    Makes me wonder just how super special they are going to be this time. By the time they finish retconning this family, Dean and Sam will no longer be human, they only think they are.

    And I wonder if there's a tie-in to the present like they get one shot at the three tasks and if they blow one the tablet explodes or something of the sort. Really want to see something cross over.

    You know I would prefer the brothers to come from a demon blood-line rather than an angelic one.

    Angels are just so dicky.

    Then why does Carver have to go down this road? Is it just to shock the fans or what?

    I didn't mind Sam's demon blood for it fit perfectly into the story-line and it made things personal to the Winchesters but please don't make them some kind of new agey angelic childen. :(


    Why can't they just go back to hunting evil and saving lives like true heroes do!

    Because the show has to tie its'self into so many knot's that even the knot's have knot's. I suppose at this rate I will have to re-evaluate the earlier seasons .

    Yup.

    The plot-lines have become so convoluted that one no longer knows where they begin and where they end!
    IMO making the Winchester blood-line somethng supehuman is a really big step and I don't know where that will lead to, of course if superhuman is what Henry turns out to be.


    Just curious, did you not like the earlier seasons?

    Well there is this fact from earlier seasons that the soul of a Winchester is special because it is far more stronger/powerful than the average soul you can buy with a crossroads deal.

    No idea how the Kane and Abel bloodline the Winchesters are tight to is an angelic blood line, but I guess in the hate fest the comment section has been turned into here on spoiler tv, nothing matters but to prejudge every episode before it aired not matter what.

    I loved the earlier seasons .I would have them anyday over what we have had since season 4 and the whole Sam is a bad penny and Dean is the golden boy of Winchester land that has been going on .

    I don't recall it ever being said that the Winchesters' souls were particularly special. The angels/demons wanted Dean's soul to start off the Apocalypse, that's all.

    The brothers were destined to be the vessels for Michael and Lucifer reflecting Cain and Abel it's true, but there again I don't believe it was ever said that their souls were more powerful than anyone else's.

    As for a hate-fest, I don't see one.

    I believe one has the right to comment on what the future promos show without being accused of hating.

    If anything I would say that criticism is caring because one feels enough for a show to spend time trying to better it.
    Then a comments thread is for commenting and as each of us have differet opinions, I doubt everyone will be in agreement on anything!

    I never believed that father of John was mechanic,I always thought about father of John as the Bobby, something happens and it becomes a hunter, it short while a different hunter the brothers plus a hunter.

    Right on. It really bugs me when people act as though folks who criticize anything about the show - esp. the writing - aren't really fans. I've had criticisms of every single show I've watched. Many I've been way more fanatical about than SPN.

    Whoa calm down. It's not exactly saying they are part angel. Henry may just know how angels do their tricks. Kind of like having a operation manual. Although it's possible that to make sure the bloodline came together an angel or two stepped inside a vessel and did the deed with a human. But I think it's the former.

    I love the first three seasons too and I could watch them over and over. :)


    The whole Michael/Lucifer arc did separate the brothers and there's no changing that now but there was no need for the writers to continue insisting on the brothers arguing.


    This season could have started differently with the brothers good together and tackling the closing of Hell and Heaven on an even footing, like they did in those earlier seasons.



    I love both brothers and their caring bond and the only people I blame for the lack of balance between the brothers are the writers.

    They have enouraged the brother hating and have made Sam out to be the less sympathetic and given him minor importance in the episodes, especially this season.

    I don't know why this is.

    That's something only the writers themselves could explain.
