This episode had a huge helping of Olicity. Felicity checking Oliver out when he was working out, Oliver offering her comfort when she was upset. Shado kicked some ass, which means I immediately like her.
Thought it was great! I am soo loving Olicity, i definitely saw in this episode that she is indeed attracted to him...I seriously wanted them to hug when she broke down, but he just took w.e she had in her hand. ugh!! But their time will come! And it that moment i was thinking, damn it's gonna be a longgg wait for that. They're like Chollie from Smallville, but hopefully we don't have to wait for season 9 for them to happen!! And I need to point out that I got really excited when Oliver "met" Roy for the first time...omg I can't wait til Oliver takes him under his wing! I'm so glad they introduced Speedy so early...I really wanna see him in action.
Decent ep. Liked the extended intro/background of Shado in the flashbacks and look forward to finding out more about her/her father.Still on the fence about the Roy character, but understand that he's necessary to give Thea more of an individuality and that I guess he'll eventually become "Speedy" the sidekick... Liked the sly DC universe nod with Laurel's mother flying to Central City and would be there "in a flash", as Central City was the home of the Flash superhero...
Awesome ep. The action sequences were pretty tight and suspenseful tonight. Liked all the character work. Dig and Oliver at the burger joint. Felicity feeling the weight of not saving the DA. Roy, not begging. Simply saying 'kill me.' (I kept expecting them to go the begging crying route. Was really pleased they didn't.) Lots of stuff really worked for me tonight.
For some bizarre characters on TV shows don't seem to hear me when I yell warnings. Tried to warn Frank that he was in major trouble after (a) using his own shell company to transfer the funds, (b) telling Moira he did it and (c) Moira pretty much telling him she was going to throw him under the bus.
Loved the moment when Moira was told a triad guy had been arrested and she was completely composed except for that little stumble. Nice touch.
The only thing I was missing was a feel for the cops caring that an ADA had been murdered. I know they were really really tight for running time...lots crammed n this ep...it just stuck out in my mind. On the other hand I absolutely loved that the news decided to, after two murders had been broadcast, air a potential 3rd murder live. I live in LA, hopefully, most other cities in the US have more sane news but that was just so typical of how our news stations would have handled it.
Another episode I loved. I felt bad for Oliver, Laurel, and Moira at the end. Oliver seemed like he was on the verge of a breakdown and the only one that seemed to notice was Diggle. Laurel found her mother knew all along about Oliver and Sara and hid it from her, and Moira.. she got some blood on her hands now. I hope she was able to convince Malcolm to leave Frank's daughter alone, but I won't be surprised if the daughter is too revealed to be dead soon.
I really digged this ep. The case itself was a bit standalone, but I liked all characters here and the arcs they had, they were quite emotional. Arrow is really a great show for me, very happy with the ep!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteLoved the episode, but as a Doctor Who fan I was sad that there wasn't a scene between Alex Kingston and John Barrowman....I hope we see more of her!
