As we reported earlier, the BBC announced that Doctor Who will now be available in 3D.

We'd like to know what you think of 3D.

 1. As long as you don't have to watch it in 3D, I suppose it could work but because of an eye condition I've had my whole life, I can't see 3D. It only looks darker or pixilated depending on the technique used to render it.

 2. I couldn't care less about 3D. What I'm concerned with is that the viewer was promised a huge anniversary year that would have more Who than ever. We've been given the opposite. We're getting less Doctor Who than any year since the reboot and they're tossing us all these puff piece side projects to distract us from that fact.

 3. The problem is they'll shoot scenes specifically to look good in 3D ie. objects flying at the camera or particles floating/flying around. They'll look odd in 2D like watching the 2D version of a movie.

 4. Oh is this the big thing... was kinda hoping for an epic story. Not a gimmick that few will see...

 6. I didn't really even think of it as a matter of a "year of Doctor Who". I've always kinda thought it would be status-quo and one (hopefully kick-ass) special.

 7. I could live with "status quo" but we won't even be getting that.

 8. I despise 3D (it triggers migraines for me), but as long as I can get it in 2D I'm fine. Yes, there will be scenes that I'll be able to tell were meant to be 3D, but I hope it won't affect the experience.

 9. The only 3D I have seen that is worthy of being called 3D was Avatar.

 10. Yeah, they'll probably add sparkles coming out of his wand, er, I mean sonic screwdriver.

 11. Why is everyone having this obsession with 3D? I really don't see how it enhances movies, let alone tv shows. :)
