    I always like scenes with these two.

    For whatever reason, in spite of some bad run-ins with Damon in the past, Jeremy always seems to come to Damon (as opposed to Stefan, who is seemingly the more appropriate choice) when there's trouble or when he wants to get involved with the latest crisis. They have this weird big brother / little brother dynamic which makes sense of the fact that Jeremy seems a little hurt about the fact that he thinks Damon doesn't give a damn about him.

    No one could ever replace Alaric...
    But if anyone had a shot, then I think Jeremy is the best candidate because they seem to be developing a mentor-grasshopper relationship and it suits them well I think. It's a different relationship than the one Damon had with Alaric, not a buddy-bromance thing, but it's still got some 'bromance' strings that it's tweaking at.
