The actress playing young Abby did a really good job but the writers didn't do a good job writing the Abby story. The whole thing seemed murky and unfinished.
It was OK. Then again I'm not sure how they could have topped the past couple of weeks. I love Abby. BUT... Remember the first few seasons of this show.... When Abby was a badass. She acted like a grown-up and didn't revert to infant-mode when things went wrong. Abby from 'Bloodbath' and 'Toxic' would totally kick the ass of Abby from 'Cracked' and 'Hit and Run.' Little Abby was adorable and I liked her bit but I agree, I wasn't big on the present day Abby story. It seemed as if it should have had more meat to it. This was better than 'Cracked' I'll give it that but does not stand up to classic Abby episodes. Abby has been with NCIS(and Gibbs) longer than any other member of team Gibbs save Ducky. She's a thritysomething genius so she has some eccentricities and we love that about her but I really hate it when they try and de-age her or play the baby card. Those of us who've watched from the start know the birth order of Gibbs' kids: Tony, Abby, McGee, Ziva. Oh and didn't that fortune cookie paper look to be in awfully good shape for having been kept in Gibbs wallet for over 12 years? Just saying...
The show was boring. I hated it. I do not like the baby Abby routine.............it is very old now. Time to grow up.................and out of the baby/Abby routine. She can wear her hair down and wear cool gothic adult clothes...I mean if Tony can grow up.....so can Abby. They can still have crazy cute moments but for the most part this is NCIS not New Girl or the Big Bang Theory where zany is the rule.Don't be mad NCIS fans I love the show forever, I was just very disappointed in last nights show. Thank goodness I recorded "The Followers" WOW what an episode,
I'd like to add a bit more to that. I think the thing that was missing, the bit that I would like to have seen, was more of a tie-in with the past couple of episodes. Abby is a very empathetic person; we've seen her great concern for her NCIS family repeatedly. All it would have taken is for this to have had a greater impact was to see that empathy for Vance and Ziva in the first act. It would have tied in nicely with the young Abby story considering Ricki, like Vance's kids, had just lost her mother. The windshield was the catalyst for the trip down memory lane but Abby's (NCIS) family in turmoil and her feeling helpless to fix it is a far more plausible reason for her un-Abby behavior than just a windshield or the bad-blood case which she didn't even know about it act one.
The episode just seemed unpolished to me. I know it was probably being written whilst the previous too were underway as well but considering showrunner Glasberg also has a writing credit on this episode too I felt the tie-ins should have been stronger. The momentum from the past few weeks would have been better carried over if it had.
I really enjoyed the episode and the whole Abby story. I think she is still dealing with the big kaboom and this is the reason why she is acting this way.
I loved it. I thought the story was very enthralling. I like how Abby has this emotion. Usually its just gothic strength. Different sides to her is nice. Not quite as good as the last 2 eps, but its very close.
I loved Abby's crisis in faith, I loved how she was still conflicted until Gibbs arrived to set it all straight for her. I loved the Father/ Daughter combination Gibbs has with Abby. I loved how Mcgee was so at a loss to help her. The feud between the families was terrible but the cousin creating a ponzi scheme was even worse.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Hope that makes sense.
