In Episode 3.08 we will be introduced to Derek's Mother, Talia. She is a Deadly alpha werewolf and could be a possible series regular.

We will also meet Laura, Derek's older sister.

    Ooh, yay! Derek's mom has a name! And I wonder how she could be a possible series regular. In flashbacks maybe?

    Awesome to finally have a name. Very confused about the "possible series regular" though since 3x08 is going to be a flashback episode and Talia and Laura are both dead. I'm super excited about meeting those two fierce ladies though!

    3x08 is gonna be a flash back but dereks mom will return to beacon hills as the last hale family member who survived the fire secretly but laura will be only in flash back unlike Talia

    I thought everyone but Derek, Peter, and Laura died in the Hale House fire...
    I hope they're not messing with canon...
    Though, if they'll be reacurring in multiple flashbacks, then I couldn't be more excited!

    Jeff did tease a long time ago that more Hales could be alive but I could never see this coming. Just, WOW.
