Yep! Definitely got a kick out of him pointing out the fake badges thing! Though the guy must have really awesome eyesight to have picked that up that quickly and from as far away as he was.
And here I was thinking Lucifer had you in his cage creating the last few seasons for you. :O I can imagine Mark saying "Hey Dahne, I call this season great. I think it's my best torture yet" with that little wink. haha.
So, how exactly do you research real FBI badges? Does the FBI put out false information so they can catch impostors easier or is this public access information so that people can avoid being scammed (I've always thought...looking a number up in a phone book and doing the verification the best way to go. damn it...I'm feeling a Google session coming on. ( I just recalled that the first time I got badged by an FBI agent I was on a secure site and it never occurred to me to study the badge.)
Ha! I liked season 7 so it's only been season 8 I have an issue with. I think you are right though. I just wrote in my recap how I think Azazael has made Jeremy Carver his vessel just to torture me. Yours is more apt. I hate Satan and his nefarious torture schemes. Season Great is the best torture moniker around.
My biggest question is does everyone get a new badge every time they change the seal? That sounds like a waste of tax dollars. My guess is that Jerry the LARPer is either a brilliant forger or he works for law enforcement.
I would believe that they do re-issue badges to every security employee every time they change them. I think agents get a photo ID card in addition to the badge...which is why the badge doesn't have the phone part in it. Those ID cards may change more frequently. In the late 80s they didn't have a separate ID card. Just the badge. Sadly, when the agent came to my office I was too caught off guard (all I could think was I didn't do anything..) to really study the badge.
I actually did go online and google how to verify that you're talking to a real agent. My instinct was almost completely correct. Don't let them in until you...get the agent's id for photo and id number, find out what office they are out of, look the number up in the phone book and verify that they have an agent by that name and ID number, and verify that the agent has checked out to your address. If they give you issues about asking them to wait...that's a red flag as well. :-D I know, but I consider this the fun part of my OCD
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Haha nice. Beverly Hills Cop reference
ReplyDeletehmm... I wonder who the queen could be... :)
ReplyDeleteI love that the LARPER dude is the only person ever to catch them on the fake badge thing. Ha!
ReplyDeleteBwah! Love that the LARPer is so familiar with fake ids. Perhaps he creates them and he can be the next Frank. LARPing vs paranoid theories.

ReplyDeleteThat was funny. A LARPer catched the fake badges. Oh the upset look on Sam's face. I love this already.
