An Australian soap star and an Emily Owens, M.D. actor have landed lead roles in The CW's The Hundred
Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, a spaceship housing the lone human survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth to investigate the possibility of re-colonizing the planet.
Aussie Bob Morley, who starred in Home and Away and Neighbours, is set to play Bellamy, one of the delinquents -- but five years older than the next-oldest -- on the space station. He is described as manipulative, strong and crafty.
Eli Goree, who had a recurring role on the canceled Emily Owens, is staying put at The CW with the role of Wells Jaha, also one of the young delinquents on the space station. He is disliked by the others because many of their parents have been imprisoned -- or worse -- by Wells' father, the chancellor of the space station.

Maybe the CW has cheaper salaries?
ReplyDeleteThis show sounds so promising. I hope the cw doesn't focus on the teen aspect too much though. It is okay to have it there, as long as it is not the main focus - the vampire diaries is (for most of the time) the best example of how to do that. I think this show and the tomorrow people should be good enough to launch a night all by themselves. the selection could then be launched at 8 on tuesdays, followed by har of dixie, leaving the post the vampire diaries slot to the originals. if beauty survives, it is moved to fridays and paired up with nikita. no changes for wednesdays.
ReplyDeleteThe Hundred is actually sounding more interesting by the minute! Hopefully the CW won't ruin it by turning it into a teen soap opera set on a space station and a post apocalyptic Earth, instead I want to see something in the vain of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas i.e creature created by the radiation in the aftermath of the nuclear war.
