After rumored to be making an appearance for the past several seasons, the mother of Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) will finally make her appearance in Bones' season finale. Joanna Cassidy, who has also played mama (or mama-in-law) on Six Feet Under, Body of Proof and Hawthorne, has been cast in the pivotal role of Marianne Booth.
As show fans know, Booth's mother abandoned her son 24 years ago. She now unexpectedly reappears in his life at an inopportune time.
Bones' season finale is set to air Mon., April 29 on Fox.

ReplyDeleteI think they're pushing some of those extra season eight episodes onto season nine, actually. I believe Emily said that in interviews a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteLast season they kept saying we are going to have a full 22 ep season plus the 4 extra then they keep pushing it further into the future... I'm not complaining,just wish the hiatus wasn't so long...thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm confused. There's 26 episodes this season so 1) why is the finale so early since we have a couple breaks coming up and/or 2) since there are a couple breaks why is the finale so early?
ReplyDeleteThey are holding a couple over til S9 as per Emily's interview the other week. Masked Scheduler at fox confirmed on twitter earlier that there will be 24 eps in S8

ReplyDeleteIf you remember back in S4 when they also had 26 eps it all got really messy towards the end of the season. There were a couple of weeks when they ended up showing two eps on different nights. As to why the season finishes early who knows?!
ReplyDeleteShe's great as Megan's mum in Body of Proof and I think that she'd be awesome as Booth's mother, I'm so looking forward to see her in Bones
ReplyDeleteI don't remember that so I'll take your word for it. :) I guess what's perplexing a bit to me is that they wouldn't need to do that this season because they could've either a) had no breaks and still ended on the 29th or b) kept the breaks and ended the 2nd week of May. Either way, they could have still shown all 26 since they did two episodes in January. But oh well.
