still looking out for a hero. Laurel (Katie Cassidy) makes a decision after Tommy's (Colin Donnell) revelation. In a flashback to the island, Oliver, Slade (guest star Manu Bennett) and Shado (guest star Celina Jade) struggle to prevent Fyers (guest star Sebastian Dunn) from shooting a Ferris Air jet out of the sky. Paul Blackthorne and David Ramsey also star. Roger Cross and Bryon Mann also guest star. John Behring directed the episode written by Drew Z. Greenberg & Wendy Mericle (#122).

  2. Ha! Malcolm's death is an inevitability. It's just a matter of when. If he's not a corpse by the end of the season finale I'll be very surprised.

  3. There's a lot of stuff going on in just this one episode. It seems very chaotic to say the least.

  4. Ferris Air - Green Lantern reference

  5. lol I like that they've been subtly injecting all these DC universe references in... ie. Laurel's mother said that she was going to catch a flight back to Central City, and that she'd be there in a "flash"... lol

Another DC comics reference is Brion Markov aka the Prince of Markovia and the superhero known as Geo-Force.

  7. Damn CW, too much information? A seismologist. So the Undertaking's plan envolves an earth quake to take down the Glades and rebuild it.

If Oliver and Moira are working together then Moira will be killed at the season finale.

  8. And just because of that I hope he makes it to season two, as it would be taking the unexpected route.

  9. I think most present stuff are related to the same storyline this time, so it seems less crowded to me than some previous episodes.

  10. Trying to tie all of those different characters into the same storylines before the finale is exactly what will make it chaotic. It makes for lots of edits, short scenes, jumping from place to place and person to person.

  11. I wonder if we also see Brions sister Tara Markov, in the Teen Titans comics she worked for Deathstroke. ;)

  12. No more chaotic than all those different characters included in the same episode revolving multiple storylines..

  13. Captain Harkness can't die!! *curling, too*

  14. Except all those characters are never involved all at once like they will be here.

  15. Actually episode 1.18 included all cast members and more guest stars than listed here, and this is just one example.

  16. Yes, they appeared in the episode but this synopsis is suggesting that all these people have integral roles in the various plots of the episode and not just minor screen time or cameo appearances. Totally different situation.
