  1. Season 3 for me, we had time in both universes, some really fantastic acting from Anna as the many different Olivia's, I loved growing to know Lincoln Lee and seeing Charlie again. The whole Walter needing to learn to let Peter go plot was great. The trip to what at the time we thought could be the worst possible future was another highlight. Everything just flowed so well.

If I was to put all the seasons in order it would be as follows: S3, S5, S2, S4 and S1

  3. I agree with everything you said. Even the order of seasons is the same.

  4. i agree season 3 was the best, although season 5 was a really good season( and i include 4.19 which was season 4 but basically the very first episode of season 5 ^^), so for me it would be S3-S5, S2, S4, S1

  5. Second half of season 2, best Fringe cliffhanger ever. First half of season 3 and season 5, even because I love very much dystopian narrative.

  6. I just noticed the red, red, red, green lights. which is in contrast to the usual green, green, green, red.

  7. Season 3. The immense leap in improvement in Anna's acting made the first half of the season absolute amazing and absolutely terrifying to watch. She had to play Olivia as Altlivia, Altlivia as Olivia, then Olivia as Altlivia slowly becoming Olivia again.

Beyond Anna's acting, the storyline was intense in the first half with Olivia on the other side and we got a good look at what the other side is like and that they aren't necessarily bad. And the interactions, particularly in episode 9 when Olivia was back, felt like I was watching a real person distraught over what had happened. Just incredible.

  8. For me it was more about certain episodes than complete seasons.
Episodes like Jacksonville,Subject 13,Ability,Grey Matters...I will ALWAYS remember my excitement after they ended.

  9. Season 3 (with the end of Season 2 - from "Jacksonville")
    Season 5
    The rest of Season 2
    Season 4
    Season 1

Season 3, end of Season 2 and Season 5 are very close in quality for me - some of the best things I saw in my life. Simply incredible. The rest is also amazing, and it has a lot of great episodes which can be considered as some of the best of Fringe, IMO.

  10. 3rd season was the best no doubt about that ! The storyline was sooo good with the other side and everything ! i have to admit before the 3rd season i was watching on and off...

PS : don't know where to post this but DISQUS doesn't work on spoilertv with safari but works on other websites (using safari)...Am i the only one ?? I have to use firefox....

  11. I think some of the strongest stand alone episodes were in Season 1 and 2, but honestly I quit watching 2 or 3
times during the first 2 seasons due to the lack of serialized episodes. It just did not hold my interest from week to week until the end of Season 2 and Season 3.

I think everyone can agree that the strongest run of episodes was from the end of Season 2 to the Season 3 finale. In my opinion Season 3 being the strongest complete season by far.

Season 4 meandered and took adjusting to since the start of the season was such a departure from the previous 3 seasons, and then the end of the season was so rushed. Capped off by the weak finale made Season 4 easily the weakest season IMO.

    3 >> 2 >>> 1 >>>> 5 >>>>>>> 4

  12. Great minds think alike!

  13. Season 3 because of all the universe-hopping and the alternate versions of our favorite characters. I enjoyed these things in Season 4 as well, though the plotting was a bit messier that year.

  14. It's probably season 3, but 5 is a close second, because it paralleled and juxtaposed season 3 in a lot of ways. Both seasons where very character driven.

    After that I would say 1, 2, and 4.

  15. Season 3, by a mile. No contest at all. Especially the first run of episodes with the olivias being swapped, and even later with the war between both universes and us keep going back there. I liked the observers storyline but for me, fringe will always be about the two universes, that was the most exciting part of it, always. This was the biggest focus of season 3, so no surprise it is my favorite. Also, I fell in love with Anna Torv during that 3x01 episode, it was just so powerful what she was doing. And Altivia became a character I could not wait to see, week after week. I was really moved in the finale when I realized she was finally happy. The scene in which she gives birth to henry is one of my favorite scenes from all time. I also adored season 4, but it was very uneven I thought. Some episodes were up there with my favorites (typically, those relating with the alternate universe, such as when lincoln went over there, when they closed the bridge, when peter went over there etc, or those relating with the mix of timelines, such as when they are stuch in a city they cannot get out of and olivia's memories start coming back, when september tells peter he is in the actual timeline... I also loved sharing with Peter the feeling of not knowing whether or not this was our blue olivia or an amber olivia, i kept thinking if there was a blue olivia somewhere looking for him). I did not like the finale though, but the season was still very strong. I also adored season 2 in most episodes, even though it was still less serialized, but it had the best finale of the series IMO and the last run, from jacksonsville onwards is mind blowing. Season 5 is hard to quantify, i thought it was a bit "meh" in a lot of episodes but when it was good, it was really good. Still, although I liked it a lot, I think I would put it behind season 4, just tied with season 2, with my personal highlight being the peter as observer storyline, which I really liked.

    So:
    1. Season 3

    2. Season 4
    3. Season 2/Season 5
    4. Season 2/Season 5

    6. Season 1

  16. This is my order:

    3 > 2 > 5 > 1 > 4

    ReplyDelete
  17. Season 3 was the most diversified season in my opinion, it held loads of sci-fi concepts and was able to deal with so many stories simultaneously. Also, the first 8 episodes (+season 2 finale) were the best episodes in a row, in my opinion, in the whole series.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Third, then second, than first. Fourth and Five basically tied, way behind season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 3>2>1>>>>>>>4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>5
4 and 5 lost a lot of steam for me.

    ReplyDelete
  20. First half of S3 > last half of S2 > S5 > first half of S2 > S4 > last half of S3 > S1, give or take. (Which I guess translates to 2 > 5 > 3 > 4 > 1 if I'm not allowed to take the seasons in part.) The first half or so of Season 3 was phenomenal (despite it not having the incredibly emotionally-moving episodes of the last half of Season 2), but the love triangle, baby plot line, and time travel plot holes in the latter half really brought the season down for me. Season 2 had a so-so first half, and an amazing second half that only just falls below the first half of Season 3 because it wasn't as consistently amazing as Season 3's first half. I thought the last half of Seasons 2's best episodes were the best episodes of the series, but that stretch still had some good-not-great episodes in it. Season 5 was just all around solid, and I really liked what Season 4 tried to do once Peter was brought back into the picture. Season 1 was just a little too case-of-the-week for me and only had one or two really standout episodes to me.

  21. I popped in at season 3, and was curious enough to get the first two seasons and catch up. But the first season I watched remains my favorite. Even before I knew anything about Olivia, I had to struggle to keep up with two Olivias. Two Walters, two Broyles's, and figure out what each was trying to do to the other. Then there were shapeshifters and scary creatures. It was all very paranoid and fun.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Season 3 > Season 2 > Season 5 > Season 4 > Season 1.. I guess. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm glad that my choice of Season 3 is validated by the overall vole results. It also validates Fox's decision to not only renew it for Season 4 but to give it a guaranteed order of 22 episodes - they didn't want to cancel a show that both Fox and the fans cared about at the peak of its creative ability.

  24. No idea as I haven't watched much of Season 3 or 4 (but 3 especially) yet. (I'm a recently new to Fringe, started watching Season 1 and 2 on Science Channel, clips of Season 3 and 4 on youtube and some episodes on itunes, and the end of Season 5 on Fox online. Only got to see the last 3 episodes live. The last 4 episodes were amazing. I do have some favs in Season 2 and 4 though. :) So I don't know yet. From what I've seen so far, it's between Season 5 and 4 and 2, ahhh...I don't know Season 1 had some great episodes too and what I've seen of Season 3 was great too. Don't make me choose!

  25. Season 3, I'm a big fan of the RedVerse. But I loved all seasons really. I think my least favorite would be the first season, but only because I haven't watched it again in a while.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Season 3
    Season 2 "Peter"-onward
    Season 5
    Season 4
    Season 1
    Season 2 Pre-"Peter"

My favorite episodes of the series include: Peter, White Tulip, A Short Story About Love, Brave New World, Olivia, Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11, and of course Brown Betty/Lysergic Acid Dieythalmide/Letters of Transit

    ReplyDelete
  27. In the end I loved all the seasons for different reasons (I even like all the episodes for different reasons) so it's really hard to pick a favorite. But here it goes...

    3>2>5>1>4

I would have to say that season 3 is my favorite because I loved both the first and second half of the season equally. It was Fringe's strongest season in my opinion, and the first season that really made the show serialized while still incorporating monsters-of-the-week. We got to spend a sufficient amount of time in the other universe to see what it was really like, Anna Torv did some of her best acting on the show (playing Olivia, Altlivia, Olivia brainwashed into thinking she's Altlivia then after realizing the truth pretending to still be Altlivia, Altlivia pretending to be Olivia, and Olivia being taken over by William Bell), not to mention the flash-back then the flash-forward were fascinating.

The last half of season 2 was incredible and contains my top two favorite episodes in the show (Jacksonville, Peter). And of course the 2-part finale was mind-blowing. However while the first half of season 2 was good it still felt too disjointed.

Season 5 was amazing to me because I loved the idea of the Fringe team not only not having the authority to come in and take over like they did before but actually being fugitives and having to sneak around and break-in to get what they needed. However the pacing was weird in some of the episodes and it got really depressing for a while that it was almost too hard to watch.

Season 1 did what it was supposed to do which was to introduce us to the story, the characters, the science and eventually the mythology but you could tell that, as with most shows in their first season, Fringe was struggling to get its footing so it also felt pretty disjointed.

The beautiful relationship between Olivia/Walter and Olivia/Nina was great and the last half of season 4 was really good but in whole Season 4 is last mostly because I didn't like Peter being the outsider and suddenly having no relationship with his father or Olivia for over half the season...once that was established again then I loved it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm the same. It just suddenly stopped working.

  29. Season 1, then season 2, last half season 3...4.19; then 5. I liked the immediacy and excitement of the first two years, it was all unexpected, you never knew what new scary thing might lurk. As s3 became sex-farce and more about how much better the redverse was than the blue verse, it got tedious. And the fate and religion bits were too. It got too stereotypically a bleak romance for too long. I've started my re-watch from the beginning, and it's refreshing, watching the very vital, electric-with-energy Olivia and Peter, the maniacal Walter back then. But I am so very glad they got their daughter back, and know they will go get Walter back, too.

  30. Definitely season 3, it was the season that saved fringe from being cancelled in my opinion.
    so in order, 3 2 1 5 4

    ReplyDelete
  31. The first two seasonss took a while to get going. I did love the show but there it was always missing some je ne sais quoi. Season's 3 and 4 were awesome, and I think the show really peaked when Peter vanished from the machine. Season 5 has been just as good as 3 and 4, but it never really felt like 'Fringe Proper', at least not until the finale which was pure 'Fringe Ultimate'. And I really could never bring myself to give a flying monkeys about Etta :-/

    ReplyDelete
  32. I haven't watched Season 5 yet, so I'm trying hard not to read any other comments :P
Fringe was always an interesting show to me. I started watching it when it started airing here on WB, I liked it enough to tune in every week and maybe even look forward to it. But it was really in season 3 where the show got really good and went from a pretty good show to one of my favorite shows. And that still remains the best and the strongest season of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I really can't pick. I know season 3 was at the bottom of the list (it moved up when I re-watched it on DVD.... Nope. I can't pick. Either season 2 or 4.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Season 1 was my favourite.
Season 2 was a close second.
    The Season 3 premiere.
Season 4 for redeeming the alternate universe.
