Oh Michael Trevino why how do you manage to make me love you more? As Ty you pretty much slay me with your heroism, and love for Caroline, after so much work to be free you're willing to become a slave again all for her life to be spared. I want a guy like you. I'd never take you for granted baby. "blows kiss"
He is not an asshole, because Klaus killed her mother... he is basicly a boring character.. as Matt or April.... He was patethetic, not Klaus.. when he offered that he will be Klaus' slave again.
I think people need to stop messing with Klaus. All Tyler's preposterous posturing was annoying and made him sound like a dork. He's gloating? WTF Bonnie put Klaus there, Tyler had nothing to do with it. And really, he's gonna kill Klaus? You and what army, Tyler? The last hybrid army you sent after him was slaughtered and your Mom died for your hubris. Learn your lesson and be a good little hybrid. You don't have a white oak stake and you are betting a whole bunch on the team picking up a cure that is easy to force on someone without getting close and that Silas isn't going to be so scary you could use Klaus on your side. That's a lot of ifs for gloating, and just makes Tyler arrogant and ridiculous.
I mean guys, you killed Kol and Finn. That's a lot of forgiveness for a vampire that you seem to think is infinitely forgiving but also a crazy evil psychopath at the same time. Pick. But please stop messing with Klaus.
Klaus killed his mother because he tried to kill Klaus. Klaus shoulda just killed him, but well the mom was a more expendable character. I'm not saying Klaus isn't a villain, but he wouldn't have killed her if Tyler and Hayley hadn't been plotting and acting.
I couldn't believe that Klaus would bite Caroline. I get that he wanted to get back at Tyler, but seriously, he was just talking to Damon about how he got Elena to love him back. "What is it that you say to her?" Come on!! He loves her!! How could he do that? I just love how Caroline called him out on his humanity and told him that she wishes she could forget all the horrible things he has done. She told him the one thing he needs to hear. That he could be saved! I want them together so badly. But then Tyler was trying so hard to save her. I know that this show's love triangle is suppose to be around Damon, Stefan, and Elena, but I rather explore Caroline/Tyler/Klaus and have Stefan and Damon go back to being best friends/brothers.
The only memorable thing about this episode was Rebekah. This ep doesn't even qualify as a filler one.It is just it never happened.Plot holes and same repetitive stuff and stuff I did not care about. At least,Charlie Bewley is gonna be in the next one.
Honestly I was not feeling this episode at all. It was too bad because I liked last week's. The only part that surprised me was Klaus stabbing Caroline.
It was great!!! Stupid question. If (according to Shane; not that I believe him) the original purpose of the Five was to find and destroy Silas, why were they wasting time killing lower vampires, instead of going after Silas? From the flashback we know, that the mark appeared completely on them, when the witch performed the spell. Not very logical to me. Not that I expect any. It's crystal clear now. This visions are responsible for this whole "bring back the dead" propaganda. And I bet Silas is sending this visions to get some stupid idiot to free him. We don't know what happens to the bloodline if the original is cured. Maybe they all are cured. If it works on the same laws and principles as killing an original. On the other side, the daggers work only on the original. Maybe they all die. After all, they have to die to come back as vampires. Maybe nothing happens. The originals are cured, the bloodline remains unchanged. A human Rebekah? I don't think she's gonna make it. She was a vampire for too long. She's used to her powers. Her speed and strength. The ability to compel anyone. And of course she's not used to being vulnerable. She's not afraid of a robber with a knife or a gun. Or afraid that a car could hit her. If she gets the cure, I don't think she'll stay human long. Soon she'll want to be a vampire again. Becca saved Elena. Why? Elena gave her the stake. An act of trust. Seems like Elena and Becca could make peace. Would be nice. Becca was right. Elena really did killed two of her brothers. But seemed to forget, that she did it to protect herself and her loved ones. Just like Becca did, when she killed Elena to kill Alaric. So the motive is oaky for Becca but not for Elena? Oh my god, Elena is so cute when she's so stupid and naïve. "Anyone who wants to take this cure is gonna have that option" And she never thought about the possibility, that more vampires out there wants it destroyed than given for free? Damon again manipulated his relationship with Elena. Always he does or says something to push her away. But it was great to see the old Damon again. Torturing Shane? Awesome. "Morning sunshine. You look pathetic" That was priceless. I just loved it. Klaus admitted killing Carol. I hope, Caroline was in the next room. "Tylers mother is dead. So is my brother. We're even" Keep on dreaming, honey. Klaus killed for fun. Elena and Jeremy killed in self-defense. They had no choice. Kill or be killed. Klaus had the choice. Well, something tells me Klaus chance with Caroline went from slim to none. Good!!! I knew that Klaus would heal Caroline. But I hope, she doesn't see him as a hero and savior now. She shouldn't forget that she almost died because of him. Again. Which time was it? The 3th? Or the 4th? I kinda lost count. And I'm glad she seems to remember what he did. She forgot to mention that he saved her after she almost died because he ordered Ty to bite her. I hope, Caroline was sweet talking Klaus and didn't mean what she said. Klaus is not capable of loving. And again double standards. If Klaus can be saved, if she can forgive him what he did, cause he has something good inside him and is capable of loving, why isn't she capable of forgiving Damon? He's capable of loving too. And he changed long before Klaus. He risked his life for others. And Klaus? I don't think so. Bonnie is so … I could kill her with my bare hands. Jeremy disappears. She finds him in chains and gagged and the most important thing is, how the path disappeared? Not "What are you doing?" "Why is Jeremy in chains?" "Why did you kidnap him?" Nothing? Just "What happened with the path?"
And that is my problem with Klaus. Ty tried to kill Klaus. Fine. Then Klaus should solve this with Ty and not kill his mother, just cause she's the easier target and he can't find Tyler. It's what he always does. Jenna died, cause Damon freed Ty and Caroline. Klaus probably believed it was Elenas idea. And the same with Katerinas family. She turned, ruined his plan and disappeared. So he massacred her entire family? I don't think it has so much to do with expandable characters. It's just Klaus way.
Bu-hu, great hero Klaus. You just forgot to mention, that every time Caroline was in danger, it was because of him. Without him she wouldn't need to be saved.
Yes. And that exactly proves my theory, that Klaus is not capable of loving or caring. If you love someone, or just care for him, you don't kill him, just to hurt someone else. And this eyes full of tears at the end … Just JPs next unsuccessful attempt to make Klaus more likable. Not buying it. I hope, she was just sweet-talking him into saving her. If they'll come together, I'll probably stop watching. That is ridiculous. After 3 years (one and a half in MF time) she still can't forgive Damon for what he did to her. But she's willing to forget all that Klaus did in the past months? And some people are mad at Elena for sleeping with Damon after all he did. Damon at least changed. Klaus didn't. He can't. He has no humanity inside him.
Stop messing with Klaus? Are we watching the same show? If you're trying to say Klaus has anything good inside him, explain me why he bit Caroline. I'm obviously too stupid to understand. He loves her? Cares for her? If you love someone, or just care for him, you don't kill him, just to hurt someone else. Or maybe you should have you moral compass checked. True, Bonnie put Klaus there. But Klaus is convinced he is a God. Invincible, indestructible, immortal, … I just enjoy it when he finally gets his ass kicked and has to admit that he is NOT all mighty. So I don't blame Ty to enjoy the show. Don't worry, they can handle Klaus. Bonnie knocks him out, they give him the cure (if it exists), problem solved. "Be a good little hybrid?" Are you out of your mind? Would you like it to have a psychopath control your life? Take you free will? I really wish I had the possibility to try it on you. If I would force you to kill the people you love, you would probably see it a different way. True. Elena and the others killed two originals. Why was that? Oh, right. They were bored and there wasn't anything of interest on TV. Wait. Was it to deliver a massage? They killed to protect themselves and the people they love. Klaus didn't had to kill. Or is it for you okay that Klaus killed Jenna to get back at Elena, or that he killed Carol to get back at Tyler? And it's not okay that Elena kills Finn and Jer kills Kol to protect the town form psychopaths?
Finn was the least threatening vampire around and killing him had nothing to do with protecting the town, they wanted Klaus dead and didn't care about collateral damage. Kol might have been psychotic but Stefan and Damon are just as bad. Damon has done things far more terrible things and on an impulse just because he's had his feelings hurt.
I hate them all. Most of all Damon, Stefan, Klaus and Elena. I don't know why I keep watching it. Must be inertia. I hope they all die in fire or find themselves a wall to smash their skulls with
I will throw my 2 cents in and say the ONLY original I care anything about is Elijah. The spin off was not going to be watched until they put him in it, now I am hoping it gets picked up.
Then almost every vampire except Elena and Caroline would die too. Considering that Stefan and Damon are over a 100 years old, and no human is meant to live that long...
There are plot holes and they only get bigger and bigger. Why not, i think they have money and she knows a lot about history and cultures, she could go to uni and have a proper life. She'll adjust. Elena gave Rebekah the stake only after Rebekah saved her. Would be good to see them forgiving each other. Sort of resolves our conversation. Rebekah does say it in the episode, that she and Elena, both did it to protect their families, but Rebekah is the bad guy. Elena kept saying Rebekah is bad but Rebekah said they are not so different. Sure she will think Elena betrayed her again if she betrayed her before. Trust requiers time. Elena is not very smart, she actually acts like a teenager most of the time. Why would more than 150 years old vampires to be with a teenager, I don't understand. Damon tortures people, it's awesome. He enjoys it. But Klaus or Rebekah is unforgivable? Caroline does say, she can't forgive Klaus for all he did. I'm glad it was the episode where characters remembered the past. I think he is capable of loving but it is a very complicated thing for him. He is interesting because he is so distorted.
Agree about Finn. Kol didn't threaten Elena and even Jeremy, he wasn't even going to kill him, though damage him severely and he had reasons for it. Everyone was so wrapped up in this too good to be true idea of the cure that they dismissed Silas. Kol was the smart one, but selfish masses always win.
Nice episode. Finally, even more people remembered the past. Elena and Rebekah's confrontation was about time. Caroline didn't forget Jenna. The show finally acknowledges its characters actions. Next step will be remembering they killed thousands of vampires. Klaus being all conflicted and seemingly evil is interesting. Everyone keeps saying "taking the cure" but what is the cure? I have a feeling that since Silas can resurrect people, you have to die. Weren't there rumours that Damon will die in a few episodes? Unwilling human Damon? Might be interesting. Will stop the sire bond too. But if Elena becomes human again it will throw the show a season back. I'm oddly curious why they keep putting Damon's phrase "I wish what you felt for me was real" in the beginning of each episode. Might be a message that Elena's feelings are not real. She also sort of contradicted him when they were talking who will take the cure and Damon told her not to.
His way is to teach you a lesson for crossing him. They really should have learned the lesson by now. He shouldn't have had to reprove his point to Tyler. But Tyler is pretty slow. And Bonnie didn't defeat him or kick his ass, she detained him. And he is going to get out. What are they going to do then? It was a stupid arrogant plot to go after the Originals. They should have made a deal with Klaus and then stuck to it. He agreed to daggering Kol. He didn't agree to kill him. Because all they do is break deals and then go begging to him for help (ie, Caroline). He isn't their friend, and at some point he is gonna stop helping them out of the goodness of his heart. What are they going do with Silas then?
Klaus killed Jenna because he needed a vampire for his spell. Jenna was poetic justice, not some petty you upset me thing, Elena was gonna be dead what's she gonna care for more than a few minutes. But more importantly it goes to show how important family is to Klaus.
PS. Klaus can be arrogant and think he's invincible, because he is invincible. He's worried about the cure because he wants to destroy it because it might have an effect on him--so he knows that if they find the cure he is vulnerable, without it, he's pretty unkillable.
Um...there are a lot of inaccuracies in that little rant. I never said he was good. I said stop screwing over the currently biggest, baddest, villain in town and expect to get away with it. What does Bonnie think Klaus is gonna do when he gets free? How many times has he spared her life because Bennet witches are good to have around? How long before he pulls a Damon and decides he gives a crap what happens to her and snaps her neck? I think the chances of Bonnie coming back from the island still being able to use expression are slim to none. But again I didn't say it wasn't possible I said "a lot of ifs" to be taunting a guy who can kill you faster than you can blink.
He hurt Caroline to teach them a lesson. A lesson that they refuse to learn. If anyone is being arrogant without jack to back it up it is wanna alpha Tyler. Tyler wasn't sired to Klaus, he wasn't mind controlled. He didn't have to go after the guy who only previously kept him safe.
They didn't kill Finn and Kol to protect the town, they could give a crap about the town. They killed Kol to grow Jeremy's mark and to keep Kol from cutting off Jeremy's arms and to get Kol out of the way for the search for the "cure". Those are all personal selfish reasons. They killed Finn because he was the easiest original to take down and they wanted to kill all the originals, and they thought they were linked. But it wasn't for the town, it was for Elena. Because frankly if you just don't piss the originals off, they pretty much leave you alone.
I don´t know what to say about this episode. I am kind of tired of this hunting for cure, Silas and that suddenly everyone wants to be a human. I think they should rename this show to I Want To Be Human Diaries. I would rather see Elena as a vampire than useless human again, especially since she isn´t vampire too long.
Agreed, Elijah is my favourite but Kol had a lot of potential especially when he was talking to Elena about faith and how much he admired witches. It would have been great to explore his background.
I can see on all the comments that you all hate Klaus. I just love him. And Rebekah too. They make the show fun and interesting. Stefan and Elena are so boring and Damon is not as interesting as he use to be, I wish there was a chance for Klaus and Caroline, but since his character is moving to a new show, I´m guessing that it will never happend.
Ouch. Remember how only a century or so ago, rich people used to blame poor people for their poverty, for example, citing off a reasons like 'this happens to you because you're too lazy to get a job.' They basically failed to take into account (or perhaps just didn't want to) the fact that it was their society and the selfish tradition of heritage and classicism that was responsible for the problem. There were other factors at work, or course, but I use this as an example because it illustrates the fact that people tried to ascribe blame to the individual rather than taking a good hard look at their own actions, at their own blinkered viewpoints, and how it relates to the problem. I suppose that's their 'hubris' as you decided to call Tyler's need to hurt Klaus with his words. If my mother had been murdered, that's the least of what I would do, especially if someone was unrepentant enough to describe her as a 'fighter' when they were busy holding her head under the water. Which just...urgh. Dude. Disgusting.
Anyway the reason I spilled over this little rant about people in the past and their 'hubris' (that is a nice word, I like it) is that it is the same precise mindset Klaus employs. He gets so angry and revenge-driven over Kol's death, over any perceived hurt or slight to that which he considers important, but demands - no, expects - others to swallow down their own grief at the loved ones that he himself has ruthlessly ripped apart. Bit of a double standard, am I right?
You argue that Mrs Lockwood died because of Tyler's hubris and follow it up with the patronising 'Learn your lesson and be a good little hybrid.' Wow. That's right. Klaus shouldn't take any responsibility for his actions. It was Tyler's decision and that alone that murdered his mother. It wasn't Klaus' hand holding Carol's head underwater. Nope, not at all.
You can, of course, see the illogical assumption with this. You're assuming that Tyler should take responsibility for Klaus' need to get even. And then you deny that Tyler has the right to want to do the same thing back, to posture, to lash out with words. It's the very least of what he can do, but he does it none the less.
And hey, remember back in season three, when Klaus released Stephan from their partnership? And how just before he found out that his new friend had stolen the coffins, he advised Stephan that seeking revenge was a waste of time and that he should learn to let go? This coming from the man who slaughtered an entire family to make Katherine pay for, you know, wanting to live? Sure Klaus, I believe you aren't 'arrogant and ridiculous.' You're full of such great advice. Forgive me if I don't understand why you never freaking follow it.
I'm not saying they should like Klaus or forgive him or invite him to Thanksgiving dinner (or invite him in their house at all--stupid plan). I'm saying they should stop effing with him. They should have a healthy respect for the danger that is Klaus. You don't throw rocks at a rabid dog and then ask it to watch your back while you sleep. Tyler can be as mad as he wants about his Mom, but his mom would have been fine if he hadn't tried to kill Klaus--this wasn't an out of left field I feel like murdering it was retribution. They should FEAR Klaus' retribution. And since Klaus isn't gasping his last breath, taunting him is just stupid. He's not going to forgive you and he can kill you faster than you can get away (look what he did to Caroline). You can't sit there and make snide comments at a psychopath and still think you should be safe because he as some humanity. If you think he's psycho and unpredictable and a villain, treat him like a villain. Don't beg him to help you and then turn on him and expect him not to do anything about it. He will and you won't like it. Some victims deserve what they get because they are stupid. Tyler is rapidly becoming (if he wasn't always) one of those people.
(Sorry if there are mistakes or if it's not understandable, English is not my first language ^^) I'm having mixed-feelings about this episode, there were great scenes but it was kind of boring too.
The all cure plot is getting really annoying, it feels like it's never gonna end. Besides all we learned is that Shane is even creepier than he looked otherwise their time on the island was (for the moment) useless. But at least Shane being crazy gave some action to the episode. I'm waiting to see what he's going to do next and how it's going to end.
I used to like hating Klaus because I loved him as a the "big villain" but in this episode I think Tyler said it all : he was pathetic. Klaus has done many horrible things but now he can't even teach his lesson like he wanted to because he's supposed to love her, yet he tried to kill her. Paradoxal much ? I mean, I didn't want Caroline to be dead but I would like to see Klaus either bad or on the path of redemption, not being good then bad then good again then evil and so on.. It's irritating.
Tyler gloating, fine I understand. But it was stupid to let Caroline get so close, I mean they all know that Klaus is dangerous (even if he was less dangerous in the last episodes) and still they are trying to make him mad. But I was glad that for once, they remembered that Klaus is supposed to be the one they hate.
Rebekkah alone bored me because we all get it that she wants the cure, she said it again and again. But when she put Elena back in her place it was funny to watch because seriously she's stronger and faster. And I'm really enjoying her relationship with Stefan who I liked the most in this episode. Stefan was really the best thing (just after Jeremy shirtless *.*) because he finally said out loud that taking the cure would be for him and I loved Stefan being all independant and not all loved dovey about Elena, and he was the only one who understood that they needed to work together and not try to kill, torture or kidnapp. Really Stefan was awesome and I'm enjoying his character way much since he hasn't been in love with Elena.
I want to shake up Bonnie and scream "stop being so stupid and naive dammit" because seriously, she's doing magick, a fire path suddenly appears to find Jeremy and she doesn't think for a second to, I don't know, call the strong vampire with her or wait for the other or just say to someone where she's going ? No just follow the path to wherever he's gonna lead you even if at the end there is a super dangerous and crazy guy who kidnapped Jeremy.
Finally Damon made me so angry. He's my favorite character but I couldn't stand him. He doesn't want the cure, okey I get it. But Elena was human before and that didn't prevent him from falling in love with her even if there were much more problems. Yet now that she does want to be with him no matter what, he's coming up with all the excuses possible. "Human and vampire can't work", "Your feelings probably aren't real", "You and Stefan will end up together", "I want to stay a vampire even if that means suffering for all eternity by not being with the woman I love". Before I thought that bad things happened to him all the time but right now he's the one who's keeping him from being happy. And what makes me even more mad is that it's so out of character compared to the Damon who was selfish and didn't care about what he have to do to get what he wants.
So yeah real mixed-feeling but the end of the episode managed to catch my attention.

And that rises a question: What is so bad about being a vampire? Immortality, speed and strength, ability to compel. Blood thirst can be controlled. What not to like?
In my opinion, my favourite scenes of the episode were the ones with Rebekah in. If anybody deserves the cure, she does. And she easily had the best quotes in the episode, imo. The thing that's keeping me watching the show right now is the anticipation of seeing who will take the cure.
Elena is a special case. Ready to kil many people for the unproven cure. You don't need to be human to have a family. Kids could be adopted. Turn the kids when they grow up - they will be with you again.
I meant grown up ones and if they want to. Or turning sick children would work too. I actually wonder how many illnesses you could cure with a drop of the vampire blood.
Agree. Finn wasn't a danger to the others. But he was bonded to the others thru Esthers spell. He was just the easiest prey. Klaus or Kol would do the same. I disagree. They killed Finn to kill Klaus. To save the world from a psycho killer. Killing Finn was just the only way. It was no different than Becca killing Elena to kill Alaric to protect her family.
True, they didn't care about collateral damage. Neither do Klaus or Becca to get what they want.
Damon changed. And Stefan and Damon don't kill innocent people if there is any way to prevent it.
Finn isn't an appropriate example. The guy wanted to die. He said as much and volunteered to sacrifice himself so the rest of his family could be killed as well. It's like shooting a suicide bomber before he can detonate his vest and kill more people.
Ah, you mean Rebekah. Money is always helpful. Knowledge about history or culture not. Except, she planned on being a teacher. Who would be a better teacher for history, than someone, who lived it? What I meant is, that she is not used to live and act like she's human. Think. She can compel every one if things are not going her way. And she's used to take a risk, knowing nothing can kill her. I think, if she becomes human, she'll soon die (welcome to the wonderful world of mortals) or she would want to turn back. Yes, Becca saved Elena and Elena gave her the stake. Maybe they could make it work. It would be nice. But also weird. Can you imagine them on a double date? Becca had both Salvatore boys, Elena had both Salvatore boys. At least as girlfriends Becca and Elena would have something to talk about. I told you already that I understand that Becca killed Elena to protect her family. Elena did the same. What made Becca a bitch was, that she was mocking about killing her and seeing her die again. And what I meant with my comment was, that Becca, when she talks about Elena killing her brothers seemed to forget that Elena did it to protect her loved once. Just like she, Becca, did. That it sounded to me like it was okay for Becca and not for Elena. That's what I meant.
Yes, Damon tortured Shane. But for him it wasn't sport or entertainment like it is for Klaus. Damon did it, cause he is the only one smart enough to realize, that Shane is bad news. The only one smart enough not to trust him, like the others do. And keeping secrets can bring them all in danger, can get them all killed. He did it to get answers and protect the others. Don't forget, Shane was talking about another massacre. I doubt Klaus would do it for the same reason.
Yeah, I was shocked that Caroline remembered some of the things Klaus did. A couple of eps back, they were drinking champagne, flirting, having fund and acting like nothing happened.
I wish I could believe that he is capable of loving or at least caring. But by the way he acts and treats his own family, I doubt it. I hoped, that he was capable of human feelings, back in S3. But I was always disappointed. So I gave it up and accepted, that there is nothing good in him.
Actually Finn did change his mind once Sage came back and he was happy, he only wanted to sacrifice himself because he thought it was for the greater good to get rid off all vampires. I think your comparison with a suicide bomber is wrong, a suicide bomber would have killed innocents so killing him first is the right thing but Finn has harmless, he didn't even fight back against Matt, killing Finn was wrong.
My point was that people criticise Klaus for killing innocents, like Carol, instead of going after the people who wronged him, like Tyler, while the MFG did the same to Finn and everyone justifies it.
Damon hasn't changed much, all it would take is for Elena to reject him and he'll go psychotic. It was in this episode he said he didn't care about Bonnie and was about to kill Shane even if it meant Bonnie losing control. Shane might be a master manipulator but he technically hasn't killed anyone, not something any of the others can say.
I understand that. But acting like that, he shouldn't be surprised that everyone hates him and wants to kill him. He likes to pretend like he is a kind of God or something. He is not. He thinks he can do what he wants, no matter who he kills or hurts, and anyone should just accept it, shut up and let him do it? He really needs therapy. And if you think he has a right to act like that, then, no offence, you need it too.
To go after the originals? They wouldn't have to, if the originals wouldn't destroying everyones life. A psychopath comes into town, kills and threatens your friends and family. Wouldn't you fight back? Would you just wait till he kills the last of our friends, till he completely destroys your life?
Make a deal with Klaus? If Klaus himself would stick to his deals, maybe it would be possible. But he changes his deals as he pleases. And besides, could you make a deal with the men who destroyed your life and killed your friends?
Caroline begged for help? She didn't wanna die. And she wouldn't be needing help if the psycho hadn't bit her. Why? To hurt Tyler.
Yes. Klaus needed a vampire for his ritual. And there aren't hundreds of thousands of vampires in the world. And there weren't 7 billion people in the world. He picked Jenna to hurt Elena. Cause Damon freed Caroline and Tyler and Klaus probably believed she had something to do with it. It was just to hurt her. Why else go to the trouble and force Katerina to call Jenna and lure her out of the house? He could simply pick someone form the street.
Yes, Elena would have died. And Jeremy? Klaus didn't care who he hurts. Jeremy had nothing to do with it.
How important family is to Klaus? He killed his mother, his father, hunted his siblings and daggered them for centuries for disagreeing with him. That was, of course, if he wasn't treating them like shit. Yeah, he really loves his family. How could I missed that?
He's not invincible. And he is not immortal. The reason they don't kill him is, that it would kill them too.
What I meant is, that he gets what he deserves. And being trapped is nothing compared to what he deserves.
They plan on having the cure by the time he gets free. But I would do something better. I'd use Bonnie to knock Klaus out. Long enough to get him in a cave, or something. Then I would use a boundary spell to lock him in. I would use a crystal or something (like Emily did on the tomb). And of course I would destroy the crystal, so that psycho stays in there for eternity. That would be perfect.
"A lesson that they refuse to learn"? Again. Who the fuck Klaus thinks he is that he can do what he wants, kill and hurt everybody for his pleasure and then he expects everyone to love him and worship him? He's no God. Just a psycho with too much power. Doesn't means he owns the world. Would be nice if you could accept that too.
They killed Finn to kill Klaus to protect themselves and the people in the town. True, they planned to kill Kol. But only, cause they knew that Kol wouldn't stop coming after Jeremy, not caring who he kills in the process. Neither would Klaus stop coming after them. Besides, when killed Kol he was attacking them and it was self defense. If Kol would have agreed to a truce with Elena against Klaus, they wouldn't kill him. Klaus and Kol were at war. Elena and Jeremy were between them.
It wasn't just for Elena. Try to use your brain and remember. How many innocent people did the family kill for fun? Or just cause they could? How many people lost their loved ones because of Klaus and his family? He wasn't just going after Elena. But also her friends. And as surprising as it may be for you, her friends too have a family. And he's going after them too.
a lot of people hate Klaus? :D that's the twist... Tyler maybe the good guy, the hero.. but he is act like a dick (good morning, sunshine!).. for me, he is a boring character.. season 1 Tyler was bettet, than this.
I was really hoping they wouldn't drag the island stuff out for longer than an episode, but alas, they did. I found the episode to be boring, which upsets me because I got really excited and pumped for it.
Here's the thing that you keep getting hung up on and I'm pretty much done with the personal attacks, so this is really it. Klaus does what he wants, acts like a demi-god, and gets away with it. Not because he is awesome or he is innately good or morally right or that's justice in the TVD world. He gets away with it because no one else is strong enough to stop him. He IS a demi-god. That's not arrogance, that's being nigh impossible to kill. It isn't ego if it's true. Tyler walking around like a hotshot and picking fights he can't win IS arrogance because morally right, justified or not, he can't back it up. The only card anyone can play against Klaus is to convince him to act otherwise and it is a heckuva lot easier to do that if you don't double-cross him, kill his family, or try to kill him. He's made no secret that if you cross him there will be retribution. And he has the skills and intelligence and power to back it up. Tyler could have left Klaus alone. He made a play, he lost. And he lost HUGE. Them's the breaks. Klaus is evil, but he is the biggest BAMF around and he doesn't have to follow rules if he doesn't want to because nobody can make him. It's a practical discussion not an issue of good vs evil or how things should be or justice or fairness. It's just common sense survival of the fittest.
I disagree with technically Shane hasn't killed anyone, he didn't use his hands....he used his knowledge.... those dozens and more people are dead because of Shane...he is a murderer....saying he isn't....is like saying Charles Manson isn't because he sent others to do it.....IMO
Actually quite a good point. Elena's plan was shit, they shouldn't have daunted Kol to get him into the house. Stefan convinced Rebekah to use the dagger on Kol instead of killing him for good. Klaus was ready to do that too. And they all walk with the excuse "he wanted to kill Jeremy", when Kol wanted to cut Jeremie's arms instead. At least Klaus isn't buying it. They should learn not to play with fire. If Klaus kills someone they care about like Matt for example, it would Elena's fault.
It seems Elena is already at Rebekah's throat for taking away her Stefan.
I didn't mean it for you to understand it but that they are no different in morality. Elena pictures herself as better person who can judge but now she is loosing to Rebekah for her plan with Kol. And I mean the collateral damage that she inflected.
It looked to me like Damon did it partly for entertainment. Klaus tortured people mostly for information too. But I agree that Damon is the most suspicious of them.
Caroline did it to distract Klaus and he allowed her.
Klaus is fucked up and conflicted. He can't express what he feels and like Damon acts out or pushes away. He expects people to betray him and they do. He is like a child, he doesn't know how to ask.
this was my favorite episode of the season, although i could have done without the boring shane scenes. Rebekah killed it in all her scenes and so did Caroline (someone freaking mentioned Jenna again). However, as much as I love Caroline, today Rebekah just made sure that Caroline now has to share the role of my favorite character with her, she was too good. I am really intrigued by what will happen with this new syllas guy. has he even been cast? i haven't heard about it. well done, the show is getting back on track imo
That is what I criticize about Klaus. Ty planned on kill him. Fine, take it out on Ty, not his mom that had nothing to do with it. It's not just that he kills innocents. I mean, sure, it's wrong. But he does it to hurt others on purpose. It's not an anonymous kill. You're thirsty and horny, you get a nice piece of ass at a bar, and fuck and kill your meal of choice. Like with Jenna or Carol he kills to hurt others. That is the difference between him and the gang. They killed Finn to kill Klaus and protect themselves and the town. That is the difference, honey. They didn’t kill him for fun. Or to hurt Klaus. But to kill Klaus and save the innocent people in town. It's the same when Becca killed Elena to kill Alaric and protect her family.
Damon did change. How long was it that he tortured and killed? Yes, Damon tortured Shane. But for him it wasn't sport or entertainment like it is for Klaus. Damon did it, cause he is the only one smart enough to realize, that Shane is bad news. The only one smart enough not to trust him, like the others do. And keeping secrets can bring them all in danger, can get them all killed. He did it to get answers and protect the others. Don't forget, Shane was talking about another massacre. I doubt Klaus would do it for the same reason. And I doubt Damon would really kill Shane.
No, I agree. Shane didn't kill anyone. He just convinced others to a mass murder. Like Aprils father who blew up 11 innocent people. Or when he let Ty free 12 hybrids just Klaus can kill them. And the guy in his office? I still believe, Shane manipulated him into killing himself to keep himself from talking.
"He IS a demi-god" No, he is not. He is as mortal as anyone else. The reason he still lives is, that killing him would kill the entire bloodline. Including the gang. That is why they don’t kill him. Not because he is immortal or can't be defeated. He can. The price is just too high. Not that it would stop me. I would just use Bonnie to break the bond that connects him to the others.
They can't convince Klaus to act otherwise. He does what he wants. That is why he has to be stopped.
"If you cross him there will be retribution" He kills innocents anyway. And when the gang wants retribution? What about that?
That is my point. Klaus thinks, because of his power, he can make his own rules and no one can stop him. But whatever he does, affects other people. And he thinks that the others will just sit there and let him get away with it? If people are attacked, they fight back. It was like that before he was turned. If Klaus would accept that and tried to adjust, he wouldn't have everybody hate him and trying to kill him.
Sure she can learn. But it will be hard to adjust. Remember, she was a vampire (one of the oldest and most powerful) for 1000 years. She probably can't even remember how it was being a human.
I didn't get the impression she wanted to jump Becca because of Stefan. They are not different in morally. Or maybe a bit. Well, Elena is at least not mocking about killing Kol or Finn. It's something. And yes, the vamps died after Kol died, and probably many of them were innocent (good, not deserving to die) and she killed without hesitation. But still she didn't tortured and killed innocents as Becca did. But I remember her in S1. She cried over a vampire that tried to kill her. She definitely changed. I blame Klaus. She was never that cold and ruthless before he came.
He didn't torture Shane for fun. He needed the information their survival could be depending on.
Oh, Klaus can express what he feels. He just likes to do it thru killing innocents. "He expects people to betray him and they do" Can you blame them? The way he behaves. A child? Ah, the Peter Pan Syndrome. Common among guys.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
ReplyDeleteTyler... he is a dick. :D Klaus should kill him..
ReplyDeletetyler has the right to be a dick. klaus killed his mother. but I guess that's already forgotten.
ReplyDeleteHe is not an asshole, because Klaus killed her mother... he is basicly a boring character.. as Matt or April.... He was patethetic, not Klaus.. when he offered that he will be Klaus' slave again.
ReplyDeletemaybe you forgot the part about why he did that
ReplyDeleteKlaus saved Caroline's life twice... course, the first and second time, it was Klaus fault. but I don't like Tyler and I am not the only person...
ReplyDeleteI don't think we're watching the same show. Klaus is a d-bag and the gang if not Tyler should kill him. Fixed it for you.
ReplyDeleteI think people need to stop messing with Klaus.
ReplyDeleteI mean guys, you killed Kol and Finn.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe that Klaus would bite Caroline.
ReplyDeleteThe Inuit have 32 words for boring and all of them describe this episode.
ReplyDeleteThe only memorable thing about this episode was Rebekah.
ReplyDeleteThis ep doesn't even qualify as a filler one.It is just it never happened.Plot holes and same repetitive stuff and stuff I did not care about.
At least,Charlie Bewley is gonna be in the next one.
Honestly I was not feeling this episode at all. It was too bad because I liked last week's. The only part that surprised me was Klaus stabbing Caroline.
ReplyDeleteIt was great!!!
ReplyDeleteStupid question.
Seems like Elena and Becca
could make peace.
And
Klaus? I don't think so.
Bonnie is so … I could kill her with my bare hands. Jeremy disappears. She finds him in chains and gagged and the most important thing is, how the path disappeared? Not "What are you doing?" "Why is Jeremy in chains?" "Why did you kidnap him?" Nothing? Just "What happened with the path?"
And that is my problem with Klaus. Ty tried to kill Klaus. Fine. Then Klaus should solve
ReplyDeletethis with Ty and not kill his mother, just cause she's the easier target and he can't find Tyler.
It's what he always does. Jenna died, cause Damon freed Ty and Caroline. Klaus probably believed it was Elenas idea.
And the same with Katerinas family. She turned, ruined his plan and disappeared. So he
massacred her entire family?
I don't think it has so much to do with expandable characters. It's just Klaus way.
He did it to save Caroline. Technically she's all he has left. Parents dead, uncle dead,
ReplyDeleteno siblings, …
Bu-hu, great hero Klaus. You just forgot to mention, that every time Caroline was in
ReplyDeletedanger, it was because of him.
ReplyDeleteI hope, she was just sweet-talking him into saving her.
ReplyDeleteIf you're trying to say Klaus has anything good inside him, explain me why he bit Caroline. I'm obviously too stupid to understand. He loves her? Cares for her? If you love someone, or just care for him, you don't kill him, just to hurt someone else. Or maybe you should have you moral compass checked.
True, Bonnie put Klaus there. But Klaus is convinced he is a God. Invincible, indestructible,
immortal, … I just enjoy it when he finally gets his ass kicked and has to admit that he is NOT all mighty.
Unfortunately guys like him are taken, dead or gay.
ReplyDeleteI'd still rather had a dick as lover than a fucking psychopath.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this so true???
ReplyDeleteFinn was the least threatening vampire around and killing him had nothing to do with protecting the town, they wanted Klaus dead and didn't care about collateral damage. Kol might have been psychotic but Stefan and Damon are just as bad. Damon has done things far more terrible things and on an impulse just because he's had his feelings hurt.
ReplyDeleteI hate them all. Most of all Damon, Stefan, Klaus and Elena. I don't know why I keep watching it. Must be inertia. I hope they all die in fire or find themselves a wall to smash their skulls with
ReplyDeleteI will throw my 2 cents in and say the ONLY original I care anything about is Elijah. The spin off was not going to be watched until they put him in it, now I am hoping it gets picked up.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if one of the old vampires take the cure if they don't just age rapidly and die? No one has mentioned that.
ReplyDeleteLiked this episode. It wasn´t the best nor the worst.
ReplyDeleteLoved all scenes with Rebekah. Laughed when Elena tried to stake her. Really Elena, like that could have worked?
The scene with Rebekah and Stefan where great. More vulnerable Becca is always good.
Silas is a creepy as ever. Almost felt sorry for him for a while, until the end. I knew he had lost someone, I just knew it.
And Damon. Again, really Elena? Like we didn´t all know that he wouldn´t want to take the cure. he likes being a vampire.
And it ´s ironic. The brother she pushed away wants the cure, the one is is sleeping with does not.
Klaus. What to say about him? I don´t know.
Then almost every vampire except Elena and Caroline would die too. Considering that Stefan and Damon are over a 100 years old, and no human is meant to live that long...
ReplyDeleteThere are plot holes and they only get bigger and bigger.
ReplyDeleteWhy not, i think they have money and she knows a lot about history and cultures, she could go to uni and have a proper life.
ReplyDeleteNice episode. Finally, even more people remembered the past.
ReplyDeleteElena and Rebekah's confrontation was about time.
ReplyDeleteKlaus killed Jenna because he needed a vampire for his spell.
ReplyDeleteHe hurt Caroline to teach them a lesson.
Can we talk about Rebecca making the best point ever? If we have to keep any original around, unless Elijah is inthe mix of course, can it be her?
ReplyDeleteI don´t know what to say about this episode. I am kind of tired of this hunting for cure, Silas and that suddenly everyone wants to be a human. I think they should rename this show to I Want To Be Human Diaries. I would rather see Elena as a vampire than useless human again, especially since she isn´t vampire too long.
ReplyDeleteyep, if they decide to take the cure, they would die. I think it would be an interesting twist. lol
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Elijah is my favourite but Kol had a lot of potential especially when he was talking to Elena about faith and how much he admired witches. It would have been great to explore his background.
ReplyDeleteI can see on all the comments that you all hate Klaus. I just love him. And Rebekah too.
ReplyDeleteThey make the show fun and interesting.
Dude. Disgusting.
ReplyDeleteAnyway the reason I spilled over this little rant about people in the past and their 'hubris' (that is a nice word, I like it) is that it is the same precise mindset Klaus employs.
ReplyDelete(Sorry if there are mistakes or if it's not understandable, English is
ReplyDeletenot my first language ^^) I'm having mixed-feelings about this episode,
there were great scenes but it was kind of boring too.
The all
cure plot is getting really annoying, it feels like it's never gonna
end. Besides all we learned is that Shane is even creepier than he
looked otherwise their time on the island was (for the moment) useless.
But at least Shane being crazy gave some action to the episode. I'm
waiting to see what he's going to do next and how it's going to end.
I
used to like hating Klaus because I loved him as a the "big villain"
but in this episode I think Tyler said it all : he was pathetic. Klaus
has done many horrible things but now he can't even teach his lesson
like he wanted to because he's supposed to love her, yet he tried to
kill her. Paradoxal much ? I mean, I didn't want Caroline to be dead but
I would like to see Klaus either bad or on the path of redemption, not
being good then bad then good again then evil and so on.. It's
irritating.
Tyler gloating, fine I understand. But it was stupid
to let Caroline get so close, I mean they all know that Klaus is
dangerous (even if he was less dangerous in the last episodes) and still
they are trying to make him mad. But I was glad that for once, they
remembered that Klaus is supposed to be the one they hate.
Rebekkah
alone bored me because we all get it that she wants the cure, she said
it again and again. But when she put Elena back in her place it was
funny to watch because seriously she's stronger and faster. And I'm
really enjoying her relationship with Stefan who I liked the most in
this episode. Stefan was really the best thing (just after Jeremy
shirtless *.*) because he finally said out loud that taking the cure
would be for him and I loved Stefan being all independant and not all
loved dovey about Elena, and he was the only one who understood that
they needed to work together and not try to kill, torture or kidnapp.
Really Stefan was awesome and I'm enjoying his character way much since
he hasn't been in love with Elena.
I want to shake up Bonnie and
scream "stop being so stupid and naive dammit" because seriously, she's
doing magick, a fire path suddenly appears to find Jeremy and she
doesn't think for a second to, I don't know, call the strong vampire
with her or wait for the other or just say to someone where she's going ?
No just follow the path to wherever he's gonna lead you even if at the
end there is a super dangerous and crazy guy who kidnapped Jeremy.
Finally
Damon made me so angry. He's my favorite character but I couldn't stand
him. He doesn't want the cure, okey I get it. But Elena was human
before and that didn't prevent him from falling in love with her even if
there were much more problems. Yet now that she does want to be with
him no matter what, he's coming up with all the excuses possible. "Human
and vampire can't work", "Your feelings probably aren't real", "You and
Stefan will end up together", "I want to stay a vampire even if that
means suffering for all eternity by not being with the woman I love".
Before I thought that bad things happened to him all the time but right
now he's the one who's keeping him from being happy. And what makes me
even more mad is that it's so out of character compared to the Damon who
was selfish and didn't care about what he have to do to get what he
wants.
So yeah real mixed-feeling but the end of the episode managed to catch my attention.
(Sorry if there are mistakes or if it's not understandable, English is not my first language ^^) I'm having mixed-feelings about this episode, there were great scenes but it was kind of boring too.
ReplyDeleteThe all cure plot is getting really annoying, it feels like it's never gonna end.
Your English is very good
ReplyDeleteAnd that rises a question: What is so bad about being a vampire? Immortality, speed and strength, ability to compel. Blood thirst can be controlled. What not to like?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, my favourite scenes of the episode were the ones with Rebekah in. If anybody deserves the cure, she does. And she easily had the best quotes in the episode, imo. The thing that's keeping me watching the show right now is the anticipation of seeing who will take the cure.
ReplyDeleteI don´t know. Ask Elena. Maybe if you want kids? Or have family or other people that you love that are humans and die while you live...?
ReplyDeleteUhm... What kind of show would that be? The human diaries?
ReplyDeleteDo you really think either Damon or Stefan are going to take the cure??
ReplyDeleteDamon, no. Stefan.. Eeeh, I don´t know.
ReplyDeleteKlaus is no hero. I doubt that he has done one selfless thing in all of his years as a vampire.
ReplyDeleteHe is still pretty darn interesting though.
Elena is a special case. Ready to kil many people for the unproven cure.
ReplyDeleteYou don't need to be human to have a family. Kids could be adopted. Turn the kids when they grow up - they will be with you again.
Elena is special indeed. A mass murder too.
ReplyDeleteEeeh, not sure i like the idea of turning ones children. Feels wrong.
I meant grown up ones and if they want to. Or turning sick children would work too. I actually wonder how many illnesses you could cure with a drop of the vampire blood.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
ReplyDeleteTrue, they didn't care about collateral damage.
ReplyDeleteKilling Finn was completely okay.
Yeah, I knew you meant adults. Still...
ReplyDeleteThat could be interesting. Cancer? HIV?
Ah, you mean Rebekah. Money is always helpful. Knowledge about history or culture not. Except, she planned on being a teacher. Who would be a better teacher for history, than someone, who lived it? What I meant is, that she is not used to live and act like she's human. Think. She can compel every one if things are not going her way. And she's used to take a risk, knowing nothing can kill her. I think, if she becomes human, she'll soon die (welcome to the wonderful world of mortals) or she would want to turn back.
ReplyDeleteYes, Becca saved Elena and Elena gave her the stake.
ReplyDeleteMy point was that people criticise Klaus for killing innocents, like Carol, instead of going after the people who wronged him, like Tyler, while the MFG did the same to Finn and everyone justifies it.
ReplyDeleteDamon hasn't changed much, all it would take is for Elena to reject him and he'll go psychotic. It was in this episode he said he didn't care about Bonnie and was about to kill Shane even if it meant Bonnie losing control. Shane might be a master manipulator but he technically hasn't killed anyone, not something any of the others can say.
There are no harmless vampires and since when is killing vampires ever wrong? They're vampires.
ReplyDeleteI understand that.
ReplyDeleteTo go after the originals?
Yes, God forbid he would be vulnerable.
What I meant is, that he gets what he deserves. And being trapped is nothing compared to what he deserves.
ReplyDeleteThey plan on having the cure by the time he gets free.
I meant it sarcastically. Klaus is not even an anti-her like Dexter.
ReplyDeleteExactly, he has done not one selfless thing in 1000 years, since he was turned.
a lot of people hate Klaus? :D that's the twist... Tyler maybe the good guy, the hero.. but he is act like a dick (good morning, sunshine!).. for me, he is a boring character.. season 1 Tyler was bettet, than this.
ReplyDeletezzZZzzZ
ReplyDeleteI was really hoping they wouldn't drag the island stuff out for longer than an episode, but alas, they did. I found the episode to be boring, which upsets me because I got really excited and pumped for it.
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing that you keep getting hung up on and I'm pretty much done with the personal attacks, so this is really it.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with technically Shane hasn't killed anyone, he didn't use his hands....he used his knowledge.... those dozens and more people are dead because of Shane...he is a murderer....saying he isn't....is like saying Charles Manson isn't because he sent others to do it.....IMO
ReplyDeleteDamon loves Elena, and he killed her brother. So why Klaus couldn't love Caroline and still hurt her?
ReplyDeleteWell, nobody forces you to watch the show you know.
ReplyDelete"Since when is killing vampires ever wrong?"
ReplyDeleteWhen they're the main characters on a TV show? :)
Ha! Not wrong, just inconvenient and highly unlikely. :)
ReplyDeleteActually quite a good point.
ReplyDeleteBut she'll learn. it's not rocket science.
ReplyDeleteIt seems Elena is already at Rebekah's throat for taking away her Stefan.
Well, it would their decision.
ReplyDeleteAll of them. I'm more curious about Depression, Alzheimer and Down Syndrome.
this was my favorite episode of the season, although i could have done without the boring shane scenes.
ReplyDeletethis (sans the elijah part, i prefer rebekah by far)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Interesting.
ReplyDeleteWell God damn, Rebekah is totally right. She's like the most likeable character on the show right now! They better not dagger her again.
ReplyDeleteThat is what I criticize about Klaus.
ReplyDeleteThey killed Finn to kill Klaus and protect themselves and the town.
To you everyone who isn't a psychopathic mass murderer is boring.
ReplyDelete"Morning sunshine. You look pathetic" was just great. What's wrong in enjoying Klaus situation? He had it coming. This and worse.
No, Ty was a complete ass in S1. I kinda like him better mow.
ReplyDeleteThey can't convince Klaus to act otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the impression she wanted to jump Becca because of Stefan.
Oh my God... lot of people like Tyler... :D I thought, Klaus had more fans than Tyler.. probably in the USA, everybody is Tyler fan.. xD
ReplyDelete
