Much as I like Mathew Davis, Alona Tal & Robert Knepper..... it's just not grabbing me and I watch too much TV anyhow so I think this episode was my last.
This show isn't doing anything for me either.. its trying to be clever but it just comes across as flavourless.
Also its visual style is just shit. Unnecessary overly shaky cinematography and a bunch of other stuff that isn't even worth the effort listing. Wont be tuning in next week.
It's doing it for me. I love how unique this show is, how different it is. Yeah, sure, there's room for improvement...but this is episode 2, and I already like it a lot. The fact that it has haters makes me like it even more.
The Following is a stupid and misguided comparison, but seeing as people are doing it: I prefer Cult. By a long way. The Following is cliche ridden, thinly written and majorly predictable. And I WANTED to love The Following. So far, Cult hasn't disappointed me in these ways at all.
Finally watched it, and it's still interesting to me to keep going. I like the "meta-ness" of the show and am enjoying it so far. Am trying not to compare it to the Following (which I love so far) to let this show stand on it's own merits. The move to Fridays doesn't bode well for this show, but I'll keep this on my docket for now
After I watched the first ep, I was afraid it would not do well. It is a show you have to really watch and think about, there are to many people that just want fake "reality" shows where no thinking is required. I am enjoying the show, and am glad it is moving to Friday, I won't have to record it at a later time from West Coast feed.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It settles into its own voice
