Season 1 - when everything was new and different and the characters were still getting to know each other. It lead to some intersting tensions and storylines. After that they all had their high points (and low points) But I really was not a fan of the show continuing once Duchovny left. He was an intrinsic part of the show and without Mulder it just was not the same.
Season 3 or 4. Season 3 is a mythology heavy season but also has great hilarious MoTW episodes, some of my favorites being Clyde Bruckman's, Jose Chung, Syzygy, War of the Coprophages.
Season 4 is one of the most consistent seasons, with great episodes in all aspects and the beginning of the Scully's cancer arc. The Field Where I Died, Terma/Tunguska, Paper Hearts, Leonard Betts, Memento Mori, Max/Tempus Fugit and the masterpiece Small Potatoes which is ridiculously funny. I just know that if I start watching one episode, I end up watching the whole season and then the whole show, including the films. The greatest TV Show ever made for me.
Love them all..but season three they started dressing better, also the beginning of Gillians hottness after her earlier pregnany weight. David looked heavier not so thin just pure fine. The plots were at top form with some of todays big actors making appearances that season too.
Any of the first 5 seasons I LOVE! For whatever reason, though, my mind goes right to Season 4! While I felt the seasons after 5 were different, some of my favorite light-hearted episodes took place in Seasons 6 and 7. And while I wasn't the biggest fan of Seasons 8 and 9, they did get back to their roots with scary stories. But the Mulder/Scully interaction was solely missed in my opinion. I also felt they tried to sell the whole Doggeet/Reyes thing too quickly. It didn't feel natural to me.
I'm watching it now... Still in second season and it's already one of the best shows I have come across. Great to see there is much better seasons to look forward to...
Season 4! Great episodes, especially the Scully centered ones! Unruhe, Never Again and Memento Mori... second choice is season 6 with Thitonus and Milagro.
I like them all, but if I had to choose, it would be Season 5, Just before the first feature movie. Always had a feeling they would replace Mulder and Scully in that basement office by the end of the shows run.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I say season 3 because I like mythology and in that season it's perfect

ReplyDeleteOh and I HATED the final episodes.
Season(s) 1 and 3.

Honestly any of the first 4 seasons. After the arc about Scully's illness the show starts to go downhill.

ReplyDeleteAny of the first 5 seasons...the show changed when it moved back to California to shoot and that move changed the whole complexion of the show..
ReplyDeleteI loved all the seasons but Season three was when the Mythos was being first explored.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on this. It wasn't the same since they left Vancouver to shoot in California.
ReplyDeleteSeasons 3, 4 and 5 have the best episodes. But I voted for season 4 'cause that's where my fav episode is: Memento Mori.
ReplyDeleteSeason 4 was perfect. I've watched those episodes so many times.

ReplyDelete4-7 seasons were the best of the whole series, hands down.

The first 7 sevens. It should have ended when DD wanted to leave.
ReplyDeleteI liked Robert Patrick but he should have played a bad guy on the X-files
ReplyDeleteI voted for Season 6 just because that's when more of the light-hearted episodes emerged. Though as far as the strongest episodes? Season 4.
ReplyDeleteSeason 4 had Home - one of the weirdest episodes of TV I've ever watched. I remember being amazed that it was on TV
