SpoilerTV Awards 2013 - Voting Round (Over)

Voting Round is now over. Winners have been announced.



So, here is the Voting Round of the SpoilerTV Awards 2013. We received 1000+ nomination entries, and after tallying the nominees for each category, the nominees that made it to the Voting Round are in the polls below. Although we were initially going to put only the Top 5 into the Voting Round, the numbers were so close for some categories that we had to let more than 5 into the Voting Round.

Voting Round will remain open for one week, until Thursday, 21st February. The results for all polls will remain hidden till then.

Thanks for participating. Feel free to post in the comments whom you voted for, if you want to.

    Network Comedy - Community!!!

    Network Drama - Arrow

    Crime Drama - Person of Interest

    Sci-fi/fantasy - FRINGE

    Cable Comedy - Psych

    Cable Drama - Breaking Bad

    New Comedy - Go on

    New Drama - Arrow..though i would have picked The Americans if it was nominated.

    Comedy Actor - Mattew Perry. Nick Offerman should be nominated too..

    Comedy Actress - Amy Poehler

    Drama Actor - There are too many people missing from this category...I mean where is Bryan Cranston? Had to go with Michael Emerson as he is the only one i would be happy to see winning from those that are nominated.

    Drama Acress - Yeah this is even worse - I wouldn't vote anyone nominated in this category.

    Like you I´m so sad that people don´t seem to watch Justified. It should have be nominated in more than one category. Same goes for SOA. Breaking bad was only nominated in best cable drama.....:-( I don´t get it!

    Some of the results of nominations rounds are very surprising to me. These were my picks for each category (Some of these could change very easily on any other day):

    Network Comedy: I did not vote, as I could not choose between The Big Bang Theory/Community/New Girl (and, to a smaller extent, even Modern Family I guess)
    Network Drama: Scandal
    Crime Drama: Person of Interest
    Fantasy Show: Once Upon a Time
    Cable Comedy: Cougar Town
    Cable Drama: The Walking Dead
    New Comedy: Go On
    New Drama: I did not vote as well, as I could not choose between Arrow/Revolution/The Following. I think I would probably vote for the following had I seen more episodes, but 4 so far is still very little for me
    Comedy Actor: Actually, I think all my nominees made it. I love all of these actors, and I think my favorite is Ty Burell, and Jim Parsons is incredible every episode. However, I have voted for the incredibly underrated Jake Johnson, he just deserves some recognition, he shines every single episode!
    Comedy Actress: Kaley Cuoco
    Drama Actor: I am very disapointed with the nominations for this one. Working with what I had: Michael Emerson

    hardest choice for me was fringe or supernatural. normally i would have gone for supernatural but in honour of fringe's finale season this time i went with fringe.
    upset there were no community actors that made it through.
    will be interesting to see how these turn out.

    My only votes went to How I Met Your Mother for network comedy, NPH for comedy actor, and CS for comedy actress. I know the show isn't what I used to be, but it is still the most amazing, unique, show there is out there and I'll miss it like crazy when they wrap up next year :(

    None of the shows, actors or actresses that I nominated made it into the final rounds except for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the cable comedy category so why should I care who wins. No Justified, no Sons of Anarchy, no Game of Thrones, no Mad Men, no Weeds nothing. This "Spoiler TV awards" thing is a joke.

    Network comedy - Community (Parks & Rec being a close 2nd)
    Network Drama - Arrow
    Crime Drama - Person of Interest
    Sci-Fi/Fantasy - Fringe
    Cable Comedy - Psych
    Cable Drama - Game of Thrones (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Dexter were all contenders though)
    New Comedy - Go On
    New Drama - Arrow
    Comedy Actor - Ty Burrell (he MAKES Modern Family)
    Comedy Actress - Amy Poehler (kinda disappointed there was no Community people in either of these categories)
    Drama Actor - Michael Emerson (Jim Caviezel being a contender)

    I am 99.9% sure Castle is going to win the crime drama with all the fans here. I don't watch that show but I watch Person of Interest and it's the best crime drama I watch in my opinion, so that's my vote.


    Other votes were The Walking Dead (cable drama) and Supernatural (sci-fi/fantasy) though I love Fringe too.

    That doesn't matter; TNT doesn't own Leverage. Electric Entertainment owns Leverage and they are still negotiating possible deals. Besides, just because a show is cancelled doesn't mean it can't be renewed. NCIS is a spin-off of JAG which was cancelled and then CBS bought the show and made a success of it.

    First of all... No Shameless? Ok, just don't put the best show on TV... :/

    Network Comedy: Community
    Network Drama: None. Only Watch Arrow but i don't think it deserves the nomination... Also, B&TB? What the hell?
    Crime Drama: Castle
    Fantasy Show: Fringe
    Cable Comedy: Psych. It should be Louie, but... Well... I think Psych deserves recognition. Please don't vote for Girls, really hate that show and it's cast xD
    Cable Drama: White Collar
    New Comedy: Go On
    New Drama: Elementary
    Comedy Actor: None. Where's Danny Pudi? That man deserves some recognition...
    Comedy Actress: Kaley Cuoco. I'll give this girl a point. I think it's the best of TBBT and didn't get the recognition she deserves. Her "one liners" and expresions are great.
    Drama Actor: Michael Emerson. I know Supernatural is a beloved show, but Jensen and Jared there? Seriously? I think Johnny Lee Miller did a great job with his Sherlock Holmes... As a huge fan of the book series since i was a kid, i was talking with my sister and we reached the conclusion that the US version has a better Holmes.
    Drama Actress: Stana Katic. This woman blew me away with her scene on episode 5x01 with Jack Coleman. She is the better actress on Castle... I would love to see her on a good drama on cable some day.

    Castle, Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion like a perfect combination. Castle is one of great show i've ever seen. Stana Katic i love her, she has this strong face in emotion the character especially after Reality Star Struck episode when she flipped that table and kept shouting. So great. Nathan Fillion, ahhh this guy fantastic, i just love him since the first.

    Love the show Leverage more than even Once Upon A Time and Revenge (I love them both!) It's got a great cast, great writing, and makes me smile when the the little guys are avenged by five modern day Robin Hoods who have become a family. There's still plenty of stories to be told for all the people and the bad guys involved.

    Apparently you aren't aware the BATB also has a "rabid online fanbase". The difference here is that these awards (although we know they mean nothing ratings-wise and are just one poll from one website) do mean more to our show than they do to other shows. Basically the Beasties (BATB fans) have to participate and be highly visible in every single poll or survey or whatever that we can, just to bring attention to our programme. So we rally our fanbase to get involved more than the fans of other shows like Elementary, Arrow, Castle might do for these things. They don't 'need' the attention so much, so their fans tend to not bother with some of these 'smaller' (no offense!) polls. Just because a show with lower ratings got higher votes, does NOT mean there was anything nefarious going on.

    I've run several awards like this over the years myself. Something I've learned, if you arent vigilant about trying to stop vote fixing, it will happen.
    B&tb got more than 2Xs as many votes than their challengers on a couple categories, including categories where it was up against shows known to have strong, rabid online fanbases.
    Clearly something is up.
    Someone managed to work a way around the 1 vote per person system.
