The dragon size looks perfect to me. The camera is close and might make it look bigger than it is but I do think making them slightly bigger than the book each season is a good idea.
Because the growth spurt they make between aSoS and aDwD was because Martin had to throw out the 5 year plan haha
No I understand that without scale they looked deceptively large flying towards the ship, and they need to be bigger to be more imposing faster, but I still thought they looked bigger than I expected them to honestly.
I mean Season 3 picks up where Season 2 left off (no time jumps) so I assumed we would see slightly larger dragons. These looked like they doubled in size from cat-sized to larger than a dog.easily...
OH well, bigger dragons make for better visuals!
That is one area I do not mind differing from the books very much....
I don't think trailers work for Game of Thrones. I mean it looks great but it showed it a second of every different story-line and so it didn't make any sense. Half of that didn't even come with enough information to figure out which story-line it was from...
EPIC. I already love Mance! Too bad there was no Stannis, but at least there was a bit of Melisandre in the voiceover (I think). I haven't read the books so I don't know what it's all about, but I see an epic fight between the Hound and someone with a flaming sword, a White Walker walking through the woods, Ygritte and Jon in a not-snowy location (and kissing!), Jaime (?) screaming in pain...
The third book is absolutely HUGE,so this corresponds to about the first half of the book. The second half of the book and a little from the fourth book will be in Season 4 because they happen at the same time chronologically.
There's probably a bit of a time skip from when Season 2 ended with Daenerys; I wouldn't be surprised if we skip to them on that boat and the two "friends" that she meets are already with her.
They'll probably skip their encounter in the city.
True, I haven't really heard how they will deal with her 2 newly acquired friends in the book since one of them may not be in the series. Makes sense to move ahead some, but even if they skip that scene it is not much of a "time jump" really.
I hope all you non readers (Who don't want to read the books) know to never look at Youtube comments for a GoT video, there are assholes who love spoiling everything for you. I love seeing your reactions to episodes not knowing what to expect so please don't ruin it for yourself (and me) and stay away from Youtube comments :)
The GOT season promos usually contain scenes form the entire season and they're like 2 minutes long at best.So it wouldn't give anything away if it contained scenes not a 2'' look on each character at some points.I understand what epf is saying.I like this promo but as a person who has not read the books,I don't find it that exciting because I have no idea what's happening. It feels like this promo was created to excite people who have read the books and watch the show,so they 'll know what to expect from this season when they watch it and not so much for the viewers who haven't read the books.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Wow looks great, the production design keep better and better every season. Can't wait to see this.
ReplyDeleteLooks epic! (not that was expecting anything less...)
ReplyDeleteGlad it has released so people can relax a bit and just enjoy the pre-season! XD
ReplyDeleteThe dragons look a bit too big to anyone else?
I understand why they would want to make them larger, but.......
Tormund looks bad ass
Mance sounds bad ass!
song?
ReplyDeleteMR MS - Bones
ReplyDeleteShit, so epic that I'm speechless. I can't wait! I want to see how the show deals with the Jaime arc :)

Where is the 1080p versions you always provided for us? ;)
ReplyDeleteAFAIK remember the dragons need to be bigger depending on how big the ship is supposed to be.
want one? I haben't been doing it this year since HBO has been so good about releasing the promo vids as soon as they air on TV or HBO...
ReplyDeleteI can do it in the future...
This trailer should be on Demand Sunday I think, I can do it then if you like. :)
Finally, finally they gave us something huge to be excited about.
ReplyDeleteIt looks incredible, this show always delivers

ReplyDeleteJaime! Yes! Looks fantastic. I can´t wait to see more of Mance and Tormund.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, dragons are NEVER too big. ;)
Now THIS is Excellent!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteso this 3rd season, does it correspond to the 3rd book of The Song of Ice and Fire?
ReplyDeleteThe third book is absolutely HUGE,so this corresponds to about the first half of the book. The second half of the book and a little from the fourth book will be in Season 4 because they happen at the same time chronologically.
ReplyDelete1080p Thrones is ALWAYS much appreciated :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the point? Not giving everything away...and actually watching the show...
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine one scenario of how they are going to end season 3. I'm interested to see if they do it how I'm imagining.
ReplyDeletenot sure if i'm allowed to do this, but there's a 720p version on youtube.

ReplyDeleteI uploaded the trailer in 1080p hree:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCHH9V5Osfs&feature=youtu.be
If I forget to upload the other promo vids just remind me.
I usually record, convert every video if it's on HBO or OnDemand...
So it's not a hassle to upload.
Gratitude!
ReplyDeletekind of meh

Yeah and it certainly worked well enough for those who've read the books to discern whats happening.

ReplyDeleteIt gave me chills watching that. Can't wait.

ReplyDeleteThey casted Stannis differently than what I had pictured but I love his character in the show. It will be interesting to see what they do with him.
ReplyDeleteYep exactly.
ReplyDeleteThat did not make me want to watch this season it just made me annoyed. If I didn't already know how good it was I wouldn't watch it.
ReplyDeleteThat's unfortunate.
