Events of recent weeks finally reach the breaking point in the winter finale of "The Lying Game," airing on March 12 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on ABC Family.
In "To Lie For," the charity gala takes a somber turn as everyone honors the memory of a loved one. Dan issues Ethan an ultimatum that has heartbreaking consequences. Emma finally confronts Rebecca about her lost childhood. Ted tries to find the right way to tell Kristin about another secret from his past. Meanwhile, an unexpected twist brings the fundraiser to a crashing halt.
"The Lying Game" is produced by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television, and is executive produced by Charles Pratt Jr., Leslie Morganstein, Gina Girolamo, and Fred Gerber. The series cast includes Alexandra Chando, Andy Buckley, Allie Gonino, Alice Greczyn, Blair Redford, Charisma Carpenter, and Helen Slater. Guest stars in "To Lie For" include Adrian Pasdar, Christian Alexander, Tyler Christopher and Ryan Rottman.

I wonder if Dan finds out about Emma and Sutton and makes Ethan choose and he chooses Emma and Dan kicks him out after losing Theresa who I think was the one that died.
ReplyDeleteI think Dan finds out in 2.9 and the ultimatum here is no twins 'cause he blames the situation for Theresa's death. TPTB have to have a road block for the triangle that isn't flipping back and forth--this would take Ethan out of play and family is the only thing that would be big enough and forgivable enough to get him to leave Emma alone.
ReplyDeleteIf its heartbreaking consequences.. Then Ethan is making a choice cause if dan is issuing the ultmatium then Ethan is not going to choose it which leaves it heartbreaking for Dan and Ethan cause Dan could kick Ethan out for it.

ReplyDeleteI agree. I don't think it has anything to do with a triangle. I think Dan makes Ethan choose a side and that's why it has a heartbreaking consequences.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I think you guys are confused about what I said. Dan finds out the secret of the twins because Ethan comes clean in 2.9 because Ethan thinks that secret is what gets Theresa killed. Dan issues an ultimatum to Ethan--no more twins, no investigation, he has to leave Emma/Sutton alone.
ReplyDeleteI think this because the writers need to keep Ethan and Emma not together and they can't use Ethan or Emma going back and forth between Sutton and Thayer, respectively. Ethan can choose family, ie, Dan, over Emma and viewers will forgive him.
Is that clearer?
You do have a point and it may go that way... But I still think Ethan still makes a choice and that why it lead to heartbreaking consequences..

ReplyDeleteand between episode 8 and 9 we dont know where Ethan and Emma are relationship wise I am going to guess they are going to be a lot closer cause otherwise he wouldnt make a choice.
ReplyDeleteA side on what? Between the twins? Between Dan or the twins? Between Alec or Rebecca? What "sides" are you talking about?
ReplyDeleteAn ultimatum inherently means Ethan has to make a choice, the discussion point is a choice on what. I think it is between Dan and having a relationship/being involved with the twins.

ReplyDeleteBut you are saying he will choose Dan over them so viewers can see Ethan will choose family over Emma and Sutton when I don't think he will. I still think he will choose Emma even after and that is the consequence that Ethan has to deal with in Dan's mind he holds them responsible so if Ethan chooses that over what Dan wants him to do that will lead to heartbreaking consequences cause his relationship with his brother will be strained
ReplyDeleteExactly. It will either end two ways. He puts aside his love for Emma and chooses his brother and loses any chance he ever had getting Emma back. Or he goes with love and picks Emma over Dan. Which leads to brothers being on the out. In the end the consequence will be Ethan losing someone he loves no matter what choice he makes.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's none of that and Dan tells Ethan to tell the truth about everything involving the twins to police. Maybe that's what the ultimatum is for Ethan to tell Dan everything and Ethan doesn't leading him to living with the consequence that he might of just lost his brother.
