  1. Wow...just...wow. This show just gets better. :D

  2. You know, as soon as I saw the intro sequence cut out, I figured that it was the virus, but nope. Nice to finally see what goes on over on the relevant list. Assets get tagged in blue instead of yellow, and if I'm not mistaken, and the red tags on the flyby sequences were pretty cool. Also, really liked the little touch of Fusco and Leon being tagged with white by the relevant side. Almost like both halves of the Machine have no clue what the other side is doing.

Oh, and three glitches I think. I guess that's going to be the standard going forwards until we get closer to V-Day.

  3. LOVED the Easter Egg JJ left us! Too bad Harold's voicemail was full! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  4. Meh. Okay, I guess, but I missed Reese and Finch; not keen on seeing them shunted to the side like that. And was it just my TV, or my signal, or did other folk have a hard time hearing the dialogue over the loud incidental music?

    ReplyDelete
  5. So amazing and Epic. J Nolan was gr8 co-writing and directing. He was pretty cool in the live chat/tweet too.

    ReplyDelete
  6. By the way guys. You must listen to a terrific and really the only Relevant podcast on POI, it's called Podcast of Interest.com, @PodofInterest. Amazing theories and character talk & feedback. On iTunes.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I missed Reese and Finch too. Best part of the episode was the last 15 minutes. It's what made me vote great.

    ReplyDelete
  8. This is clearly the most mythology-based episode of POI, and one of the best ones since the Pilot. It wasn't great. It wasn't awesome. It was PERFECT.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I had a terrible time hearing the dialogue. I'm going to have to watch again (with earbuds) to pick up the other half of what was said. Glad you mentioned it. I thought I needed a hearing aid.

    ReplyDelete
  10. i loved the episode. root was back too. this time i noticed all glitches.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I didn't have any trouble with the dialogue, and I had a thunderstorm going on in the background for me. And while I also missed Reese and Finch, there really wasn't a better way to do an episode that focused on the Relevant numbers than like this, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  12. What was the number? I only caught the first 6 digits before the scene changed.

    ReplyDelete
  13. OMG PERFECT, without words................is so clever see the entire episode of the relevant side, Samantha Shaw is a crazy badass, a female Reese version..........I miss more Finch, Reese, Carter, Fusco and Bear in this episode, but I understand completely, because is the other side, it's like the government works, know how they catch the numbers, know how the operate is just incredible. The blue box around Shaw and her friend is a clever move............another think, the open scene is amazing............at the end wow great dialogue between Finch and Shaw..............and more ROOT is crazy and most danger female villain out there, I think she is more and more close to find where the machine is hidden...........I like the Jonathan Nolan direction, I think he have potential and I hope in the future his direct more episodes or maybe more movies.

Plus: I think most of the people will think this episode is very strange because is different of everyone else has usual to watch on TV, I am a very receptive person so this is idea for me is fantastic (I watched Lost, Fringe and I know they blow mind everytime, so POI is another show incredible and intelligent tv show for me, make me think, make me laugh, make happy with the fight scenes, great main characters and even the coadjuvantes characters like Zoe, Leon and now Shaw), amazing have great writers and excellent director, by the way, this is a good start for Jonah Nolan, he directed the episode very well.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Assets aren't tagged in yellow on the irrelevant side - people who know about the Machine are tagged in yellow. Fusco and Leon are still tagged in white on the irrelevant side. But the blue tag on the relevant side does seem to be for assets.

  15. Hell of an ep and a fantastic intro to a really interesting character that is Shaw... Nice to see what happens on the "other side" of the machine's works... Loved that Root is back in form worming her way into mucking things up with her conniving ways. Great job by Nolan on the directing job and I look forward to seeing more of Shaw in the future...

  16. I LOVED it!!!!!

I gotta watch it again. I cannot make any sense now. Lots of awesome moments. "Do me a favor. Don't shoot me again."

I just freaking loved it....and her! I can't remember Sarah Shahi doing this kind of part before.

Great episode, loved that they're really diving deep into the organization that uses the Machine.

Shaw makes a great addition to the recurring characters list and Amy Acker as a psychopath with a mission has always been awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I can't imagine having all these loose threads for no reason!

    ReplyDelete
  19. "...can produce relevant numbers by manufacturing evidence? LIke he did with Aquino? The implications of that are staggering"

I need to rewatch it, but that is my initial take on it too! -That they can "create" numbers and ultimately frame jobs to suit their needs!! I think the "red" implies threats to Team Machine, so it seems that there is suddenly a lot more of them...I keep thinking one reason that could be is because something really BIG (organised crime) is about to happen and that all these things/people we are viewing lately are interrelated to this threat... (which could very well come down to Root)...

    ReplyDelete
  20. As much as I missed not having much of Reese and Finch that was easily my favorite episode of this show ever. Sarah Shahi was great in her role and I would love to see her come back for more episodes or even better yet become part of the team.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is what you hear when you call the number.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wow!! That was the best episode of the show so far!! Very intriguing plot and even without the usual screen time of Reese and Finch it was still brilliant. Sarah Shahi was awesome and now i am anxious to see her again on the show..

    ReplyDelete
  23. Pay attention from the beginning when you do, because there's one right at the beginning when the opening sequence gets cut off! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  24. One of the best episodes PoI has ever seen. Season 2 is sooooo good. I think that currently it's the best action/drama show out there. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Cool! Thanks! I'll be more on the look out!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Not many shows can say that they get better and better, most fall prey to the "Sophmore Slump" but not POI. This show builds on its mythology, its characters, its world in such a unique way that it is arguably one of the most intelligent and self-aware shows out there. The little things with the color tags the machine uses, to the couple glitches indicating to the most observant of us that they're building towards that date in 4 months. And even through all the seriousness and intelligence, there's the humorous... well humor that is done in such a way that it doesn't take away from a scene but adds to it.

Now to the episode. At first I was thinking, are we really going to see the whole episode from Shaw's view? But I think once I realized that I just sat back and enjoyed the ride and enjoyed what they were showing us: the "relevant" side that the government controls(?) and uses with similar Reese/Finch teams. They also dropped important plot points like who that guy that Root is working for is, he's Control or whoever that is running this branch of the government that uses the machine to stop terrorists. So is he good or not, I don't believe so, but the show has shown us that it isn't just black and white.

Which leads us to Root and why she chose to become that guy's assistant since he's connected to the machine. We got a decent amount of Root scenes, and while I was hoping that she wouldn't kill Shaw, I was strangely turned on by that scene (possibly because it involved a sweaty, tied up Sarah Shahi and the adorable Amy Acker).

Anyway, it was nice to see a different view of the POI world. And the lack of Reese/Finch, made their appearances all the more awesome. Finch's conversation with Shaw, Shaw escaping and noticing a bunch of guys shot in the knee, and even Bear/Leon at the end were great appearances (although I wish we got to see more of them). I look forward to Shaw's return, because of course she's going to return, and I like that our team is ever expanding its network (Reese, Finch, Fusco, Carter, Leon, Zoe, and now potentially Shaw).

    Brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Man, I just HATE when writers forget who the main characters are... For God sake, Shaw is a bitch! I keep waiting and waiting... and Reese just didn't beat her up! Damn!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah! Pennsylvania Two told Shaw how he had fabricated evidence so he would be eliminated. Which by the way made curious as to where they stored the machine and how the building looks like!

So weird to see him out of his office too!

That's actually a pretty good suggestion! Though I doubt it's Root, she has always preferred working alone and has done so as well. But it's definitely organized and big, perhaps the people Stanton was working for?

    ReplyDelete
  29. InvestedInYourFuture22 February 2013 at 23:22

Best episode ever or THE best episode ever? I can't really decide.

    This had:
    - Root being a badass cheery adorable sociopath she is.
    - A new badass female character being introduced and kicking ass.
    - A new machine square color being introduced.
    - More of the Machine lore.

ALL in ONE HOUR of pure undiluted awesomeness.

    9000/5

    ReplyDelete
  30. Stanton's people is good guess!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well for one thing, Shaw is a parallel image of Reese,as they are both now former black opps, have been presumed dead, and have both worked for Finch-related tech, let alone their similar personality traits and military fighting skills...If we can accept Reese being the way he is, then we should have no problem accepting Shaw, especially considering what she learns.

The writers didn't forget who the main cast are, but instead wanted the audience to realize how isolated/alienated Team Machine has been along with the potential that these HUGE outside forces are suddenly threatening their own existence (It's kind of Emmanuel Kant's 'everything in and of itself', as this episode does a double wammy on the the perspective of relativity, as seemingly our guys are connected to these threats --and maybe, as even Finch suggested, they might inadvertently be making their own threats every time they get involved), and because we see the Government misuses the tech that Finch and Ingram sold them, as they found a way to precurse the results!

It's good to be able to see how our guys might look to someone else. It was a fresh approach to introduce a lot of new things, from a black opps division that uses that sold tech, to new potentially reoccurring characters, to seeing the machine suddenly show tons of threats, to this Project Northern Lights makes where ever this going very climatic and you can feel the change of the tide...

  32. SO good cant wait for next episode, when is it on?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I know I'm against the majority here but I'm not loving this style. I hope this is the only episode where they do it like this. And Shaw is my least fav character, even lesser than Mr. Tao character. The guys just helped her and she didn't even thank them. I guess she'd appear again in the future but I personally hope only for one episode.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Me three. Even the scenes in Berlin were decent. Good set and costume direction. Only the logo on the policeman's shoulder was completely off.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Aqueno sounds very similar how Michael Giacchino's name is pronounced. If the "G" is silent. lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. What was Amy Acker's role again in ALIAS?? Good that I've ordered the final season yesterday so a rewatch is in order. :D

    ReplyDelete
  37. That's only 2 weeks, cant see it listed anywhere on here, eps 17-19 are listed as TBA on stv+
I hope your right, could not wait any longer than that.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Try now. We've just got the episode dates in from CBS for the next 3 episodes

    http://stvplus.com/show/128/Person-of-Interest#episodes

    ReplyDelete
  39. No,Amy wasn't in Alias Sarah was in Alias. She played Will's co worker and semi love/like interest for a few episodes..

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wasn't it a great episode i knew you would like it! I didn't notice the logo, seems all shows get something wrong. Even the 'detectives on Law & Order use to wear their badges upside down this way people knew they weren't real cops while shooting..

    ReplyDelete
  41. Though I'm not sure the ''new'' is such a good things for the machine, as he is marking them with red. I liked the addition of the blue boxes, now we know how the ''relevant'' teams are marked. I was surprised that the machine knew how to or could make that distinction. Since it doesn't do that for Carter, Fusco, Leon, Zoe. It marks them in white.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Right, DarthLocke4 just tried to confuse me there, hah!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow,i don't remember her being in it! Funny you should say that for i just started a rewatch a couple of weeks ago.I'm at the end of ep. 1.04 with Will trying to find out how Danny died and he goes to Danny's apartment and sees the street camera unbeknownst to Sidney.....

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nice, well I first have to finish Game of Thrones before starting Alias. My problem is often starting something, but then not keeping up til I've finished it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yep. Amy Acker is a pain in the a** villain in season five, apart of The Shed and Prophet 5...she was co-workers with Rachel Gibson (who parallels Sydney in season 1), and like her character Root, Kelly Payton abducts Arvin Sloan.and forces him to continue to work towards Rambaldi....(I just started season 5 last night on my rewatch, so I'm about to get Amy Acker overdose!)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Na, my doppleganger confused (In her universe Amy Acker wasn't cast as Kelly Payton, instead it was Rebecca Mader!) ;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh man, i just went and checked out ep 5.12 for i had no recollection of Amy being in it.I only skimmed thru it but i don't even remember seeing Will in it...Its now time to get serious about this rewatch! It seems Netflix and i are going to be getting mighty close,ha!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have experienced the same,it depends on the show. Next month i'll watch S1 &2 of GoT in time for S3 to start..That's the one good thing about GoT,it only has 10 eps per season!

    ReplyDelete
  49. First: 00:10, second: 10:49 third: 24:29 and the last 35:55.

    ReplyDelete
  50. This was the best way to show what goes on at the ''other side'' of the people working with the Machine, which I'm sure will be important later. For the first time, we know things that our two main characters don't.

    ReplyDelete
  51. No. It doesn't sound good at all...

    ReplyDelete
  52. So True. It does sound a bit like Giachhino!:D

    ReplyDelete
  53. AH! I'll be watching s1&2 of GOT too just in time for S3! :D

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'll make the popcorn! :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Another REALLY good point!

I also realized despite the machine telling us she's an asset, Shaw also shares a bend with Stanton, as she may seek out revenge, but honestly I think Shaw is more reasonable and does actually have compassion (Michael, Louis)...

    ReplyDelete
  56. What an amazing episode! TPTB really turned the show on it's side and gave us a completely different view. Kudos to the writers for keeping this show fresh and always fun to watch. POI is one of my last "good" shows to watch on the regular network channels.

My favorite Reese scene had to be when we see him the second time as he tells Shaw not to shoot him again! Great to see Leon/Miles again too! Of course, the return of Root and how she is manipulating her position with the senator made me smile and we now have two strong female characters (Root and Shaw) going head to head with all these men!

Can't wait for the final showdown between Reese, Finch and Root. So far this story line is setting up to be one excellent ride!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. there is no relevant and irrelevant side of the machine. There is one machine. "The ultimate entity"

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes, but it still categorizes, meaning it has PRIORITIES, which ultimately means it's taking a side: survival of the fittest and seemingly in Finch's best interests. There would be no point to exploring artificial intelligence and/or a relationship between a man and a machine, if it wasn't meant to explore the human side of those things, including "judgments" and it's socio-political flaws...

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well, I generally refered to "Almost like both halves of the Machine have no clue what the other side is doing" and I can't agree that there is more than one machine. You call it versions, but I don't think it's a proper word.

The Machine is intelligent indeed, so it makes choices. For example the day it decided to help Reese find Finch. Admin has forbidden it to do it, but it behaves like human being - so it changed it mind. Therefore, when it see any threat, it decides whether it's relevant or irrelevant (and it's not about "worth saving" or "not worth saving", good/evil/ethics etc., relevance is only about terrorism - does it threaten homeland security or not). Relevant numbers are sent to the Government, irrelevant to Finch. But still, there is one Machine that categorise and send numbers - only it does so to different people.

Ethics of the Machine? There is some, but not at this point. I have a theory that if the Machine has more numbers than Reese and Finch can deal with (because to be honest, New York is so huge city, that there should be more than we see), it picks up the numbers that are more likely to be safed (or more important to society, whatever). But it's only my theory. :) I base it on the episode, when Donnelly kidnapped Reese. You probably remember, when a few telephones rang at the same time. I don't think that the Machine would be so 'pushy', if it wasn't about Reese - very important person for Finch. Still, "relevance" is about terrorism, we had better not mess it up. And there is one Machine, the thing is it makes choices.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yes, but Finch's part is also segregating people. It's showing us differences in kinds of people in relation to the former irrelevant numbers, where most likely it's not "showing" the same "set" of relevance to the Government. Because clearly Finch's version deemed Shaw an "asset", where the government doesn't see her that way, but instead a threat -and they were able to have their version of the technology spit out her and Michael's number... so there has to be a separation between each's parts (Finch's & the Governments) priorities, despite it is all made from the same source.

IMO the episode title and ides presented are making a point that 'Relevance' is in the eye of the beholder, because (as Pierce brought up a few episodes ago) no matter how technology changes the need for human connection doesn't, because we all want to be relevant to someone or something, but "what" and "who" might become a trick, when technology allows us to connect to more at a faster rate...It makes everything much more interrelated and much more complicated in figuring out relativity to relevance.

Finch himself also made a point when explaining to Shaw why she might not want to go on a revenge kick, because sometimes the more you get involved, the more problems you make (and we can apply this to relevant and irrelevant people as well, and even what Finch and Reese have been doing-everytime they help someone, they also have potential to make new/more enemies putting more people and the machine in danger)

So far Finch's machine (or the master/head) isn't course correcting the Government's version when mistakes are made and that's because they have found a way to precurse it (create situations to trick it). Unless they lie about what's in front of them (like a blue meaning asset and being able to get the machine to spit out "blue" numers), then they have to be using the machine differently and ultimately that makes them different from each other. (alternate versions of the same tech)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Cheers, Thanks. cant seem to see episode lists getting this error...Fatal error: Call to a member function result_array() on a non-object in /home/spoilert/public_html/stvplus.com/application/models/feeditemmodel.php on line 222

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think,
    yellow = irrelevant list asset
    blue = relevant list asset

    ReplyDelete
  63. Would the Machine list Root as an asset though? She was yellow in Firewall because it had fooled the Machine that she was in danger. After that, she became red (threat to the Machine).

    ReplyDelete
  64. Whatever color she is assigned, I think she will sort of be the exception. We know she wants to free the machine (I have no idea what it entails), but we don't yet know if the machine deems that as a threat to it's operations. But unless she poses an imminent threat, she sort of has to be given a yellow square and not a indigo one because the those are assigned exclusively to terrorist activities. Also, she knows about the machine, so it can't be white.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I also think the same.

    ReplyDelete
  66. PODCAST of Interest is AWESOME, I would recommend listening to it to all POI fans too.
    You will enjoy it.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yes João, POI is another show incredible and intelligent tv show, well said.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Introducing Shaw was awesome, Sarah Shahi was really the one for the Job.

and Nolan did it well, I would say PERFECT on every level.

Not to forget I loved it that we saw all of our avengers in this episode & Happy to see Leon.
    Love Bear too.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yellow = People who know about the Machine (Finch, Reese, Ingram, Root, Aquino, etc)
White = ''Standard'' (Carter, Fusco, everyone else)
    Blue = Asset, apparently (Shaw)
Red = Threat to the Machine or Finch (Reese and Fusco (S1), Kara)
White/red = Imminent threat to POI (Snow (to Kara); nameless hitmen most of the time)
    Something like that, I think!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Really cool episode! I really loved that Shaw was the ''main character'' in this one, and she kicked ass throughout the whole thing. Seeing her with Root, Reese, Finch and even Leon felt really epic somehow. Can't wait to see her again!
Interesting Machine detail of the week... I noticed there were a lot of red squares in this one during the transition scenes, where they always used to be white. Red squares usually mean threats to the Machine. The second screencap is from 2x15, and the first from this episode:

    ReplyDelete
  71. Wow about this two screen, thanks Jim.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I loved everything about this episode!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Awesome:

    The Bad Robot stuff:

*4 additional BR Alumni in the episode: Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Fringe-Guest), Ken Leung (Lost), Amy Acker (Alias), Sarah Shahi (Alias)

*Sinclair is also surname name of one shot (Michelle Forbes) scientist/engineer in Alias Maggie Sinclair.

*Government Projects also exist in Alias (Christmas, Helix), Fringe (Elephant, Jellyfish), and Undercovers (Nocturne).

*Faking deaths is also a staple note of Alias.

*Shaw is also the surname of the Blooms CIA boss in Undercovers.

*Leon/Miles Juxtaposition: Miles liked rough scary women, Leon does not.

    * Shaw and Finch conversation = wink back to Michael Emerson's Lost character 'man behind the curtain'. (Note: "Wizard of Oz" common reference: Felicity, Lost, Fringe, Alcatraz, Revolution)

    About the episode:

Might just be my favorite yet! I loved how we focused on Shaw and Michael's story and had Reese and Finch be secondary to their story playing on their international landscape perspective! But so sad that Michael had to die. He was so likable .. (and the whole time I could hear John Noble trying to remember/pronounce Mr. Meagar's name!). Hope Shaw and some of the other characters introduced in the past few episodes will reoccur and/or create their own agency! Sarah Shahi seriously rocked it! And Jonas Nolan's direction was great and especially cinematic!

Introduces interesting things: Black Opps Division: Intelligence Support Activity with a non existent RESEARCH division. Wilson connected to the Special Council guy...

Dr. Akino or Aqueno? I don't know why but it sounds very familiar.

    Project Northern Lights Ideas:

Northern Lights is a name for "Aurora Borealis", Aurora is Latin for "Sunrise" = dawn of new era?
Also "charged particles" - Some kind of weapon?
    Synonymous for "light show"???

Alaska (US bought from Russia) - Location of headquarters or project has to with satellites in this area????

Philip Pullman's first in His Dark Material's trilogy (unlikely because I doubt we're going into multiple universe. However it does explore extreme religion and science).

That's all I have for now. Did you guys find more blue-screen? I missed it.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Me too!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. It seems like were building to a really big threat...Thanks for the screencap comparison.

    ReplyDelete
  76. 100% agree!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I thought Kelly Payton was bad, but Root makes her look rather sane! But super clever no doubt!

And of course I agree with the LOST and FRINGE (Bad Robot) comparisons! -They always make me think, make me cry, and make me smile! Obviously J. Nolan was the right the person to be in charge of this! So good all the time! :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Many thanks Jim.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Wow DarthLocke4, really Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I really liked the way it was done, because thematically the past three episodes have made a point about how "isolated" our team machine has been up until this point by having their POI's be people that connect to the grander schemes of things (which also then plays on the roles the characters had in their pasts).

Also by having Shaw possibly more extreme than Reese, we see how our POI guys appear to others and lets us realize that there is more than one side of this thing we're exploring, despite wanting to be able to root for our gang...

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yep,i thought of Alias also! The Shaw character reminded me so much of Sidney minus the martial arts. I loved seeing her and Root together,so glad they didn't call each other bitch, and of course Root had to get away,i would have liked their scene to have been a little longer but...

Just so many great moments. What a smart move keeping Reese and Finch as the secondary's,it made their scenes so much more powerful..

    Love what you wrote...as usuall,ha!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. I find just four blue screen.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Great episode. I usually don't like it when the leads disappear. However, this time it worked perfectly. I love that POI keeps adding these intriguing, complicated recurring characters. Just goes to show, It's not your typical serial crime drama.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Oh wow, four! And I didn't see one of them!? :D

Hopefully I'll catch a couple on my rewatch!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Thanks!

It was nice to see her kick-a** here! Her role on Alias was humorous, but mostly inconsequential! -But I do love that scene where she goes and picks Will up at some weird location after he was brutally assaulted Will just decides to break up with her right on the spot and then she makes him get out of her car! LOL!

Really I guess it is another juxtaposition/simlatude, because Jenny and Will used street cameras to begin investigating into the murder of Danny Heck... but Jenny specifically didn't show any physical fighting ability, but her character still had a bite.

    ReplyDelete
  86. That's right, when Will went to the apt and saw the street camera out the window! And when she throws him out the car was something,i laughed thinking poor Will, once again he gets the shaft even when he dishes it out,lol.... :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Especially with the last few episodes have been going, it does feel like we're building towards something grander and possibly more international! I think it would be great if we were to get into a plot to stop world domination (or something) and that our POI-Team has to focus on way more than New Yorkers, although New York could still be central for operations on both sides...

I'm SO glad that CBS let Bad Robot does what it usually does best, serialization building to things that can open a lot of doors for it's serious fans. Often their season one stuff does end up feeling like a prequel, because it's seasons 2 and 3 that tend to give the biggest and more interesting game changes. It lets us get very involved as viewers. So I'm with you. I think we're on the verge of changing direction!

    ReplyDelete
  88. "And was it just me, or was that fancy little party where Shaw met up with Special Counsel in the same building/spot from the beginning of "The Fix" where Zoe returns the gun to the corrupt cop?"
I'm not sure, but I think you might be right! -If so, nice catch! :D

I had the opposite experience with Ken Leung. I knew he was listed in the PR and I saw his name in the opening credits, but the whole episode I was like, Where are you?! LOL! But to have in the final sequences as the Ambulance driver was cool

  89. Wow, just wow! So much happened and it's hard to describe what really stood out. A lot of the mythology stuff was great, the plot advanced good and great introduction to the Sam Shaw character.

Root really is up to no good isn't she? Damn. And what's with the machine going haywire? There were red crosses everywhere instead of the usual white ones.

Also Pennsylvania Two from Special Counsel, or should I say the ISA?, can produce relevant numbers by manufacturing evidence? LIke he did with Aquino? The implications of that are staggering.

  90. I loved the different perspective of the episode. I know people elsewhere were complaining about the lack of Reese and Finch, but it made more sense to show the episode from Shaw's POV. Think about it, Finch said they were having a hard time keeping up with her. I could only imagine this one playing about from Team Machine's side would be a lot of running around and lost chases. Doesn't seem as interesting to me, but that's just me. Having to see Reese and Finch do their normal thing + Shaw running around being a bad ass and getting to all the things we did would be too rushed for one episode. And I liked the change. There's more to POI than only saving the Irrelevants, so it's nice that we got to see something a bit different!

We also learned a lot more about the workings of the Machine and how it goes about dealing with relevant threats, which we wouldn't otherwise get to see if we spend the hour following Reese around New York.

Plus, more glitches! I think there were 4 this time, which is more than any other episode so far. Ruh rohs...

Also interesting to learn that even though we only see Special Counsel calling shots where it concerns the Machine, he's actually not the top of the totem pole.

Aaand, another episode where Amy Acker was left out of the press release. I almost missed her name appearing in the credit roll early on. Twice in a row now, I wonder how many more times characters/actors will be kept off the list? I like the surprise of it, though now that we know Root is undercover in Special Counsel's office, if they're going to reveal he's in the episode, they might as well put her down too. Cat's out of the bag at this point!

    In all, great episode! :D
