Damn. How is it that in a scene with Klaus, Damon, and Stefan, Stefan is the one who comes off as the biggest douche? Things are definitely changing 'round here.
Yeah, that's the thing about Stefan. Unlike other characters, the more depressed he gets, the less sympathetic he is. That self-righteous streak kicks into overdrive and I go from "Oh, poor Stefan" to "Can somebody hit him? Please? Pretty please?" really, really quick. And now that he's lost Elena at least until the cure is found, my fondness for him is deteriorating rapidly.
The funny thing is that even though I'd like to hit Stefan with a brick when he's like this, I still think he's a lot more entertaining like this as opposed to when he's being an even-tempered nice guy.
Yes, very much better without a doubt: on the top of the list of the things that make him a better man than Damon, there's the fact he would never slept with the girl whose his brother is in love with (and Katherine doesn't count because of the compulsion) and with whose he has been in relationship since 2 years . Break up or not, it was disgusting.
Um...not to be annoying, But since Damon was in love with Elena for a while, Stefan actually *was* sleeping with a girl who his brother was in love with. I mean in my book it was okay, because she was in love with Stefan. But in my book, once Stefan dumped Elena she was fair game.
I love that the show is acknowledging the Salvatore brothers' propensity for sleeping with the same women. This comic sums it up for me: http://holthaleywalker.com/tvd-comics/2013/1/22/not-enough-therapy-in-the-world
Actually, I did complain. Very not cool of Damon, trying to kill Matt, and I'm glad Elena stopped him. The difference is not in the actions, it's in the attitude. Damon acknowledges what he does is sometimes nasty and dark and messy and selfish, so while I don't always approve, I don't get as annoyed. Stefan will own up to his big, bad deeds like Ripper killing sprees, but when it comes to things like revenge sex, if he feels like he's been wronged enough, he'll act like he's still in the right and above everyone while behaving like a tool. That's my problem with him, not the actual actions. I mean, yeah, his ex moved on with his brother, he deserves some rebound action. Just don't compare your brother to Klaus right after you slept with Rebekah, she of the just tried to kill you and your friends in the high school. And honestly, if he were acting more in pain or heartbroken, or even just out-and-out angry, I'd be with him, but right now he's mostly being self-righteous, and that rubs me the wrong way.
Actually, I prefer Ripper!Stefan most of all, so I get your point. It is more fun when he cuts out and gets an attitude, but I still he'd lose some of that "No matter what I'm better than you because I'm Stefan" edge he gets sometimes. It takes some of the fun out of it, because really dude? The guy who used to keep a list of his victims written out in his closet wants to cop an attitude about being a villain? Let's get a little perspective.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
"villain bonding time"? Yeah because you are much better Stefan lol

ReplyDeleteI really hope Stefan isn't betraying Rebekah again but is working with her this time and they have a plan.

ReplyDeleteDamon's the exact same, except when he was pissed he tried to kill Matt. Didn't hear everyone complain about that.
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for villain bonding time!! I LOVE Klaus and Damon together.
ReplyDeleteIt is oddly enjoyable to watch the fleeting moments when those two actually get along.

ReplyDeleteOh, Stefan, I love you like this. Don´t betray Rebekah now please.
ReplyDeleteSo they want the dagger for Kol. Hopefully they only dagger him, and don't kill him!!!!
