The final portion of the Seattle Seahawks at the Washington Redskins on the NFC Wild-Card Game lifted Fox to victory, with a 3.6 metered market household rating point advantage over second-place CBS. Third overall was NBC, which featured the return of The Biggest Loser, followed by ABC.
The NFC Wildcard Game averaged a mammoth 26.7 rating/42 share in the 7 p.m. half-hour on Fox, followed by the post game at a 16.2/25 at 7:30 p.m. That led into Fox’s regularly scheduled animation block – The Simpsons (#1: 6.1/ 9), Bob’s Burgers (#4: 4.2/ 6), Family Guy (#4: 4.8/ 7) and American Dad (#4: 3.8/ 6) – from 8-10 p.m.
On NBC, the season-premiere of aforementioned The Biggest Loser was on the map with a respectable (albeit non-spectacular) 4.7/ 7 in the overnights from 9-11 p.m., which built by seven percent from both the year-ago season-opener (4.4/ 7 on Tuesday 1/03/12) and the year-ago debut of failed legal drama The Firm (4.4/ 7 on Sunday 1/08/12). The Biggest Loser moves into its regularly scheduled Monday 8-10 p.m. time period tonight into the debut of new drama Deception.
Earlier in the evening on NBC last night was a two-hour edition of Dateline at a 4.4/ 7 from 7-9 p.m..
Over at CBS, granddaddy 60 Minutes opened the evening second in the 7 p.m. hour, with a 7.3/13 in the overnights, followed by an encore of Person of Interest (#2t: 5.5/ 8 at 8 p.m.), and the older skewing combination of The Good Wife (7.1/11) and The Mentalist (6.6/11), which won the 9-11 p.m. block.
On ABC, the odd 10-11 p.m. airing of sitcoms Happy Endings (#3: 2.0/ 3) and Don’t Trust the B____ in Apartment 23 (#3: 1.6/ 3) in place of canceled Park Avenue 666 fell completely flat. Happy Endings dipped by 60 percent from lead-in Revenge (#2: 5.0/ 7 from 9-10 p.m.), which like The Mentalist on CBS has not benefited by moving to Sunday. Earlier in the evening on ABC was a repeat of Once Upon a Time at 7 p.m. (#4: 2.2/ 4), followed by its aforementioned return at a 5.5/ 8 at 8 p.m.

The share of OUAT and the repeat of POI are the same, this is bad for OUAT. Now TGW and The Mentalist both have a solid return.
ReplyDeleteDamn, OUAT did awesome. Yay for them!
ReplyDeleteGo OUT!
ReplyDeleteWho cares about Marc, the most important thing is that OUAT is strong and it will be another season for sure!
ReplyDeleteFoot ball playoffs helped Simpsons.I had been watching Once upon a Time live and DVRing simpsons but I quit doing that because football goes over far too much.a little over 9 mllion
ReplyDeleteIn total viewers and 3.1 in demo.ABC did no better with sicoms after revenge. They should have just aired the final 3 episodes of 666 Park Avenue.ABC needs to accept they aren't going to hit huge ratings on Sunday In 10/9 Timeslot.Especilly with an established CBS show popular with older cword. At least 666 Part Avenuewas in the 4 million In total viewers.
Oh, the show is definitely getting a third season, which I'm thrilled about.
ReplyDeleteI hope there's early renewals this year. If there are, OUAT will most likely be on the list.
True. I don't understand why ABC doesn't show the last episodes of 666 PA. The ratings were weak but steady in their weakness.
ReplyDeleteMaybe because they needed more room to burn off HE and Bitches?
ReplyDeleteYay for The Good Wife!
ReplyDeleteThey're never going to airs that last episodes of 666 Park Avenue? :( Will it be online?
ReplyDeleteOUAT did better than POI repeat in ratings and viewers. POI is on CBS and has very high ratings/views for the channel. OUAT is one of the highest for ABC. OUAT did good for its time slot and did well for the season. It's doing great, sure to have a renewal. It's not bad at all for OUAT.
ReplyDeleteThey're supposedly going to air this summer. I hope they're not lying.
