This could be the series finale. The ending defently hints at the killer being Thayer. If any more episodes are ordered Emma better watch her back.Rebecca as killer would be too obvious.Well we know Alex did love Thayer since It appears he was protecting him.
i knew, i knew, i knew it!! I knew Thayer was the killer. I'm so glad they have defined him as the clear villan. I was so annoyed with the whole Emma/Thayer relationship. Something has just felt off about him for a while now. Rebecca was wearing gloves so it was probably her who pushed Alec.
I really don't know what to say about everything!!!! I don't understand the connection with Thayer. I mean...WHY? Why would he possibly need to kill Theresa?? I don't think he killed Derek, because he clearly lost it after killing her...but idk. I need more facts! lol BUT...what was it with the images this episode??? Rebecca and Jordan and then Rebecca and Alec. It was used a really cheap/crappy chroma key that I could personally do better. Does anyone know why they used it? Something with the actors maybe??? I was so low level for ABC Family productions!!!
The whole Thayer thing almost seems to have come out of the blue. I knew he would be the killer when they started making his character behave strangely about 2-3 episodes ago. It's almost as though the writers suddenly decided at the last minute to make Thayer the killer, and then told the actor to start acting accordingly. And why would Thayer want to much about silencing others to the twin's secret so badly? I really hope they have logical answers to these questions. I'm really going to miss this show during the hiatus!!
They haven't even picked up TLG yet, production takes very long. PLL will be on hiatus for only 11 weeks (shorter while than each half-season is on air) and each episode takes more than a week to shoot + post-production + pre-production + scheduling + writers room. That show is planned years in advance to meet best possible airing dates.
If they started with TLG right now, they'd still be months behind schedule. They need to gather up the cast & crew again and I bet nearly everyone have taken on new gigs since the newest episodes were filmed nearly a year ago. It's an organisational nightmare.
Word. The Rebecca and Alec scene made me cringe throughout. It was supposed to be important and it had two of the strongest/most experienced actors on the show but I just couldn't focus b/c of the terrible special effects. :(
To be fair those are total viewers, which is not what networks really look at. They look at demo's. The Lying Game has been in the 0.5-0.6 Adult 18-49 demo all season, and it ended on par with that demo compared to last season as well.
I also hope they have good answers to your questions...but him being the killer didn't feel out of the blue to me. It explained my issues with his character. He's a college aged guy who was out, living on his own, 'starting a business' and he's drooling after two 17 year old girls? When we met him he was smitten with Sutton....then he falls in love with Emma. Nutcase worked for me in retrospect.
Was trying to see if i could find out how many eps were ordered for season 2 (to see if the split season 2 in half or if we have to wait to find out if there will be a season 3 before we see more eps)
Discovered a bit about the ratings that might be of interest...their first season the highest rating in the 18-49 demo was a .7 so .5-.6 isn't massively bad. Also, appears to be that the demos they're focusing on are women 18-34 and 12-34.
Season two 10 episodes were ordered so far. Chuck Pratt(The creator of TLG) said if the show did well enough that Abc Family would order a back order of probably 8-10 episodes that could start as soon as August or as late as Winter 2014. All we are waiting on now is an announcement from Abc Family.
Just read an interview with Tyler Christopher in Soap Opera Digest. He said "I do anticipate us going back for another 10 episodes of The Lying Game. [...] we're all confident that that is pending." It sounds like the people on staff have a good feeling about the networks attitude.
They kind of did. Obviously something had to stay up in the air, but they did leave Sutton & Emma's relationship in a good place, along with pretty much everyone else's. This is a first since the pilot.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteunexpected. blew my mind
ReplyDeleteI didn't much care for it until the last 10 or so minutes. Then shit got real!

ReplyDeleteI agree.Rebecca probably pushed Alex.Probally to expose his cover up of Thayer's crimes.Of course who knows If we will ever get resolution.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit! Amazing finale!!! Real game changer. Needs renewing STAT!
ReplyDelete#TheLyingGameMore10 WE WANT MORE THE LYING GAME
ReplyDeleteWere the ratings for this season decent? I wonder how long we're gonna have to wait for new episodes if we get them :-/
ReplyDeleteThe ratings have been steady vs last season, so basically decent.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they will renew it for midseason like they did with season 2.
ReplyDeleteThe soonest would be January of 2014. Summer of 2014 is also possible, definitely not this summer.
ReplyDeleteI knew something was off with Thayer but I did not expect this
ReplyDeleteI really hope they don't cancel it

I agree those scenes with different background, were awful

ReplyDeletewhy do u say not this summer just wondering?

The ratings have been decent, sans the season finale. It got 1.11 million viewers which is the poorest result of the season.
ReplyDeleteRatings this season: 1.55 -> 1.22 -> 1.28 -> 1.36 -> 1.25 -> 1.22 -> 1.30 -> 1.23 -> 1.22 -> 1.11
It's a clear downwards spiral by the end, aka the most important part. It doesn't look good.

ReplyDeletemm yes, that is good. I still don't wanna get overly optimistic, the pickup limbo is killing me as it is. :(
ReplyDeleteWow just watched this episode, was kind of expecting Thayer since he suddenly had a character change but the motive is still fishy!
ReplyDeleteI smiled and said to my screen...."they were right" and I'm glad....having him being the killer makes all the smarmy perfect guy "stuff" work.
ReplyDeleteI also hope they have good answers to your questions...but him being the killer didn't feel out of the blue to me. It explained my issues with his character. ReplyDeleteThe marketing kept referring to this as the "Spring finale" so I assumed that we have at least another 10 eps before they start talking season 3.

ReplyDeleteThat long of a wait would be ridiculous... The break between season 1 and 2 was bad enough, it'll just bomb when it returns.
ReplyDeleteThey should have given more closure if they had no idea if the other half would be ordered...
