An interesting post by EW that you might have missed on how the first appearance on Henry Winchester sets up the rest of season 8.

  1. That would make sense. I love that their grandfather was actually a guy you would like. I was surprised, however, that Sam didn't say a lot more than he did. He seems to have been more like Henry than Dean and to find out where he came from and why he does what he does - I would have thought he'd have more questions.

  2. I'm glad the boys will have a home base. I always wanted that for them. A place to store their stuff and to go to when they're wounded or ill

They can still go jaunting about in the Impala just the same. :)

Not too happy about the guest stars hanging around their new home, nor about the fact that we're probably never going to get an explanation for why Sam didn't look for Dean and understand just how his world 'imploded'!!

How I wish that if they had really wanted to substitute Bobby they would have choosen Jody Mills. She would have been grreat in the part, 'cos for me Garth is really hard to stomach!

Don't like to hear that there will be more arguing between the brothers.

When will the writers understand that the show works miles better when the boys are brotherly, protective and good with each other.

  3. I don't get it. If this is the plan, why didn't we do this 5-7 episodes ago? Create a new home base, get started on main mytharc? Set up where the show is going to go for the next 3 seasons? Every time Carver talks about the story, it is a weird combo of great ideas and total let down. I really wish he'd follow through and stop throwing out distractions, fights, and retcons. I want the adventure story and the new hunter lair. Give Sammy something to do, marry the "brains and the brawn" and get this party started already.

  4. I'm excited. I've had no complaints about this season except for Sam's not looking for Dean and trying to compare Benny to Amy. Otherwise, Carver has been doing exactly what he said he would do and I have loved the ride so far. I think it can only get better.

  5. Oh yes, Jody would have been perfect to take over for Bobby. I like Garth, but he is not and will never be Bobby.

  6. Sounds great, now fix Sammy.

  7. The boys have always argued, even when they were protecting each other. They are both forces of personalities and will always have conflict.

  8. I have loved everything about this season so far. I think that the guys have been great and I love how Carver has slowly built up to this and allowed the boys work things out. I am over the whole arguments about Sam not looking for Dean. He didn't look, can we move on now. Dean has accepted it. Looking forward to what else Carver and the other writers of the show have in mind. I am excited to find out what is this place that they will stay at. As to Garth being the 'new Bobby', I love him and am ok with the boys calling him from time to time. It isn't like he is in every episode or anything like that. Really don't see Jody Mills doing that, not yet anyways, she is still just learning about the supernatural world.

  9. Sam and Dean have always argued, it's true but behind that outward conflict the underlying love was there for all to see, while this season that love was completely missing and its place was taken by rancour and almost-hate between them, based on a completely contrived action on Sam's part.
Brothers always bicker and rail at each other and I'm fine with that but not with how they have portrayed that relationship this season.

Henry seems to of been a hit on the IMDB board. Maybe we get a resurrect Hent campaign going?
