It's exactly this duality I like about her. Claire does such a great job showing us both sites of Rebekah. Elena, Becca and Katerina? Well … I'm glad I'm not there. I wouldn't like to get in the line of fire. I already said it, but I don't think she'll be happy as human. It's been 1000 years since she was human. She doesn't know anymore what it means to be human. Getting old, sick, die, … Well, I guess that's the part she gets and accepts. But she doesn't get the other parts of her vampire life she's gonna miss. She's used on getting what she wants thru compelling and killing. It's normal to her, like breathing. None of this will be possible if she's human. And for now she's fearless. She's not afraid to get shoot by a robber or hit by a car. None of this could hurt her now. But it can kill a human. So, I think, that even if she would take the cure, it wouldn't be long till she would want to be a vampire again. But I admire that she's even considering it. Unlike other vamps like Klaus and Damon.
"I already said it, but I don't think she'll be happy as human." I don't believe she'll be happy as a human either. Bex has convinced herself that being a vampire is the reason she's so miserable, but it's not. It's Rebecca's self-destructive choices and being chained to a very dysfunctional family for centuries that have been making her miserable.
Agree. Klaus was treating her like shit, like a slave. She probably thinks her life would be better if she's human. That it would separate her from her mistreating brother and set her free. A new life with a new future. And I also think, that Klaus would never let her go. As much as he hates his family, he's also possessed with his family. They have to do as he pleases. So, I think, that maybe Klaus would even go so far and turn her again if she becomes human. Just my theory. Some people think that he would ignore her, like she's dead. That's possible too, but they were close as humans and she was always with him (except the times when he put her in a coffin). That is why I think he wouldn't let her go that easily.
If you now think that he already let her go since they are separated for the entire S4. Well, yes. But I think he's waiting for her to come back to him. She did before and he's expecting her to do it again. But if she would become human, the separation would be final and I think he wouldn't let that happen.
It's not just Klaus that's the problem with her family. It's the rest of them too. Her other brothers have made a habit of disappearing on her and leaving her alone with Klaus which has reinforced her abandonment issues. On top of that, she had been running from her father for centuries and her mother cheated death with the sole purpose of killing Rebekah and the rest of her children.
Rebekah doesn't need to take the cure, she needs a really good therapist.
Well, true. All her siblings let her down. But Klaus is the problem child. He started it. He divided the family. In the 1920's flashback, didn't Becca said something like there are two sides and she choose the right one? Well, if you weren't on Klaus side, you were against him. And in that case he was hunting you. Thru the centuries all brothers have left Klaus. And with that they left Becca to his mercy (like he knows what that word means). I can't blame Esther and Mikael for trying to kill them all. Klaus killed his mother, of course dad was pissed and wanted his head. And Esther … She was 1000 years on the other side, watching with disgust what her children have become. The perfect example of a loving and caring family. And I thought my family was a nightmare …
"Rebekah doesn't need to take the cure, she needs a really good therapist." Well, that's a comment that works for the entire family. They all would need several centuries on the couch. That is why I'm so excited about this psychology student in Originals. And I think they should turn her. First off, they will really need centuries in therapy, second, it might be safer for her if she weren't a human. Although, Klaus killed 12 hybrids without even sweating, so it shouldn't make a difference if she's human or vampire.
"That is why I'm so excited about this psychology student in Originals. And I think they should turn her." I like the psychology aspect but I'm not sure about the turning part. Her whole shtick is that she wants to study human darkness and evil and she's probably not going to want to do any of that if she's turned. We haven't run into too many scholarly vampires on TVD. There was one techie vampire with a handful of degrees but Elijah killed him off.
I know that they probably won't turn her. I was thinking of it as a precaution. Like: She might live longer around vamps if she's not a vulnerable human. But then again, she'll be hanging around with Klaus, so it actually really doesn't matter what she is.
I can't wait to see her with Klaus. To tell you the truth, it's the only reason I'll watch Originals. They are gonna be the most perfect couple in history of TV. He's the personification of evil, so the perfect study object for her. And she should be the perfect therapist for him, knowing about him and being attracted to his darkness. And we all know he's in desperate need of a therapy. Oh, another reason to turn her. His therapy will take centuries, not only decades. Monk was in therapy for years, maybe decades, and it didn't help. And he wasn't even a psycho.
She's looking for the reason, why someone is evil. The causes, the consequences, … Who would be a better study object than Klaus? It's only logical that she would now about him (what he is) and that she would be attracted to his dark side, since it's what she was looking for. 1000 years of killing for pleasure or fun. Or cause he was bored.
You know many psych majors? Well, I know just one. She's not as annoying as some other people (she never tried to analyse me). But she knows how the break a heart. My best friends brother was with her for like a year. Now she dumped him. She broke his heart. Poor guy. He was never before in love. He cracked. Well, when my friend told me, all I could think of was "This would be so great for the Klaus/Psych storyline."

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't go that far. She's just a student. Psych majors tend to be more annoying than useful.
