If it had been before Season 8, I would have picked Supernatural, no questions about it. But this season has really let me down and truth be told, watching the show every week is no longer a pleasure for me and even if I do manage to get hyped about it, it just lets me down.
So I went with The Vampire Diaries, even though the whole sire bond thing between Damon and Elena and Stefan and Caroline's "friendship" (if I hadn't known better, I would have thought she was sired to him the way she acts, always singing the praises of St. Stefan) have really jangled my nerves during the past few episodes. The Originals make it worthwhile though: watching Klaus and Rebekah is much more entertaining than seeing Stefan seething and manipulating Elena. And then, Bonnie finally seemed to have got a storyline. I just hope it isn't just swept under the rug after a few episodes with Bonnie mysteriously disappearing for a few episodes.
Supernatural has been my favorite show for seven years so it got my vote. Truth be told though, on an episode-by-episode basis, I sometimes like Arrow better. Nikita is also a lot of fun.
Supernatural for many years is my favorite. Then Arrow. TVD watched first season and half second and stopped because most of main characters annoyed me and i wanted them dead.
Oddly enough, I have voted for Nikita. I used to love the vampire diaries, it was the biggest surprise i have ever had with a tv show, but ever since they have decided to keep klaus alive behind its time and shove the love triangle down our throats i have not been able to enjoy it. I have a lot of fall episodes to catch up with and that was not possible before, it was must see everyday it was on. Arrow has been a very good surprise, but it is still not "that"... I think some episodes in the middle of fall season fell a bit flat, but the beginning and the ending it was awesome. It has a lot of potential in the long run and i think it is one of those that will take time to mature, i am all for it. i like hart of dixie because it is a sweet little show with a lot of heart and that is also very funny most of the times, but it is not my favorite show. gossip girl had its moments but it was just a guilty pleasure of mine for the most part. i have started watching supernatural over the summer and i liked what i saw (halfway trough the first season), but i didn't love it like that, even though people told me it gets better later. i dont have time to keep watching it now, but i do plan on doing it. i have never watched emily owens or beauty and the beast and i dont intend on doing so. nikita is a very good action, underrated show with very cool and complex relationships between the characters. it is not a perfect show and it suffers from being cw-zed (cheesed) at some points, but it is very good for the most part, so it gets my vote. never though i would not vote for tvd in this...
For many years Supernatural would have been automatic, but I'm really unhappy with the story line. Arrow has really captured me this year. TVD is good and I do love Nikita. But I voted for Arrow.
Nikita by a landslide. None of the others even come close. I used to love SPN and TVD, but both continued well beyond their "sell-by" date. I wish SPN, especially, had concluded after Season 5 (or 6 at most) because I used to be a big fan, but it's being dragged out without any purpose - other than making money, of course. Arrow has been decent so far, but it still needs to improve a lot. Oh, and I have hopes for Cult, although it'll probably get cancelled quickly.
I love those 3 also and I seriously considered voting for something else, but the only one I have hopes for is SPN. I keep thinking there is some huge twist like soul-less Sam was that will make the OOC stuff make sense. Watching the boys win the award last night made me more excited than I felt after any episode this year, so to me that means I love the crew enough to put up with the story... I can't believe I just said that... Put. Up. With. The. Story. Yep, that is how I feel. But, I still get excited every week hoping for that episode that will bring back the feeling of Family that I always get... I have never waited this long before and I am starting to lose hope.
I totally agree about TVD. This is why I quit watching after Season 3. If one removed the horrible triangle and Klaus (who is now tied with Sylar from Heroes as "Most Annoying Whiny Woobie Bad Boy Villain Who Refuses To Die, EVER"), the show would be so much better. Unfortunately, the theme of the show now is how females completely give up their agency and have the hots for guys who rape, abuse, feed on, and murder women, just as long as they're hot and snarky (or have a hot accent).
Supernatural should have ended after Season 5, in my opinion. A lot of shows get ruined because they go on endlessly. I loved the early years of SPN, but instead of bowing out gracefully when the story was concluded, it just went on and on and utterly jumped the shark. Nikita is my favorite show on TV, but I'd never want it to go on 7-8 years (not gonna happen anyway because of the low ratings, but theoretically). Heck, the end of Season 3, the current season, may be the right time to end it. If it gets a Season 4 and even 5, okay, but there needs to be a justification for that, story-wise.
I agree with you about TVD.Did you like the secret circle?I think that was the network's best show last year. This year, nothing really stands out in my opinion.
I did, yes. I did not like the first half of the season much, but i was a really big fan of the second half and i thought the final bunch of episodes was superior to those from tvd.
LA Complex was a canadian production, when they cancelled it CW had to cancel it or pay for the production. Given how poor the show rated it wouldnt have been worth their while especially since the production cost would have been driven up. TSC was too expensive for the ratings it recieved, it would have had to drastically reduce costs to stay on the air and then it would have been in trouble again ratings wise pretty much from the start of season 2. They decided they werent going to make money from the show any time soon so decided to cut their losses.
That's a good comparison. It just makes the show seem to implausible for me. He freaking killed Jenna which was like a mother for Elena and Jeremy and a friend with Caroline and Bonnie and everyone else, yet nobody seems to remember that anymore. Sure, they don't like him, but they act like he is a bad boy from high school or something, not a psycho killer. It's just annoying and it takes away the high stakes of the show
hopefully SPN will be taking a break from Benny and Amelia in the second half of the season, all the cases sound interesting so maybe it will get better.
The ep where Heather woke up from the coma is a favorite of mine and it was what made me give the show a chance ,but yeah, the show got a lot better in the 2nd half and the eps were a lot better than TVD's after the shows had returned in Jan.
i used to be a hard-core TVD fan but ever since i started watching SPN, im like SPN all the way..! season 8 just gets better with lots of experimenting and awesome shit.! it stole my heart like no other show..! TVD is boring .. and lame..
Its surprising that such a brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT show is aired in a network mainly reigned by trainwreck shows like TVD(why is it still on air?) or shows that should have ended a long long time ago(SN is new Smallville in overstaying its welcome)
This a tough poll for me cause I love or like almost every CW show(except SPN,Nikita,Arrow,Cult dosent look good).I admit GG and 90210 arent as good as they used to be but I still like and watch them and will til the end.VD would probably be my favorite CW show but I do love Hart of Dixie and Beauty & the Beast.Emily Owens is good but its cancelled.I love Top Model still too.
Ya i loved TSC and Life Unexpected and of course One Tree Hill.. really miss that show but it had a great run and ended on a good note. The others were cancelled to soon.. they never got a chance. Thats why i dont watch the cw anymore for 3 reasons.. 1. because they decide to keep or toss shows based on nothing fair. 2nd because they never give shows a decent chance, they always just throw them out when they arent automatic hits. and 3. because they are so genaric.. they reuse stories for different shows and they are all the same. Good tv doesnt exsist on that network..
It's amazing that whenever I point that out (Klaus killing Jenna) as a reason why Caroline even looking twice at Klaus, let alone considering romance with him, is preposterous, I get told "Well Caroline is a killer too! All the vampires are!". I mean... seriously...???
That was really easy. Supernatural. I was unhappy with Season 7 and was thinking that maybe I'll quit watching but S8 is so amazing I'm completely hooked and in full fangirl mode.
I agree, while 3 seasons isn't a whole lot, the storyline just seems that it would naturally end at this season (pending one any twists/turns later in the season) with them cleaning up the last of Division's dirty business.
And I wholeheartedly agree that Supernatural should have ended at Season 5. While it would've been a sad ending with Sam in Hell and potentially Cas/Bobby dead, it would've been well earned and, as you said, been a great point of bowing out gracefully with the conclusion of the story.
I simply mean that I think it sucks these days. Maybe my phrasing was off, because whereas SPN has been going on forever, TVD is only in its fourth season, true. I just think it's been bad for a long time. It was already starting to slide in late Season 2, and Season 3 was a disaster. I do think that with decent writing, this show could have easily stayed good for 4-5 seasons (whereas 8 and beyond, like SPN, is too much by any measure).
I *will* say that I would have liked SPN to have a happy ending, with both brothers alive and well, but then I thought Season 5 as a whole was very weak. Most of the time, the show was dragging its feet without Sam and Dean having any real plan to stop Lucifer (who was such a lame, whiny villain, even though Mark Pellegrino was awesome) - they only stumbled onto one at the end of episode 19, for god's sake. And I hated Ellen and Jo being fridged for almost no reason except more angst. If the show was going to bring them back after over two years just to kill them off, they should've at least had a good run of episodes, and actually contributed to the defeat of Lucifer. Basically, I would have liked Sam and Dean to work on a plan to take down Lucifer all season, eventually execute it without either of them dying, and then go their separate ways (while staying close of course): Dean could continue hunting, Sam could go back to law school like he wanted. Also, I would have liked them to do a much better job of fixing the brotherly bond which was utterly destroyed in Season 4. And less over-the-top angst, which became one of the things I loathe on the show.
While I understand the arguments against Season 5, I personally still enjoyed it and it probably is my favorite season (minus the brother angst... which is at an absurdly all time high this season). I think after Season 2/3 they should've dropped any angst from the brother's relationship, sure have them bicker like brothers, but this over-the-top angst is just aggravatingly annoying at this point. And I agree that Ellen/Jo deserved to have a good run of episodes before they were offed. I did enjoy seeing them again, but it was still sad they were used in that way. That happy ending with Dean still hunting and Sam back in law school (which seems like no one remembers on the show) would've been a nice ending as well.
Nikita got my vote but in order, it would be: 1. Nikita 2. 9O21O 3. Beauty and the Beast 4. Vampire Diaries 5. Arrow(this really needs to find its footing and produce an episode to hook me or I'll drop it come February sweeps).
By far Supernatural... The Vampire Diaries-I am sorry but i could not get past season 1! It was too over-the-top with the acting, and the episodes weren't that compelling...maybe it's better now, but I couldn't get hooked on to it.
I underdog voted for Heart of Dixie. I watch a lot of these shows, but I went for the one I am most anxious to come back from hiatus. Of my favs, I'm a bit mad at Supernatural right now and TVD is undergoing a weird transition this season, BATB is fun but still needs to find its feet, and Arrow is my biggest, saddest disappointment of the new show season and I'm taking a good long break before I give it a second chance, Nikita is okay but I really only watch for Owen and he isn't in it nearly enough to choose over HoD.
I think the reason there aren't many votes for Arrow is because the show is new and alot of people who watch CW are hardcore TVD or SPN fans. Same with Beauty (though alot don't like it
I've watched SPN the longest and still love it, but Nikita has been more consistently satisfying for me episode for episode so it is prob my fave, and I love Arrow, but it's too new to call my fave, and then TVD
If you dislike the misogyny in shows like TVD, definitely check our Nikita. It's very un-CW-like, and full of badass, strong, complex female characters. The women are fully realized characters, not love interests or victims.
I loved LOVED OTH!!I think the CW bases the cancellations solely on ratings and not quality, which is kind of ironic since it's the network that does not promote them enough.
The majority of people in MF are murderers(even Matt),but in Klaus's case,he killed a person that Elena and the others loved. That's how Klaus's case is different. He killed one of them. But did we even hear Elena or Jeremy talk about hating him for that and mourn Jenna? No.Did we hear Jenna's name being mentioned?Barely.Ancient history!Murder is wrong and I'm not defending Caroline or Matt or anyone else who has committed it,but I believe the reason behind the act is also important.Klaus didn't have to kill Jenna but he did it anyway in order to hurt Elena.Just like when Damon killed Lexi and when Stefan killed Andie.
I'm not even going to comment on Supernatural, lest I be jumped by fangirls, but...
TVD, Nikita, Arrow, Dixie in that order. I like Nikita, but I love nothing about it. Arrow has such poor acting, even though I love the pace and mythology. Dixie is fun, but can be just so dumb.
TVD, regardless of a stuttering last year or so, has the strongest cast, the strongest episodes and stands-out more IMO.
Guess, Alex meant that the producers are ruining the show by forcing Klaus on us. As you said, the entire originals story is getting old. They keep Klaus just to keep him (he IS brilliant, but it's getting annoying). They are making up stories to justify him staying in MF (like this cure, lately), patterns are repeating themself (remember S3? Half of the season was a repeating pattern. They planned to take out Klaus, they failed, made a new plan and failed again) and the story is evolving too slowly. If they go on like this, in 10 years (if the show lives that long) they will still looking for a way to get rid of Klaus. Some people are also annoyed by all this love triangles. It is getting much, but on the other side it's keeping the dynamic of the group in motion (you can't say that about the storyline).
Agree on Klaus on TVD. If they keep him just to keep him, it will ruin the show. I'm telling that since second half of S3, but no one is listening to me. Finally some people start to agree (like you). Joseph is brilliant, there is no denying that. But forcing him on the show will ruin it. There were many people in S3 saying they probably won't be back for S4. And to tell the truth, I'm not sure I'll be back for S5 if the writers and producers won't change anything. The Silas storyline is interesting. And it would work perfectly without Klaus. As for the love triangles. Well, it is getting a bit much. But on the other side, it's keeping the dynamics of the group in motion. Hey, if the story can't evolve and change, at least the characters can. Right? I love Arrow. I was positively surprised by the show. Supernatural is getting a bit complicated. Some say it should stop after S5 or S6. Agree. Partly. I love the boys.

Oh, honey, you should read my comments if they involve Klaus. I'm the one trying to remember everyone what Klaus did to the people in that town. Especially when they try to make it sound like he has a good side. Or when they try to compare Klaus to Damon. Or when they complain about Elena and Matt killing Finn and trying to kill Klaus.
Of course all vamps are killers. But mostly they didn't want it, they just lost control. Like it was with Caroline. Or they kill is self-defense, like Elena. And all young vamps have problems controlling their urges at the beginning. But Klaus kills cause he feels like it. Cause he is bored. Or just to hurt people. THAT is the difference. Yes, he killed Tys mom. "Swept under the rug"? Nice one. Agree. Many people are just too eager to forget all he did. That is why I bring it up at any chance. I hate to repeat myself, but it's for a good cause. I also said (several times) that Caroline was making a great progress since she died. And she became one of my favorite characters. But if she hooks up with Klaus, she loses all points in my book. And again, they brought this "romance" between laus and Caroline op, just to make him more likable. To justify keeping him. Trust me, the producers and writers are killing the show by keeping Klaus just to keep him. If they love him so much, let's give him a spin off. In that case they can keep him (he also gets more screen time on each ep.) and the story in MF can finally go on. Otherwise in S10 we'll be still hoping to get rid of Klaus.
I loved The Secret Circle. It was sometimes a bit complicated (especially with Cassies father, and we had some unanswered questions) but it was great. I think, it was canceled cause it was too expensive? Too bad there wasn't another network taking it (like Buffy). Maybe they should have hired some of the writers for TVD. At least the story in TSC wasn’t running in circles like it does on TVD. Have you tried Arrow?
Caroline is taking Stefans side, cause I think she never forgive Damon for what he did to her, even if she never mentions it. But she is not sired to anyone. Besides. Wasn't it Damon who gave her blood to heal her after the accident? O.K., don't get me wrong. I love Klaus and Becca. Both great actors, doing a really good job. But don't you get the feeling that this entire originals storyline is getting too old and annoying? I get the feeling that we're running in circles since beginning of S3. The story is just not evolving enough. It's hard to imagine that almost a year passed since Klaus showed up for the first time (in MF time). And since that (even before he showed up) it's the same pattern repeating over and over again: they want to kill Klaus, they make a plan and fail, so they make a new plan and fail again. Boring!!!
I watch Arrow! The pilot was probably one of the best pilots ever! And the rest of the eps were really good too! I don't know why TSC was canceled.I alsways assumed it was b/c of poor ratings but people here told me it was too expensive and the CW people didn't see the reason to renew a show that had low ratings and cost them too much.As far as I'm concerned the poor ratings problem could have been solved if they had aired the secret circle before tvd, because other than that people (fans and recappers) who watched both shows said that they enjoyed TSC more than TVD. Can't wait for the new eps of Arrow!
Agree on Arrow. As I said, I was positively surprised with it. If I got it right, it was too expensive (compared to the profit; no wonder, if they had so many sets. Several houses, the beach, the school and bar, the wrecked ship, …) and was canceled. That is why many fans hoped another network would take the show. I think, that one network considered it, but didn't go for it. Too bad. Well, if TVD is canceled, it's because people won't watch it anymore. I think because of S3 they already lost some fans.
"And then TVD (although the current season is trying my patience lately)" Just the current season and just lately? How about S3? It was so predictable, a 5 years old could foresee what will come. I'd say, S4 is better. Elena is a vampire and Jeremy a hunter. Both gives the show a potential (although I believe, they made Jer a hunter just to do something to his character). And the Silas story is still open. And S3 was just repeating the gangs attempt to kill Klaus.
S2 wasn't so bad either. What ruined it was S3. The producers have to make it up. But they sure won't do it by keeping Klaus and forcing him into the show.
BATB will keep leading these other shows as long as they keep throwing in these Models for ADA and Ex-beauties, lol keep it coming. Cat is up for the challenge
I totally agree. This is a very disturbing pattern: the young females who watch The CW instantly forget all the horrible stuff the guys do, as long as they're hot. Damon snapped Jeremy's neck out of spite? Who cares, he still needs to hook up with Jer's sister! He abused and raped (yes, raped, Caroline didn't have the option to say no) Elena's best friend? So what! Klaus murdered Jenna, Carol and so many other people just to amuse himself? That's irrelevant as long as he draws ponies! My god. Meanwhile, the female characters get nitpicked to death over every little thing ("OMG, Elena is such a bitch to Damon who is always nice to her! Except when he snaps her brother's neck but nobody's perfect. Caroline is such a bitch to Klaus, who tried to have her sacrificed in Season 2 but meh. And I can't believe Caroline doesn't want Elena to date the guy who abused, fed on, and raped her, she's such a judgmental ho!"). It's no wonder Nikita, a show critics praise left and right, is ignored by The CW audience and gets horrible ratings: who needs portrayals of strong, capable women when you have damsels-in-distress whose lives revolve around having the hots for psycho murderers?
I agree except for the "I love Klaus" comment. I hate the guy, with the passion of a thousand blazing suns that no daywalking ring could protect you from. I positively loathe those whiny villains who mope about how they're lonely and nobody likes them and blah blah (and in his case, try to romance 18-year-old blonde girls). He doesn't even have a plan or agenda FFS; he creates hybrids so he wouldn't be lonely? This is a 1000-year-old hybrid, throwing a tantrum whenever he doesn't get his way? I'm not even a fan of Joseph Morgan. Certainly, the writing hasn't been on his side, but I found Matt Davis much more menacing and evil when Klaus briefly possessed Alaric in Season 2. I'd much, much, much rather have the wonderful Katherine or Elijah as the villains. They're intelligent, capable, and scary, and don't act like little kids. They have actual depth without being reduced to pathetic whiners. Rebekah is okay too.
Don't get me wrong, honey, but guys are the same. Show them a hot peace of ass or big tits and they think only with the small brain, not the big one. And I never forgot what Damon did. I'm the one always saying that Caroline, Bonnie and Jeremy are having their problems with Damon because of all the things he did.
I don't mind Elena being with Damon for the simple reason that he changed. What he did was horrible and he can never make it right. But he changed. This people are his friends now. He helps and protects them. And he risked his life for them. Can you say the same about Klaus? And I'm the one that said (I don’t know how many times), that Caroline loses all points in my book for dating Klaus after all he did.
And I like strong independent women. Trust me, love, I like nothing more than see a woman kick a mens ass. What I hate are weak whiny girls that are just slaves to their boyfriends or husbands.
So, please don’t count me in the same group as the mindless blondes that say: "ah who cares how many innocent people Klaus killed this week, as long as he takes off his shirt"
And you got me wrong. When I said "I love Klaus and Becca" I meant the actors, not the characters. Joseph and Claire are just brilliant (never expected that form her since I saw her in H2O). They do a really good job. Probably the reason they keep them, although the show would work perfectly without them.
As for the characters: I hate them. I want Klaus dead ASAP. I'm saying that since the middle of S3 (which is almost a year now). Becca? Well, she is not like Klaus. He has nothing good or human inside him. She does. Sometimes when she drops the act you see the girl, that lost her mother too young, was turned (killed) by her own father and was her psycho brothers slave for 1000 years. If she would find the strength to break free from the past that is keeping her hostage, she could be great. The show would work without her, but I wouldn't mind if she stays (after she changes, and if her being in MF makes sense). Klaus? I want him dead. I don't want him daggered or locked up in a coffin and especially not in his own show. I wand his dead, mummified head as decoration on my side table. So "I hate the guy, with the passion of a thousand blazing suns" works for me perfectly, thank you.
Well, Klaus is the perfect villain, cause he is strong, almost impossible to kill and IF they kill him, they all die (the perfect life insurance). Elijah is not evil. Not in the way you expect from a villain. But they wouldn't have problems killing him (since he is not the creator of their bloodline, they actually could kill him). And Katerina? Please. She is evil and crazy, but just a vampire. A normal stake kills her (or sun, or fire, or cutting her head off, …). She is no challenge. Having a good villain on the show works only, if they are hard to find or hard to kill (or both).
I get what you mean, but I don't think it's necessarily about who's hard to kill in the technical sense. It's also, perhaps even more, about who is the smarter, craftier villain who can come up with good plans and keep the heroes one step behind. That's why Katherine was so amazing as the Big Bad in the beginning of Season 2: she always had back-up plans and was prepared for whatever Elena/the Salvatores threw at her. It took help from a witch (who betrayed her) to take her down, and even then, she managed to manipulate Damon into setting her free. Elijah is also very smart and resourceful. And with both characters, the fact that they're not pure, unadulterated evil actually makes them more interesting to me. I like grey characters when they're well-written. They *could* have a new villain who's even more powerful/unkillable than Klaus, of course, but I don't think that's the main issue. Mostly, they just need a villain who's intelligent, has clear and understandable goals and knows how to plot and scheme. That would make them hard to defeat, regardless of how "killable" they are. Look at non-supernatural shows: everyone is human and can be killed as easily as a bullet to the head or chest, yet the great villains last long and outplay everyone.
Oh, I'm definitely not counting *you* in that category - on the contrary, I was relieved to have someone see eye to eye with me on this. There aren't many people who do, or at least, not nearly as many as the mindless fangirls. I do see your point about Damon. In fact, one of the counter-arguments I keep getting is "If it's okay for Elena to be with Damon, why is it not okay for Caro to be with Klaus?". Which - to me, two wrongs don't make a right (it's NOT okay for Elena to be with Damon, in my opinion), but also, at least Damon is mostly reformed *now*. He wouldn't randomly hurt Elena's friends or family. He does mostly protect them. Klaus can't even say that. He JUST murdered Carol for god's sake. He tried to murder both Elena and Tyler as recently as 3x21. This is preposterous, and while I no longer watch the show, I hope they don't assassinate Caroline's character by having her get together with him. Like you said, that would be horrendous (and make her a hypocrite for criticizing Elena being with Damon).
Yes, Katerina was amazing. She played with your head and was always two steps ahead. She always had a plan and several backup plans. But Damon could lose his temper and kill her, and all her plans and psycho games would be for nothing. At least I would kill that bitch without hesitation, as soon as I see her.
Grey? Elijah maybe. Katerina? Not so sure. Although, she did gave Damon the cure in S2 (she could have make a run with it, leaving him to die). That was probably the one selfless thing she did in 500 years. But she did say, that she owed him. Maybe she just didn't want to risk Stefans and Elenas vengeance for letting Damon die.
Having Katerina as big bad would be a challenge for Nina. Not, that she wouldn't be capable of doing it. She proved that she can do it. Playing both parts for a handful of eps is one thing. Doing it for the entire season?
It would be hard to find someone worse than Klaus. Cruel and smart and impossible to kill. Hard to beat. Klaus was too much. The next villain can be only weaker than he is. Maybe that's another reason they refuse to let him go. They have problems replacing him.
Whedon started easy on Buffy. One master vampire, then two vampires. Every season had a villain, stronger than the one before him. A immortal mayor, a cyber/demon killing machine, a goddess, the First.
JP jumped form a tomb of vengeful (normal) vampires to a original hybrid you can't kill, unless you wanna die too. She didn't make a step forward, she jumped. Now they have no idea what to do with Klaus and how to go on with the show.
Well, there is still the Kitsune and the Dark Dimension. And hey!!! There were vampires before the family. The spell Esther used already existed. And what did Shane said? That the witches are the architects of all supernatural. So, there has to be more out there than just vampires and werewolves.
Just curious: Why isn't it okay for you that Elena is with Damon? We all do mistakes. And Damon has proven what truly is inside him. Has shown, that the can be selfless and remorseful. He is a good person. The act he put on in S1 was just a shell, to keep distance. If you don't let anyone get close (emotionally), you can't get hurt.
And I agree that it is unforgivable that Caroline is willing to let Klaus get near her. If I were her, I would leave the room as soon as I see that idiot, not flirting with him. Not even to distract him. I would compel someone else to do it.
Caroline already is a hypocrite. She attacks Elena for having feelings for Damon while, at the same time, she was on a date with Klaus. She already is a hypocrite, but if she hooks up with Klaus, she's dead to me. And if anyone mentions her in a comment, I'll say: "Caroline? Caroline who? There is no Caroline on the show"
season 3 was one of the best seasons out there, Klaus turned out to be the most favorited character by the fandom. Its only loosing viewers because the fandom is divided into 2 sides. Stelena and Delena
yea then they come out with the plot twist no one saw coming with the whole if an Original dies every vampire turned from their bloodline dies along with them. Then it revealed it was Klaus so he can't die. I mean yea they can lock him up but they won't kill him
Klaus won't be around for long. Julie is starting a new show called The Originals and is basing it off of TVD. So JoMo and everyone will be on that show.
Of course most people in MF are killers. But most people are not hating Klaus cause he killed someone close to Elena, and forgive Damon, cause he didn't, or ignore the people Caroline killed I agree that the difference is the motive. It's not who you kill, but why. Klaus kills for fun and revenge. Or if he is bored. Example: Katerina messed up his plan by turning. And cause she escaped and he couldn't kill her, her killed her family. Tyler tried to kill Klaus. And cause he disappeared, Klaus killed his mother. Damon rescued Tyler and Caroline before the ritual. Klaus blamed Elena. And since he couldn't kill her, he turned and killed Jenna. That is a line Damon, Caroline or Elena never crossed. Caroline lost control and killed that guy accidently. Or she killed in self-defense. Like Elena. Damon … Well, he's no saint. And I'm not defending what he did in the past. He can never make it right, what he did to Caroline, Jeremy or Vicky. But he changed is tries to make the best of his life. Agree on Lexie. Damon killed her to hurt Stefan and distract Liz. But the Andie situation was different. Damon was after Klaus and Klaus wanted him to stop. Stefan had to take care of it, cause otherwise Klaus would have. And Klaus would have killed Damon. And Stefan also wanted to protect Elena, since by that time Klaus didn't know she was alive. Don't get me wrong, it's not okay Stefan did it. But he did it to protect his brother and Elena. True, they barely talked about Jenna. They paid more attention to Ric (Damon still keeping his seat empty and still ordering a drink for his buddy). I think, the reason for that is, as Alex put it right, that they want to sweep it under the rug. They want to make us forget all the horrible things he did, so we won't ask why he is still on the show (and all the characters just accept it, not doing anything), or why Damon and Stefan are so willingly cooperating with him (he almost killed them, made Stefan kill his girl, he killed their friends, …), or how Caroline can go on a date with him, after all he did to her (he wanted to sacrifice her, he made her boyfriend almost kill her, he kills her friends, …).
Emily Owens MD !!!! <3333 I really love this show so fricken much! I can't believe its being cancelled!!! </3 Emily Owens MD then The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Nikita, Beauty and the Beast, Arrow, 90210 and then Hart of Dixie.
It wasn't just a mistake, for all intents and purposes Damon was going to kill Jer, an innocent kid who had nothing to him whatsoever. Damon admitted he didn't see the ring, which means if it wasn't for pure luck, Jer would be dead. Would Elena still be fine with Damon then? And then there's the cruel abuse and rape of Caroline (in my opinion it's rape, I realize others disagree), two separate attempts to murder Caroline (in 1x04 and in 2x02), the attempt to kill Bonnie after Emily possessed her and destroyed the crystal... we never even saw Elena react to these things, she forgot about them in a matter of days. On top of everything, Damon has been quasi-abusive towards Elena on many occasions: 2x10, 2x19, violently throwing her into the river in 3x02... oh, and making jokes like "bind her, gag her, throw her in a well" about how Elena's stubbornness should be dealt with (3x22). That relationship is utterly misogynistic to me and I can never support it. I'll also add that I never got the sense that Damon genuinely wanted to change or reform. As portrayed on the show, he simply stopped killing people and being a threat to Elena's loved ones because he wanted to get in her pants. If Elena were dead or gone, I'm not so sure Damon would still be reined in.
As for why I stopped watching - simply put, Season 3 was horrible and I see no signs of the show getting better. On the contrary, Plec is apparently in love with the Originals and wants to base the entire show around that BS. Characters I love like Caroline, Katherine and Elijah are ignored. The reason I got into the show in the first place was the fun, fast-paced plots with all the twists and turns, but it's nowhere near as exciting these days, and certainly not enough to make up for the neverending, heavy-handed love triangle of doom.
Yeah, I was stunned to learn that people actually like Klaus enough to watch an entire show about him. I'd rather bathe in acid than watch that. Unfortunately, I think the ship has sailed with TVD. It jumped the shark in Season 3 and it's not going to become good again, even if ship Klaus off to his own show.
Well he can't die unless you want basically the whole cast to die, then he can't die. He created their bloodline. Im sure they will eventually lock him up now that JP is creating a new show about the Originals
That's the question, isn't it. DID he saw the ring or not? Once he said he did, then he said he didn't … So, which one is it? Agree, that in both cases it wasn't okay. But if you "kill" someone knowing he'll come back it's completely different then kill someone to kill him. We know that he manipulated his relationship with Elena during S1 and partly S2. Each time, she was beginning to trust him, to get closer to him, Damon said or did something to push her away, make her hate him. A few eps later he was acting like they are the closest friends. During the entire season I thought: "He's playing a game of cat and mouse with Elena" Didn't you get that feeling too? In one ep he tried to seduce her, then he snapped her brothers neck, a few eps later they were talking like old close friends. "Would Elena still be fine with Damon then?" That's the other question. JP has proven that she likes to make people forget. Best example is Klaroline. Caroline dating Klaus, like he never tried to sacrifice her, like he never killed her friends, like he didn't turn Ty and made him bite her (knowing she would die), like Klaus never killed Jenna, almost made Stefan killed Elena, …
Although I'm glad to see Elena with Damon (and to repeat again, Damon HAS changed and proven himself), Elena seemed to forget a lot of things too. Like the situation with Jeremy, or Vicky, what he did to Caroline, that he killed Lexi and his "uncle" and Tenner, that he almost killed Bonnie, … So, who knows what would happen if Damon had (successfully) killed Jeremy. Maybe nothing would have changed, since there seem to be an epidemic of amnesia in MF (reminds me on Sunnydale. People forgot what happened and what they saw.) But I just rewatched the first two eps of S2. Damon snapped Jeremys neck because of Katerina. The bitch broke him. She broke his heart by telling him she never loved him. Damon just lost it. And since it was the first time Jer wore the ring, think it's 70% sure Damon didn't see the ring
There is no question that what he did to Caroline was abuse and rape. She still keeps her distance and doesn't like him very much. She was pissed when she remembered, but her only reaction was "You suck" What was that? I would have probably gone after him with a stake the first chance I got. I'm glad that she doesn’t brings that up at any chance (would be unnecessarily drama), but it's the typical amnesia behavior, that she never demanded an explanation or an apology.
I absolutely agree that he started to behave because of Elena. But it soon became reality, not just an act (he apologized to Jeremy for Vicky in S1 and he never apologized before). Sure, it wasn't constant till S3, but it was there. It became more and more a part of him.
Of course JP loves Klaus and the originals, that is why she is still forcing them into the show. It's what I'm telling all the time. They keep them just to keep them cause she wants them in the show.
Well the good thing is, if the originals get an own show, they'll gone from TVD. Finally. It's the only reason I support the spinoff. It's the only way to get rid of Klaus.
Yes, they will lock him up eventually in S5 or S6. For 2 eps, then he'll be free again.
Did anyone (beside me) ever consider a spell? Esther used a spell to bind all originals together, so if you kill one, they all die. Bonnie broke the spell and unbound them. My thought is, that Bonnie (or another witch) could create a spell that will break the bond between an original and the vampires created from his bloodline. So we could kill Klaus without the unpleasant side effects. Like killing 80% of the cast.
But if they make an Original spinoff, it's fine with me. If it means Klaus leaving MF I support it 100000%.
@omabin:disqus @twitter-569229800:disqus I agree completely with everything you guys have said, both above and below, in the comments, regarding The Vampire Diaries. I really liked this show when it began, but stopped watching after seeing where the show was heading early in Season 3. Funny thing is, if this poll was around back at the end of Season 1, or even early on in Season 2, I probably would've had a hard time choosing between Nikita & TVD. Both of your points about why TVD is going downhill & possibly overstaying their expiration date, are valid imo. And Alex Forrest, your comparison of Klaus to Sylar is spot on. Thanks for so fearlessly posting each of your thoughts regarding the show here, despite some fans' possibly scary responses. ;)
Best or favorite....hmm, I don't know. I have my top three....Arrow, Supernatural, and Nikita. None are perfect but which is my favorite...Has to go to Supernatural. I've stuck through this long...I think that says something.
I was referring only to the quality of the show, not its success. I found Season 3 horribly boring, especially with the triangle becoming way too melodramatic, Stefan's character assassination, the formerly kickass Caroline becoming set dressing/a damsel-in-distress, and the horrendeous whiny Klaus who's one of the worst villains I've ever seen. Apparently he's popular because fangirls love guys with a British accent who draw ponies for the girls they like (which totally makes up for being psycho mass murderers). But anyway, as far as commercial success goes, TVD is still going strong. I don't see the shipping wars in the fandom hurting it too much, it's actually probably part of what generates the show's popularity.
You are so very welcome, it always makes me happy to see someone who shares this view. Reading online comments really makes it feel like 95% of the world (at least the TV viewing-world) is made of shallow fangirls who only care about how hot a guy is, how good he looks shirtless, and how much he's into the girl. They can rape, abuse, murder, feed on, abduct, torture, mind-control, or do anything to other characters - especially women - and no one will bat an eye or stop shipping them with the main female. In fact, it seems to give them some sort of "bad boy" charm. Meanwhile, whenever said female character does anything other than be wholly nice and sweet, she'll be showered with comments like "OMG, that bitch!!! He's so nice to her and totally loves her and she's always being so meeeeeean to him!". And yeah, I still remember how Heroes became The Sylar Show and started forcing him into every single storyline in a vain attempt to capitalize on Zachary Quinto's popularity. The show only began sucking even harder, dropped further in the ratings and got cancelled. TVD deserves the same for its ridiculous obsession with Klaus, but instead it looks like he's getting his own show. It's very sad to live in a world where shows like TVD, or SPN with its naked torture scenes of women, killing off every. single. female. character, and endless female-specific insults (the words "bitch", "slut", "whore" and "skank" being uttered 20 times per episodes) are smashing hits - mostly with women! - while Nikita, a tour de force of how to write strong complex female characters, respectful mature romance between men and women, and positive layered relationships between women, has dreadful ratings.
Holla! Preach it, girl! ;) On a more serious note, thank you again for taking the time to so thoughtfully and articulately explain your reasons for why each show needs improving. I wholeheartedly agree about your points regarding Heroes' "Sylar show", and TVD's "Klaus show" (although the latter really is going to be a show! Go figure!). I also agree about the misogynist representation of women in many of the CW's shows. Those preteens who tend to like stuff like this really need to read more 'girl power' books or something (i.e., Little Women, Joy Luck Club, etc.). Even if people disagree with me, I would prefer thoughtful discussion as opposed to crazy name-calling, condescending nonsensical statements, or anonymous down-arrow-voting.
I have to disagree with you on the Damon being changed part. He hasn't change actualy, at all, he has only grown. He isn't a protector in MF. Whatever he does it's for Elena, she is the only one he cares about ( apart from Stephan). If you remember, in the episode where Bonnie gathered all that power to kill Klaus, noone wanted her to use it because it could kill her, except for Damon of course who didnt have such qualms. He is ready to do whatever it takes for her and he has said so himself. He is the only charracter in TVD that hasnt change or pretend to be some night shiny armor. he is who he is and doesnt hide it. That's why i like him (thought, i dont like him with Elena). Even thought i agree about Klaus being unreasonable still on the show, i think that in the books he is still alive (actualy, i havent read them, so i might be wrong) because i read somewhere that Elena's the one who can kill him..(but that's later on..) Anyway, i do think that writers can do better than that. I was excited for season 4 to start but now i cant get much of it. Somehow, every time i finish watching an episode, im pissed off!
I think he did changed, not just grow. True, he's not pretending to be a knight in shining armor cause he is not. And he knows it. That is why he let Bonnie do it. Cause it was the right thing to do. She knew it too and wanted to do it, if I remember correctly. But he is a protector in MF. I just read the first two series. I refuse to read the books written by a ghost writer. And so far, in the books, Klaus had just a small part right before Elena returned from the dead (It's been a while, but I think, it was the last book of the first series). He was mentioned once or twice after that (in the second series), but he never returned. He was seriously hurt fighting the brother and Ghost-Elena, but I don't think he died. When he left, he lived.
I loved for B&TB, but I also love Arrow, Nikita and Supernatural. I would vote for ANTM before I'd vote for TVD. I stopped watching that show because of Klaus and the Originals take-over. Plec's obsession with all things Morgan has really just obliterated the whole show and all the other characters. The main triangle has ruined Elena and the once formerly bad-ass Caroline is now an annoying hypocrite (the Klaroline ridiculousness has really just sacked her character). So yeah. I only love Tyler, but I refuse to watch with Klaus still on the show. Maybe his spin-off works and the show gets good again, I'd come back...but probably not.
Supernatural all the way. Though it has had some rough patches the brothers bond has kept me hook and now I am all Team Free Will. This season is season gr8 for a reason.
I only like Vampire Diaries and Arrow. Niktia i liked, but i really got bored of the show. Even tough i think the channel makes alot of crap, some of the dramas are good like Nikita in the beginning and Vampire Diaries. Arrow i like a bit because of the way it stays something else than Smallville, and uses the rogue-gallery of Green Arrow/DC Comics so well.
Not poll rigging, just more Beauty fans coming here to vote. Obviously polls like this dont mean much, Beauty's fate like any other show is still subject to ratings. Its still a bubble show and its still going to IMO have to at the very least mantain a 0.6 average to get a second season even then that second season is likely to air on Fridays.
I cant decide, I love VD,HoD but still like and watch GG,90210 and Emily Owens is good too.Id have to say VD and HoD are my favorite.I also really like Beauty &the Beast
Beauty and the Beast best of the best!!!!! LOVE Kris and Jay on their roles.
In the Vampire Daries im tired of the writers playing with our heads. Supernatural i LOVE IT! But like you can see, it moves alone, no need for my vote LOL Arrow is good. Nikita sucks. And the rest... well, who cares? (:
Having only one choice is not a just result. I hold "Supernatural", "Arrow", and "Beauty and the Beast" at the same level of interest and feeling for the show. To say that one is better than the other is like deciding if you want to use various seasonings in food. I don't always use garlic, but I always have it to use and when I do I really use it. "Supernatural" is a longer habit, but I feel as compelled to "Arrow" an to "Beauty and the Beast".
I used to love Supernatural, but it has gotten so out there I just don't see it anymore. I still watch it hoping for it to recover, but it's been a while since I've been at all interested. I think Jensen Ackels and Jared Padelaki are great actor though and sometimes watch the show just for them. Vampire Diaries was my favorite for a while, and I still love it, but Beauty and the Beast has surpassed them all in my opinion. It is not only my favorite CW show, but my favorite show of ANY network. I LOVE it!
I voted for beauty and the beast cause it is probably the only show I watch in cw atm. I used to be a die hard fan of TVD but after 2 seasons I could not stand the TVD writers abuse on Bonnie's character because I was a big fan of Charmed and I could not stand a witch character be abused as a dive plot and the fact that she always saves the day but after disappears as if she never existed. That was why TVD became tasteless, well that and of course the triangle. How a girl being with two brothers somehow did not seem my cup of tea.
I think I need to catch with nikita. It is been a long time since watch it.
..Every Thursday night at 10,I grab a glass of wine,I need to get my Vincent fix, because this man is FINE.The drama and the romance, the action and the fun, glues me to my tv set, till the rising of the sun. This show is so addictive, and we know this is the reason,CW should play this right, and sign for a second season.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Vampire Diaries, didn't even have to think about it
ReplyDeleteNikita is my second choice
Supernatural, without a doubt. Been watching from the jump. Everyone who votes otherwise is and idjit :P
ReplyDeleteIf it had been before Season 8, I would have picked Supernatural, no questions about it. But this season has really let me down and truth be told, watching the show every week is no longer a pleasure for me and even if I do manage to get hyped about it, it just lets me down.
ReplyDeleteSo I went with The Vampire Diaries, even though the whole sire bond thing between Damon and Elena and Stefan and Caroline's "friendship" (if I hadn't known better, I would have thought she was sired to him the way she acts, always singing the praises of St.
Hart of Dixie. no doubt about it.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Arrow b/c it's a great new show but I also like 90210.
ReplyDeleteI only watch SPN so I thats what I voted
ReplyDeleteTVD & Arrow
ReplyDeleteHart Of Dixie!
ReplyDeleteThis was the easiest polls for me in a long time.
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL, then in order TVD, Arrow, Hart of Dixie, Nikita, Beauty & Emily Owens.
None.
ReplyDeleteRinger, but you're shit, and you cancelled it... :)
ReplyDeleteSo no one
ReplyDeleteCurrently it's Nikita. Arrow is a strong contender but needs more episodes under its belt. Supernatural is 3rd because post-Season 5 has kinda sucked.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural for ever!
ReplyDeleteAnd then Vampire Diaries.
And then Arrow.
And then....well..the others XD!
Beauty and the Beast, of course!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural and Nikita only for me.... :)
ReplyDeleteI'd say Smallville, but it wasn't an option (since the show is gone), so I voted for another favorite of mine, Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural
ReplyDeleteOnly watch Arrow, so I voted for it.
ReplyDeleteOf these I watch Arrow, Nikita, and B&tB and used to watch The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural, and out of those I went for Nikita.
ReplyDeleteVoted Arrow, only because I expected Supernatural to runa way with the category...then I find out they are losing by ONE vote right now.
ReplyDeleteEasy. Supernatural will always be my number one. Also love vampire diaries and arrow
ReplyDeleteSupernatural has been my favorite show for seven years so it got my vote. Truth be told though, on an episode-by-episode basis, I sometimes like Arrow better. Nikita is also a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteSPN all the way!
ReplyDeleteSPN (for many years), but there's also awesome Nikita (!), really great new Arrow, charming Hart of Dixie and TVD.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch these, but I was totally into Ringer last year.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural for many years is my favorite. Then Arrow. TVD watched first season and half second and stopped because most of main characters annoyed me and i wanted them dead.
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, I have voted for Nikita.
ReplyDeleteSecret Circle :(
ReplyDeleteFor many years Supernatural would have been automatic, but I'm really unhappy with the story line. Arrow has really captured me this year. TVD is good and I do love Nikita. But I voted for Arrow.
ReplyDeleteif not for season 8 i would have voted for supernatural. but i hve completely lost interst in spnl thanks to Benny and amelia storyline.
ReplyDeletewill go with tvd always. the originals r so damn awesome need them more. they make me wanna come back to this show again and again
Nikita by a landslide. None of the others even come close.
ReplyDeleteI used to love SPN and TVD, but both continued well beyond their "sell-by" date. I wish SPN, especially, had concluded after Season 5 (or 6 at most) because I used to be a big fan, but it's being dragged out without any purpose - other than making money, of course.
Arrow has been decent so far, but it still needs to improve a lot. Oh, and I have hopes for Cult, although it'll probably get cancelled quickly.
any TVD familly here?
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL BABY!!!
ReplyDeleteI love those 3 also and I seriously considered voting for something else, but the only one I have hopes for is SPN.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about TVD.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural should have ended after Season 5, in my opinion. A lot of shows get ruined because they go on endlessly. I loved the early years of SPN, but instead of bowing out gracefully when the story was concluded, it just went on and on and utterly jumped the shark.
ReplyDeleteNikita is my favorite show on TV, but I'd never want it to go on 7-8 years (not gonna happen anyway because of the low ratings, but theoretically). Heck, the end of Season 3, the current season, may be the right time to end it. If it gets a Season 4 and even 5, okay, but there needs to be a justification for that, story-wise.
none that are listed.. all the good ones get cancelled on this network.
ReplyDeleteVampire Diaries All The Way !!
ReplyDeleteLike TSC??I still haven't gotten over its cancellation. And the L.A. complex was really good, too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about TVD.Did you like the secret circle?I think that was the network's best show last year. This year, nothing really stands out in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI did, yes. I did not like the first half of the season much, but i was a really big fan of the second half and i thought the final bunch of episodes was superior to those from tvd.
ReplyDeleteLA Complex was a canadian production, when they cancelled it CW had to cancel it or pay for the production. Given how poor the show rated it wouldnt have been worth their while especially since the production cost would have been driven up.
ReplyDeleteTSC was too expensive for the ratings it recieved, it would have had to drastically reduce costs to stay on the air and then it would have been in trouble again ratings wise pretty much from the start of season 2.
It's just annoying and it takes away the high stakes of the show
ReplyDeletehopefully SPN will be taking a break from Benny and Amelia in the second half of the season, all the cases sound interesting so maybe it will get better.
ReplyDeleteThe ep where Heather woke up from the coma is a favorite of mine and it was what made me give the show a chance ,but yeah, the show got a lot better in the 2nd half and the eps were a lot better than TVD's after the shows had returned in Jan.
ReplyDeletei used to be a hard-core TVD fan but ever since i started watching SPN, im like SPN all the way..! season 8 just gets better with lots of experimenting and awesome shit.! it stole my heart like no other show..! TVD is boring .. and lame..
ReplyDeleteHave to go with Arrow.
ReplyDeleteIts surprising that such a brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT show is aired in a network mainly reigned by trainwreck shows like TVD(why is it still on air?) or shows that should have ended a long long time ago(SN is new Smallville in overstaying its welcome)
ReplyDeleteNikita hands down.
ReplyDeleteYa i loved TSC and Life Unexpected and of course One Tree Hill.. really miss that show but it had a great run and ended on a good note.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural, no question. Though I'm also enjoying Arrow from what I've seen.
ReplyDeleteARGH!!! Can I vote for two? Arrow and Nikita are awesome, but went with Nikita.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that whenever I point that out (Klaus killing Jenna) as a reason why Caroline even looking twice at Klaus, let alone considering romance with him, is preposterous, I get told "Well Caroline is a killer too! All the vampires are!". I mean... seriously...???
ReplyDeleteThat was really easy. Supernatural. I was unhappy with Season 7 and was thinking that maybe I'll quit watching but S8 is so amazing I'm completely hooked and in full fangirl mode.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural but I'm also loving Nikita, Arrow, Beauty and the Beast and Vampire Diaries.
ReplyDeleteOf those - none. Ringer was never meant for the CW, but it was their greatest show.
ReplyDeleteHow did TVD go past its sell by date? It hasn't even completed a 4th season. Most shows with a good amount of viewers make at least a 5th.
ReplyDeleteI agree, while 3 seasons isn't a whole lot, the storyline just seems that it would naturally end at this season (pending one any twists/turns later in the season) with them cleaning up the last of Division's dirty business.
ReplyDeleteAnd I wholeheartedly agree that Supernatural should have ended at Season 5. While it would've been a sad ending with Sam in Hell and potentially Cas/Bobby dead, it would've been well earned and, as you said, been a great point of bowing out gracefully with the conclusion of the story.
Easily Supernatural
ReplyDeleteI didn't care for B&B
ReplyDeleteSupernatural is the only show I watch from these, so I voted for SPN.
ReplyDeleteI simply mean that I think it sucks these days.
ReplyDeleteI *will* say that I would have liked SPN to have a happy ending, with both brothers alive and well, but then I thought Season 5 as a whole was very weak.
ReplyDeleteBasically, I would have liked Sam and Dean to work on a plan to take down Lucifer all season, eventually execute it without either of them dying, and then go their separate ways (while staying close of course): Dean could continue hunting, Sam could go back to law school like he wanted.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree that Ellen/Jo deserved to have a good run of episodes before they were offed. I did enjoy seeing them again, but it was still sad they were used in that way.
That happy ending with Dean still hunting and Sam back in law school (which seems like no one remembers on the show) would've been a nice ending as well.
vdiaries!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, it's crazy... They need to have sme moral grounds in the show, and klaus being there takes it away.
ReplyDeleteNikita. The only CW I actually watch.
ReplyDeleteNikita got my vote but in order, it would be:
ReplyDelete1. Nikita
2. 9O21O
3. Beauty and the Beast
4. Vampire Diaries
5. Arrow(this really needs to find its footing and produce an episode to hook me or I'll drop it come February sweeps).
So... all the cw's shows are good for you. hehe. I voted B&TB but I also like Arrow very much.
ReplyDeleteBy far Supernatural... The Vampire Diaries-I am sorry but i could not get past season 1! It was too over-the-top with the acting, and the episodes weren't that compelling...maybe it's better now, but I couldn't get hooked on to it.
ReplyDeleteHart of Dixie, Vampire Diaries and Arrow of course ^^ also a bit Emily Owens
ReplyDeleteI underdog voted for Heart of Dixie.
ReplyDeleteI think the reason there aren't many votes for Arrow is because the show is new and alot of people who watch CW are hardcore TVD or SPN fans. Same with Beauty (though alot don't like it
ReplyDeleteTVD!
ReplyDeleteCW is not just for kids, I am 74 and my favorite series is Supernatural, I watch more on CW than any other network.
ReplyDeleteBATB....all the way
ReplyDeleteSPN because we've been going steady for 7+ years now, but HoD is gaining quite some momentum...
ReplyDeleteI've watched SPN the longest and still love it, but Nikita has been more consistently satisfying for me episode for episode so it is prob my fave, and I love Arrow, but it's too new to call my fave, and then TVD
ReplyDeleteTwo way tie between HoD and Nikita but Nikita all the way!
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL!!!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural is the best show forever and ever! *o*
ReplyDeleteSupernatural, what else? :)
ReplyDeleteARROW RULES !
ReplyDeleteNikita...
ReplyDeleteONLY SUPERNATURAL ONLY HARDCORE!
ReplyDeletei love them all <3 im cw girl
ReplyDeleteNIKITA!!!!I love niki so much!!!
ReplyDeleteTVD all the way <3 !!
ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries & Supernatural are both the same to me!!
ReplyDeleteThen in 2nd is Arrow
3rd was Gossip Girl
&
4th is 90210
I don't watch any others.
If you dislike the misogyny in shows like TVD, definitely check our Nikita. It's very un-CW-like, and full of badass, strong, complex female characters. The women are fully realized characters, not love interests or victims.
ReplyDeleteI loved LOVED OTH!!I think the CW bases the cancellations solely on ratings and not quality, which is kind of ironic since it's the network that does not promote them enough.
ReplyDeleteTVD is defo my favorite closely followed by Arrow :D
ReplyDeleteThe majority of people in MF are murderers(even Matt),but in Klaus's case,he killed a person that Elena and the others loved.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even going to comment on Supernatural, lest I be jumped by fangirls, but...
ReplyDeleteTVD, Nikita, Arrow, Dixie in that order.
ReplyDeleteThey keep Klaus just to keep him (he IS brilliant, but it's getting annoying).
ReplyDeletetelling that since second half of S3, but no one is listening to me.

ReplyDeleteI watch every single one of the CW's shows. Wow.
ReplyDeleteTVD is my favorite, definitely.
Then Hart of Dixie.
Then Arrow.
ReplyDeleteYes, he killed Tys mom. "Swept under the rug"? Nice one. Agree. Many people are just too eager to forget all he did. That is why I bring it up at any chance. I hate to repeat myself, but it's for a good cause. I also said
(several times) that Caroline was making a great progress since she died.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Arrow?
Caroline is taking Stefans side, cause I think she never forgive Damon for what he did to her, even if she never mentions it. But she is not sired to anyone. Besides. Wasn't it Damon who gave her blood to heal her after the accident?
ReplyDeleteO.K., don't get me wrong.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why TSC was canceled.I alsways assumed it was b/c of poor ratings but people here told me it was too expensive and the CW people didn't see the reason to renew a show that had low ratings and cost them too much.As far as I'm concerned the poor ratings problem could have been solved if they had aired the secret circle before tvd, because other than that people (fans and recappers) who watched both shows said that they enjoyed TSC more than TVD.
Can't wait for the new eps of Arrow!
Vampire Diaries is my one and only show on the CW :)
ReplyDeleteAgree on Arrow. As I said, I was positively surprised with it.
ReplyDeleteIf I got it right, it was too expensive (compared to the profit; no wonder, if they had so many sets.
ReplyDeleteS2 wasn't so bad either. What ruined it was S3. The producers have to make it up. But they sure won't do it by keeping Klaus and forcing him into the show.
ReplyDeleteI have seen all of these, so I can say for sure that Supernatural is the best!!
ReplyDeleteBATB will keep leading these other shows as long as they keep throwing in these Models for ADA and Ex-beauties, lol keep it coming. Cat is up for the challenge
ReplyDeleteWHAT IS Supernatural AND TVD ?? NIKITA ALL THE WAY!
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast all the way.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Beauty and The Beast!
ReplyDeleteI like TVD also but I got more addicted to Beauty and the Beast :D
ReplyDeleteWHAT IS Supernatural AND TVD ?? o_o NIKITA ALL THE WAY!!!! \0/
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. My god.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, the female characters get nitpicked to death over every little thing ("OMG, Elena is such a bitch to Damon who is always nice to her!
ReplyDeleteI'm not even a fan of Joseph Morgan.
ReplyDeleteAnd I never forgot what Damon did.
Shakespeare? Nice.
ReplyDeleteAnd you got me wrong.
ReplyDeleteThey *could* have a new villain who's even more powerful/unkillable than Klaus, of course, but I don't think that's the main issue.
ReplyDeleteI do see your point about Damon.
ReplyDeleteGrey?
Glad to hear you don't count me on that group ;)
ReplyDeleteJust curious: Why isn't it okay for you that Elena is with Damon?
There is no Caroline on the show"
Why did you stop watching?
TVD then SPN
ReplyDeleteseason 3 was one of the best seasons out there, Klaus turned out to be the most favorited character by the fandom. Its only loosing viewers because the fandom is divided into 2 sides. Stelena and Delena
ReplyDeleteyea then they come out with the plot twist no one saw coming with the whole if an Original dies every vampire turned from their bloodline dies along with them. Then it revealed it was Klaus so he can't die. I mean yea they can lock him up but they won't kill him
ReplyDeleteKlaus won't be around for long. Julie is starting a new show called The Originals and is basing it off of TVD. So JoMo and everyone will be on that show.
ReplyDeleteYeah, cause locking him up worked so good last time.
ReplyDeleteThey needed a year to defeat him, and the got free after one ep. What is this?
Supernatural not doubt.
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL !!! ^3^
ReplyDeleteOf course most people in MF are killers. But most people are not hating Klaus cause he killed someone close to Elena, and forgive Damon, cause he didn't, or ignore the people Caroline killed
ReplyDeleteI agree that the difference is the motive.
But the Andie
situation was different.
I think, the reason for that is, as Alex put it right, that they want to sweep it under
the rug.
ReplyDeleteI really love this show so fricken much! I can't believe its being cancelled!!! </3
Emily Owens MD then The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Nikita, Beauty and the Beast, Arrow, 90210 and then Hart of Dixie.
BATB all the way :)
ReplyDeletehart of dixie!! it's such a feel good show! really hope it gets renewed!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't just a mistake, for all intents and purposes Damon was going to kill Jer, an innocent kid who had nothing to him whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteI'll also add that I never got the sense that Damon genuinely wanted to change or reform.
ReplyDeleteWell he can't die unless you want basically the whole cast to die, then he can't die. He created their bloodline. Im sure they will eventually lock him up now that JP is creating a new show about the Originals
ReplyDeleteThat's the question, isn't it.
ReplyDelete"Would Elena still be fine with Damon then?" That's the other question.
Like the situation with Jeremy, or Vicky, what he did to Caroline, that he killed Lexi and his "uncle" and Tenner, that he almost killed Bonnie, …
So, who knows what would happen if Damon had (successfully) killed Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone (beside me) ever consider a spell? Esther used a spell to bind all originals together, so if you kill one, they all die. Bonnie broke the spell and unbound them. My thought is, that Bonnie (or another witch) could create a spell that will break the bond between an original and the vampires created from his bloodline. So we could kill Klaus without the unpleasant side effects. Like killing 80% of the cast.
But if they make an Original spinoff, it's fine with me. If it means Klaus leaving MF I support it 100000%.
Supernatural is my #1 :) then Emily Owens. Too bad Emily is being cancelled, it's a nice little show :/
ReplyDeletebeauty and the beast the best show I saw since years
ReplyDeletebeauty and the beast!
ReplyDeleteEasily Supernatural
ReplyDelete@omabin:disqus @twitter-569229800:disqus I agree completely with everything you guys have said, both above and below, in the comments, regarding The Vampire Diaries. Thanks for so fearlessly posting each of your thoughts regarding the show here, despite some fans' possibly scary responses. ;)
ReplyDeleteBest or favorite....hmm, I don't know. I have my top three....Arrow, Supernatural, and Nikita. None are perfect but which is my favorite...Has to go to Supernatural. I've stuck through this long...I think that says something.
ReplyDeleteI was referring only to the quality of the show, not its success.
ReplyDeleteBut anyway, as far as commercial success goes, TVD is still going strong.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I still remember how Heroes became The Sylar Show and started forcing him into every single storyline in a vain attempt to capitalize on Zachary Quinto's popularity.
A-freaking-men.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural, Arrow and Hart Of Dixie!
ReplyDeleteVampire Diaries, with Nikita 2nd.
ReplyDeleteUsed to love Supernatural... then it went about 3 seasons passed its sell-by date.
ReplyDeleteI also agree about the misogynist representation of women in many of the CW's shows.
90210 foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr
ReplyDeleteI LOVE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!! TVD and Nikita come second and third respectively :)
ReplyDeleteArrow
ReplyDeletesupernatural, hart of dixie and beauty and the beast are the best!!!
ReplyDeleteVampire diaries season 4 actually sucks ... dont know where the story line is getting at !!
ReplyDeletebeauty and the beast rocks ... cant wait for 24th jan
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast S2
ReplyDeleteI think he did changed, not just grow. True, he's not pretending to be a knight in shining armor cause he is not. And he knows it. That is why he let Bonnie do it. Cause it was the right thing to do. She knew it too and wanted to do it, if I remember correctly. But he is a protector in MF.
ReplyDeleteI just read the first two series.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST IS AMAZING
ReplyDeleteHOD!
ReplyDeleteI loved for B&TB, but I also love Arrow, Nikita and Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural of course
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL! I will never get enough.
ReplyDeleteWANNA SAY SOMETHING ABOUT POST SEASON FIVE NOW
ReplyDeleteSupernatural forever!! Love this show because of everything, the cast, the special effects, everything!! <3
ReplyDeleteSupernatural will always be my epic true love.
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL!!!!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural all the way. Though it has had some rough patches the brothers bond has kept me hook and now I am all Team Free Will. This season is season gr8 for a reason.
ReplyDeleteWho told the Supernatralist about the poll? About four hours ago it barely had 19%.
ReplyDeleteAh, I believe it was me ;) Oh, the power of tumblr :p
ReplyDeleteeasily SPN with Arrow second.
ReplyDeleteI only like Vampire Diaries and Arrow.
ReplyDeleteBatB *-* We're together :) Love the sitcom. #BatBrazil
ReplyDeletebeauty and the beast is a very nice and promising show .. just give it a shot .. watch till episode 5 things getting better and better
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Beauty and the Beast has more votes than TVD...
ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries. How the heck is Beauty and The Beast getting so many votes? This poll is rigged obviously.
ReplyDeleteNot poll rigging, just more Beauty fans coming here to vote.
ReplyDeleteObviously polls like this dont mean much, Beauty's fate like any other show is still subject to ratings. Its still a bubble show and its still going to IMO have to at the very least mantain a 0.6 average to get a second season even then that second season is likely to air on Fridays.
i do like alot on cw but SPN is my num 1 fav even after 8 years the storylines in the epis r better then all even when the big plot sucks
ReplyDeleteTVD & BATB ... Yaaaay fans R rocking the poll :)
ReplyDeleteSupernatural, no contest! <3
ReplyDeleteNikita!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI cant decide, I love VD,HoD but still like and watch GG,90210 and Emily Owens is good too.Id have to say VD and HoD are my favorite.I also really like Beauty &the Beast
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast best of the best!!!!! LOVE Kris and Jay on their roles.
ReplyDeleteIn the Vampire Daries im tired of the writers playing with our heads.
Supernatural i LOVE IT! But like you can see, it moves alone, no need for my vote LOL
Arrow is good.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Supernatural, but it has gotten so out there I just don't see it anymore. I LOVE it!
ReplyDeletethe vampire diaries and Nikita <3
ReplyDeleteI voted for beauty and the beast cause it is probably the only show I watch in cw atm.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to catch with nikita. It is been a long time since watch it.
Why? Cause it is new? TVd also attract many fans when it first came out. Maybe some fans got tired of it and switced to shows like bnb, fans like me
ReplyDeleteArrow and The Vampire Diaries.
ReplyDeleteRatings don't equal a good quality show.
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL!
ReplyDeleteSupernaturaaaaaaaaal
ReplyDelete..Every Thursday night at 10,I grab a glass of wine,I need to get my Vincent fix, because this man is FINE.The drama and the romance, the action and the fun, glues me to my tv set, till the rising of the sun. This show is so addictive, and we know this is the reason,CW should play this right, and sign for a second season.
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the beast! So romantic!....
