The only references to "American Gothic" that I'm familiar with are the TV series and the Grant Wood painting. Sine I can't imagine the episode is in reference to either of those, I'm guessing it's a play on words.
well the Gothic literature genre is all about melodrama and parody (something the show does, just think about the 'history lesson' episodes) at least in the Horace Walpole tradition of the genre. *Shrugs* I like it short, simple, mysterious and I like both reference it makes me think of instantly.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Strange title. But okay. Wonder what it will be about

ReplyDeleteWhy would they stamp a name all over the words? That would drive me crazy!
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think of Anna when I see this title, I really wish they'd bring her back
