  1. That was really good! I hope Daryl goes back to the prison. Stupid Meryl. Poor Carol.

And whoa, Rick has lost it. Ghost!Lori freaked me out, tbh. That was just really creepy.

  2. UGH! Rick's headed for the couch. Seems like he can only rationalize while in battle. Would have been worth bringing Merle back. He could have been isolated from the rest until accepted. Loss of Daryl ripped the heart out of Rick. He sees it as another failure on his part.

  3. This episode was amazing, but I think it could be better. More Daryl. Anyway, The Walking Dead is fantastic!

  4. Awesome! Crazy Rick! Sad about Daryl but he'll probably meet back up w. the group soon enough. Hopefully Andrea will rise to the occassion. Can't wait 'til next week.

  5. Amazing episode! Was prepared for Daryl to choose Merle. Poor Carol though, you could tell how heartbroken she was. Can't wait for next week!

  6. Great return for the show, although the Rick freaking out over a ghost Lori was a bit trippy. Figured that Darryl would side with Merle (at least for now) as like Carol said that he has his code like a wayward knight. Am very much looking forward to see how the rest of this season will wash out.... welcome back

  7. Pretty nice return to the series!
It felt a bit rushed to me... or maybe it was just the action as the episode openner got me worked up and then I had to re-settle into the episode?

    - Wow, Glenn went all Romper Stomper on that truck zombie!
    - The baby can sense the darkness in Rick I think. Well, what can you say about rick,? Protector, leader, volatile and dangerous.... sure, but nurturing and soothing? Not so much. XD
    - As expected as it was, I'm a bit disappointed Daryl went with Merle. There's blood and there's family and the two are not mutually exclusive!

Interesting to see how one event caused most the residents of Woodbury to freak out and want to leave. As if it would be safer on the outside. Mob mentality is one thing, but nonsensical sheeple I cannot abide!

    Although I will admit.....
When Andrea is the town's voice of reason I guess you know the town is fucked! XD

  8. Pretty good episode, a tad slower than I was expecting but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. It sucked to see Rick kind of lose it at the end, pushing Tyreese and his group out. I was hoping Merle would be a bit calmer and try to reason with Rick (in his own Merle way) to let him go to the prison with Daryl since he was outcast by the Governor. I suspect they'll come back before the end of the season.

  10. A good case could be made for its being Rick, in causing the loss of Daryl, Michonne, and Tyreese--all good soldiers--to his troup. His growing paranoia is dangerous to his group as well as himself.

  11. The episode seemed a little slow, surprising since so much came to pass. I wish the attack scene had been a little longer, showing the Dixons' escape to be more treacherous.

Glenn has really changed since the time it all began (a year ago, so Carol tells us). I like and understand his anger. If Rick were a better leader, and not presently dwelling in Crazyland, he'd appreciate Glenn and back the plan to assassinate the Governor.

Hershel has taken the position of accepting and promoting Rick's leadership, mentoring him through his personal difficulties so he can lead more effectively. Although Rick's leadership is, well, not very good right now, Hershel is doing his part to keep anarchy at bay. Mirroring Hershel, Andrea appeals to the governor to mind his ways for the sake of his people, then rallies the citizens to keep on keeping on.

It's only been a week since Lori's death and Rick is still grieving. Making it worse is seeing the baby and being reminded it may be not his. Rick has now allowed the loss of several potential helpers to the cause. I suspect that somehow they'll all come back. Daryl and Merle will return, Tyreese won't really go away, and Michonne will stick around.

  12. Disappointing to be honest. While it was still very good and quite enjoyable, it lacked any major awesome moments (Except Glenn stomping the walkers head in) and was easily the worst episode of Season 3 so far in my opinion.

  14. This whole Rick losing it thing, I don't know, not liking it. I suppose it's realistic, mor eor less, that the ongoing trauma cold drive him over the edge, but since that's what happened to the Governor, do we really need it happening to our hero, too?

  17. I really liked it, and I love th3 fact that TWD can make both thrilling action packed gorefests and nuanced character interactions episodes.

The action in the teaser was more of a denouement for last episode, so after the opening credits (Why is Sarah Wayne Callies still there...) everything fell to a slower pace to let things cool down, to tie loose ends that needed to be tied and reaching conclusions. All players are in resting positions.

This led to most of the episode being dedicated to them working things through; the loss, the fallout. (Carol, you poor soul!!! Glenn's pent up frustration, Hershel being the voice of reason, Daryl choosing blood over family, Andrea making sense. Rick loosing his shit) All great moments that made for a very nuanced episode with character realizations.

... And that's why Callies is there in the credits. That scene was really eerie, to the point you could see Rick loosing it. Ghost Lori can be a great addition to make Rick face all the things he has done and had to be done. It could be really something.

I "kinda" liked Andrea this episode. Though I feel that the reasons keeping on Woodbury serve more the plot than the character, I understand her hesitation to just run out with Daryl before knowing that her old gang is alive. Woodbury represents the possibility for a better tomorrow, and she is unwilling to let that go. The idea that society can and will be rebuilt. And I like that, Andrea seems to be the only character pondering on this.

Alas, pusk will come to shove, and the collision will occurr. Andrea WILL have to pick a side. Theme-wise Andrea's path could be much more interesting, with grander themes, but so far is has been just snippets and mostly porking (I guess the porking is being used in lieu of comfort/normalicy, but they could have found more interesting ways of making Woodbury desirable)

  18. It seemed like Rick was about to agree with Herschel's pleas and let Tyreese and chums stay. When he was saying "No. Get out. etc." he wasn't talking to them, it seemed to me that he was talking to ghost-Lori.

  19. I love this show so much and when I try to get people into the show, people always seem very much against the idea of anything involving zombies. It is undeniable that a big part of the essence of the show is in the way it makes me literally feel sick with anticipation from its action packed, pure adrenaline scenes. However, it is also undeniable that those scenes would be meaningless were it not for the way I care so much about these characters and this group, and the show is equally competent when it moves away from the action and works in favour of character dynamics. This episode was proof of that. I liked for what it did to the Rick character and to the "group" character, if that can be said. Daryl leaving was heartbreaking for me, and go I hate Merle, I hope he comes back. Loved all the little character moments. Hope we see the other guys again though, they will be needed! So glad this is back!

  20. I always find Andrea a very interesting character, regardless of how much I disagree with her choices. Right now, I agree with you that she represents a conflict that is very interested to see portrayed in the show, which is survival vs. future society, and I like that. She seems to think it will all eventually blow away a few generations down the road.
