1. i really like this new elna - she's badass and takes what she wants - NICE! can't wait to see her working with rebekka in the next episode ;) 2. last week i was wondering who has to die in the 3rd ritual - today i couldn't believe that witches were the 3rd part and i was totally shocked that their were killed in the same episode by CAROLINE! 3. did i got this right, silas can read someones mind? 4. why doesn't klaus died after he was stabbed with the white oak stake? why doesn't it affected silas and what happens now with the top of the stake in klaus body??
the witch is back, so welcome plot development <33333333 Loved all the bits about Bonnie and the mythology.. I was surprised by the witches sacrifice too .. even so on the hands of Caroline.. WOW! and speaking of Care, who sees the beauty of Klaroline? it's like another Delena .. all they do is manipulate each other and his harsh nature doesn't excuse all the nasty remarks he's used with her all the season :( the girl deserves way better..
And Bonnie, you poor soul .. I think there's more to her story than just losing her memory. And now Silas will be able to drop the vile, would Silas be after Katherine and Elena for the cure now? I hope Bonnie gets her brains back and kicks his sorry a** to hell..
Lastly, Damon ... I think the guy finally gave up his obsession with Elena (or I hope) 'coz the relationship looks DOOMED from my POV.
Overall, fun and very entertaining .. this season's episodes could be so much more intense IF it was more consistent with its core stories instead of the love-triangle deviations ...
NY was so fun! Wait. Damon is using the same trick since the 70's? Doesn't it get boring? "You can't hate me for driving him away" "Oh, I can. And I do" Well, if that is so I hope she won't be sleeping with him in the next ep. Jeese. If there is a God, don't let Caroline sleep with Klaus. "An original hybrid who can't die might come in handy" Cool. And so true. And so lucky that they had the same goal. Stopping Silas. How stupid can Bonnie get? She knows it's Silas? New it all the time? How can she let him manipulate her? Well, I give her one point. If he has such a strong hold on her, no wonder she wasn't having second thoughts about killing 12 people and bringing back all the supernatural creatures on the other side. Although I don't get it completely. She couldn't remember, like he possessed her. Would make sense. But if that's true, why did he need to persuade her? On the island he needed the whole day to talk her into it. And even after they came back he was talking her into it every day. So, which one is it? Does he control her or not? Can't JP just make up her mind? Congratulation Caroline, you stupid bitch. She did exactly what she came for to prevent. Silas is very grateful and pleased with her. I get that Bonnie is (or was) her friend. But saving her and letting 12 other die? Not to mention the innocents that the sups will kill if Bonnie completes the ritual. But to tell the truth, I don't know what I would have done. Kill innocent people and helping Silas destroy the world or let them kill my friend. Option 3: Turning Bonnie. She wouldn't be a witch and of no use for Silas. And the 12 witches wouldn't have to die either. She would hate me for it, but she would be alive. Damon and Lexi? Does Stefan know? They forgot to tell how she got off the roof. Sorry to disappoint you Damon, but you didn't invent the trick of using sex and temptation. Katerina did that trick centuries before he was even born. Wow. Shane is way stronger than Klaus. Well, if a part of the stake is still in his back, it explains the pictures of Klaus and Caroline for the next ep. Love Elenas new hairstyle. Elena! In public? Again? Elena and Becca were so cool together. Stealing Damons car? Awesome.
I partly like the new Elena. She kicks ass, takes what she wants, … But she's reckless. It's dangerous. Someday she might kill someone she cares about. And when her humanity is back on, … Damon is right. Someday her humanity will be back. And all the things she does now will be coming back and bite her in the ass. If Silas is so powerful I don't wanna know what he's capable off. For now he's focused on the cure and the ritual. For now Silas is not their enemy (not from his point of view). What happens, if they destroy the cure? Or if Bonnie gives up on expression? Guess Silas missed the heart. That was awesome. Finally someone who can put Klaus into his place. Guess Klaus is not as almighty as he likes to think. That is why I always enjoy it if he gets his ass kicked. Can't wait either!
I don't usually get hang up on inconsistencies and plot holes, but holy crap...
So Sylas just broke the indestructible white oak stake.... inside Klaus.. with ease. Because f*ck logic, physics and consistent story telling. Also, I get the fact that a single vamp can't take on a buffed up which, or 12, but couldn't they just take the bloody knife away? You know, seeing as how they were 3 against that single witch who probably does not have supernatural reflexes... Clearly thinking on their feet is not their strongsuit.
Thank god Nina Dobrev is as attractive as she is, otherwise these things would get significantly more annoying over time.
I'm just getting sick of Bonnie. She got so stupid and weak since S1. JP is totally ruining her character. NO!!! You can't compare Damon and Elena to Klaus and Caroline. Why won't no one get this?!?!? Damon and Klaus are totally different. Even Damon without humanity wasn't as bad as Klaus is, and he has his humanity (or sometimes it seems so), otherwise he wouldn't be running after Caroline like a lovesick puppy (or he would just compel her to sleep with him). And the most important part is, that Damon CHANGED!!!!!!!! Klaus didn't. He can never change. He was, is and will always be a psychopath. The relationship between Damon and Elena is breaking, because she turned off her humanity. Once she turns it back on, I have no doubt she'll be with Damon again. Unless, JP uses this to get Elena back with Stefan. Which I have no doubt she'll try.
Well, welcome to the club! Glad I'm not the only one finding holes of the size of Grand Canyon in the logic on this show. Destroying the indestructible stake with ease is one of them. The withes fought off Stefan with no problem. But they let Caroline come into the circle and kill them? You watch because of Nina? Well, I watch cause I liked the show in S1 and 2. S3 was horrible. S4 is better. But if Caroline sleeps with Klaus … Let's just say I'm willing to ignore the other mistakes and lacks of logic, but this would take it too far.
Playing dead to lure victims, neck snapping, Rebecca showing up unexpectedly and being annoying - all of this was old by the second time they used it in a plot and yet it's in every freaking episode now. There are so many things about the show that irritate me now - and I used to love it so much back when it was only one or two seasons old. They killed off the best characters and the remaining ones are only shells of what they used to be. Stefan the rational one, Damon snarky and Elena not listening to other people's advice - in season one they were so much more complex than that! Why can't the producers see how bad the show has gotten? I know that it gets amazing ratings but with so many promising pilots coming in september they should really up their game.
well, that's because JP and Co. has turned her into their little plot device to use when they get stuck on some writer's block. So, to a degree, I agree about Bonnie .. but she IS the plot this season & I am happy whenever she's on we get some story development ..
ok! maybe comparing the two was not accurate but I mean at this point on the show both relationships are not working.. more so about Klaus/Caroline frankly! And I am loving the change Damon has undergone this season .. very promising!
I like Klaus, but yeah, he is there too long and they need to focus on something else than Originals. Fortunately they have their own show and won´t be missed :)
They didn't need to turn Bonnie into this just to make her a "plot device", as you put it. And it already started in S2 (long before they started developing the idea of Silas. I think). She let this guy and his dad manipulate her. She used magic when it was already too late (like when she brought Elena back from the dead. Why didn't she used magic to capture Klaus and prevent the ritual?). In S3 she cooperated with Klaus, but refused to help her friends. Since the beginning, when we learned about Mikael, it was clear how Klaus can be dealt with, but she waited till the end to put him in the coffin. And then she released him, without trapping Ty inside a boundary to prevent Klaus from running free. She just released him on Elena.
And it might sound harsh, but the writers and producers can't blame anyone but themselves, if they write themselves against the wall. They are desperately looking for a solution, for a way out. Then some things make no sense, they destroy good characters (like hooking up Caroline with Klaus?) but no one cares. And if you ask me, Originals is just a way to get rid of the original family. JP loves Klaus too much to let him die or just let him go. That is why I think she developed a new show, cause she realized that she can't force Klaus and the others on us. I mean, how convenient, that just when Klaus wants to leave town (and probably the show) cause Elena is a vampire, a cure shows up.
Well, I get what you meant. In S3 I too hoped Klaus and Caroline could be like Damon and Elena. That she could bring out the good in him, encourage him to change, evolve. But I was disappointed so often with him, that I gave it up. He didn't want to change. For him it's just easier to kill, dagger or compel everyone. As long as he doesn't find the courage and strength to change, no one can force him into changing. That is the difference between him and Damon. Damon found it. He changed. True, in the beginning he did it for Elena. But soon this became part of him. He didn't care that the others hated him (and showed it). Elena approved and supported him and it was all he wanted and needed. Klaus wants everyone to love and worship him. To fear him.
I hate Klaus. But I really enjoy Josephs performance. This show has some of the best actors I've seen in a long time.
Absolutely agree. That's what I'm telling for the last year. The original family came, they did what they had to, were great, but it's time to go. Time to close the chapter and begin a new one.
And as for Originals. I just posted (not for the first time), that I think, Originals is just a way for JP to continue with the family. She loves Klaus too much as to let him die or leave. When he left after S2 he had to come back for Elenas blood. Then they tried to kill him hundred times, just so JP has a reason for Klaus being in MF. She connects his life to the life of all vamps in his bloodline, so he can't be killed. When Elena turned into a vampire and he wanted to leave, a cure showed up. And I think she finally realized that she can't force him to stay forever, meaning changing rules and adjusting the story so she can justify him on the show. I can be wrong, but I think that's the reason she developed Originals. Don't get me wrong, it can be interesting. 1000 years of history. But developing the show … That was (I think) just a solution for TVD and Klaus.
You mean she's pretending that she didn't know what happened? Interesting. I never thought of that.
Well, if she's playing the part to prevent that they would stop her (from completing the ritual. The triangle is complete, but Bonnie still needs to do the spell, right?), it would make sense. If they think she's the old Bonnie again, they won't be watching her so closely. I guess we'll get to see it in the next ep.
I don´t know what to think about Bonnie anymore, she is one big surprise all the time. She could pretend or that ritual was too strong and did something to her memory.
Could be. Maybe it worked after all and she's free form Shanes/Silas influence. That would too explain why she can't remember anything after finding Silas.
Don't take me wrong, I like the show quite a bit, but when these glaring plotholes start to become annoying I tend to focus on the more pleasant stuff, such as the fairly well rounded cast.
I can only agree with you. The show lost on quality since S1. It's what I'm telling for a year now. Compared to S3, S4 lacks more of logic. But at least they are not repeating themselves all the time like in S3 (the attempts to kill Klaus). The story is more complex. But the characters lost on quality. Especially Bonnie and Caroline. Well, I suggested to fire JP and get Joss (Whedon), but no one is listening.
What is happening this season!?!? I was rooting for people to be mean to Caroline. Elena wasn't acting "rational" she was just being a contrary brat. And I feel like we've seen the same plot tropes so many times: Bonnie gets manipulated. Damon gets double-crossed. Everybody is mean to the originals and then needs their help. Stefan is sanctimonious Damon does what he wants which should be a good idea and then it backfires. Big bad threatens other bads into helping him/her when there is no reason that they couldn't do it themselves and cut out an agenda-driven middle man.
Okay, SIlas can control witches, read minds, appear at will, and take any form he wants to. Why doesn't he just find Katherine himself? Wouldn't that be easier?
They are creating the originals because there alot of fans who love them. I love them. I love VD also. It is fascinating. The history of the originals. The actor does a great job creating a vampire who is so old with history. And I love how our Vampires on VD kill people and create excuses for why they do it. Yet, they hate other vampires for doing it also. It is intriguing and I am so looking forward to how the Julie is going to bring resolution to the fact these vampires have to quit judging other vampires. Just like on Twilight the Cullens didn't force their beliefs on other vampires.
I get what you mean. I like the family too. Well, liked them. They kinda got annoying.
And you're probably right. Originals could be interesting. 1000 years of original history. That is why I kinda thought it would be prequel. It won't be. So I hope, we have lots of flashbacks (like in Highlander, Raven Forever Knight, …).
I just said, that it seems to me like she developed the show as a solution. She did everything to keep Klaus and his family on TVD (sometimes it's obvious they're forced on the show), but it didn't work out.
it was a really good episode i really like it but i was really confuse because was bonnie in the woods all this time and never came back or somthing happen maybe they erase her memeroy
So basically, this episode made me ship Elena x Rebekah hardcore. Even though Elena has no emotions. Er, yeah. On the other hand, it does make me stupidly excited for next week, where I will get to see the two lovelies rise out on an awesome car-trip and hurl Katherine into a world of pain. Although, since this is Katherine we're talking about, one can never count her out of the running for long...
Also I now ship Klaus x whatever-pointy-bit-of-white-ash-Silas-may-have-in-his-hand. It's the ultimate OTP.
This was such a boring episode but the last scene was the best!!Team Silas!I don't know if that was real or a hallucination but it was def my favorite scene!I thought Klaus's original vamp side was going to die and he would become an ordinary werewolf! #payback
Well, the network and the producers are making a show about the Originals now that there are only 3 of them left instead of doing it last year which would have made more sense,so logic is not their strong suit!Unless of course they're doing the spinoff now because Silas or Bonnie or whoever is going to bring the dead Originals back, but that seems unlikely!
The way I see it is the indestructible stake wasn't so indestructible as thought. Esther could have been mistaken. I mean, It is kind of silly to think it was absolutely indestructible anyway. Kind of like "The Titanic is unsinkable" or in a fictional context, in Chrono Trigger when Masamune was said to be indestructible.
"Logic is not their strong suit" So true. But don't give up. Caroline completed the triangle and if Bonnie completes the ritual, we get them all back. The family and a couple millions of other vamps and wolves. I wish I could say it sounds like fun. But that would be a lie.
Remember Mikael? When he died, the stake burned with him. That is why Esther used the ring on the stake. So Alaric could kill all originals, one after another, with it. And it worked. It wasn't damaged when Ric (almost) killed Klaus and it wasn’t damaged when Jeremy killed Kol. Was that it? Or did the stake killed more originals?
And you can't compare the Titanic to a magical stake. That was the captains fault. And sorry, I never heard of "Chrono Trigger". But you can fill me in, if you want to. I'm always open to new things.
No no. I know what it was for. I'm just saying maybe it wasn't entirely indestructible. In that by conventional purposes it was indestructible. At least, I'd hope this is the explanation rather than a plot hole. I mean the writers seem to remember it doesn't burn up so.
Chrono Trigger is a very old game from the SNES system. My point is that even a knowledgeable source may make a mistake or not account for something. Esther would have never thought Silas would come back for example. And it was stated that every spell has a loophole. Silas is also stronger than Alaric was I'd imagine too. Either that or Klaus's back is as durable as Curly's head from the three stooges lol.
Maybe it was just fireproofed. But then again: why none of the originals destroyed it? Kol had it. And Becca had it. If you now think "They probably kept it just in case they have to kill their siblings (namely Klaus)", I thought that too. But weren't they afraid Klaus (or someone else) could use it against them? As Jer did. If it would be that easy to destroy the stake, someone would have destroyed it.
"Every spell has a loophole" So true. But in that case she just combined the magic of the ring with the stake, didn't she? Well, I have no idea how it worked. That is one of the problems on the show. They rarely explain things. And even if they explain something, they later often change the rules. It seem to me like there are no clear rules, like they improvise.
I dunno. I kind of wondered why Kol kept the stake under his jacket. That seemed really stupid and served the purpose of making sure he could die. And he was the guy being the most rational at the time with the whole "Don't try to bring back an immortal that could kill everyone and end the entire world.". I have no idea how it works either. I imagine if it could be broken either Silas is strong enough to break it on someone and the originals aren't or they didn't break it for plot reasons.
Like for example, Alaric in season 3 could have taken the rings off Stefan and Damon and been fine walking in the sun. But for some reason he didn't. And it wasn't like he didn't know about it. I imagine it's plot reasons. Or as most call it Plot Induced Stupidity.
"Seemed really stupid and served the purpose of making sure he could die" Exactly. Some things make no sense. If it would be me, I would destroy it, or get rid of it somehow. Maybe Kol kept it in case Klaus would attack him. Don't forget, the daggers don't work on him. True, when it comes to Silas, Kol was the rational one. It doesn't matter, how strong he is or isn't. Either, the stake was indestructible or not. Apparently not.
The sun rings are not transferable. As it seems. Remember S1. When Lexie asked Stefan to give her the ring (she offered him a ring from the 60's or 70's), he said it doesn't work like this. Apparently the rings have to be made specially for each vampire. Or they were just created so that only one vampire can use him (which makes no sense – from the magical perspective). So Rick couldn't use one of the active sun rings.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Quite good.

ReplyDeleteFor me 100% better than last week, this one kept me entertained the whole way. Good line and great acting from all.

ReplyDeleteCould be. Maybe it worked after all and she's free form Shanes/Silas influence. That would too explain why she can't remember anything after finding Silas.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, we'll see.
Don't take me wrong, I like the show quite a bit, but when these glaring plotholes start to become annoying I tend to focus on the more pleasant stuff, such as the fairly well rounded cast.
ReplyDeleteI can only agree with you. The show lost on quality since S1. It's what I'm telling for a year now.
ReplyDeleteCompared to S3, S4 lacks more of logic.
ReplyDeleteOkay, SIlas can control witches, read minds, appear at will, and take any form he wants to. Why doesn't he just find Katherine himself? Wouldn't that be easier?
she just had to wait until night.
ReplyDeleteThey are creating the originals because there alot of fans who love them.
ReplyDeleteI get what you mean. I like the family too. Well, liked them. They kinda got annoying.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're probably right.
ReplyDeleteSo basically, this episode made me ship Elena x Rebekah hardcore.
ReplyDeleteAlso I now ship Klaus x whatever-pointy-bit-of-white-ash-Silas-may-have-in-his-hand. It's the ultimate OTP.
The best episode of season 4 for me. Although I didn't see any point in the flashback to New York.
ReplyDeleteThis was such a boring episode but the last scene was the best!!Team Silas!I don't know if that was real or a hallucination but it was def my favorite scene!I thought Klaus's original vamp side was going to die and he would become an ordinary werewolf! #payback
ReplyDeleteWell, the network and the producers are making a show about the Originals now that there are only 3 of them left instead of doing it last year which would have made more sense,so logic is not their strong suit!Unless of course they're doing the spinoff now because Silas or Bonnie or whoever is going to bring the dead Originals back, but that seems unlikely!
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it is the indestructible stake wasn't so indestructible as thought. Esther could have been mistaken. I mean, It is kind of silly to think it was absolutely indestructible anyway. Kind of like "The Titanic is unsinkable" or in a fictional context, in Chrono Trigger when Masamune was said to be indestructible.
ReplyDelete"Logic is not their strong suit" So true. But don't give up. Caroline completed the triangle and if Bonnie completes the ritual, we get them all back. The family and a couple millions of other vamps and wolves. I wish I could say it sounds like fun. But that would be a lie.
ReplyDeleteRemember Mikael? When he died, the stake burned with him. That is why Esther used the ring on the stake. So Alaric could kill all originals, one after another, with it. And it worked. It wasn't damaged when Ric (almost) killed Klaus and it wasn’t damaged when Jeremy killed Kol. Was that it? Or did the stake killed more originals?
ReplyDeleteAnd you can't compare the Titanic to a magical stake.
ReplyDeleteChrono Trigger is a very old game from the SNES system.
ReplyDelete"Every spell has a loophole" So true.
ReplyDeleteLike for example, Alaric in season 3 could have taken the rings off Stefan and Damon and been fine walking in the sun.
ReplyDeleteThe sun rings are not transferable.
