  1. Lauren is having more of a difficult time keeping up with the energizer succubunny. Thanks Vex for making that word.

Even Bo's conservative outfits make her ooze sex. I suppose it's really difficult to hide...those. I actually find it really funny that her first appointment had to do with sex. She just can't escape it can she? I can't believe their first real relationship fight is about THAT. Come on! It's not like I expected their relationship to be normal, but that's just silly. People say really stupid things when they're angry. People think anger forces the truth out. It really doesn't.

Kenzi is going to be dressing Hale? That's the exact opposite of what she should be doing with Hale's clothing.

Tamsin: It's like Occams Beared Trimmer.
    Dyson: Razor
    Tamsin: Whatever.

That's twice in one episode they've been naked. Or at least mostly naked. The writers of this show really know their fanbase.

Bo and Dyson...maybe I spoke too soon about the writers knowing their fanbase. -_- Now I'm bitter.

And now they're going to ruin Kenzi and Hale?! I want to punch something! Oh look, Bo talking to Lauren about what happened. I'm really not going to like this am I? Oh..the talk is delayed. Great.

Time to see what Tamsin can do? That was quick! Hah! I knew something would happen between Tamsin and Dyson eventually. Yep, Hale is officially pushing Kenzi away. That kinda pisses me off.

Okay, NOW should be the talk. Oh that look on Lauren's face...HEARTBREAKING. Lauren's understandably upset. She knows she has to share Bo. Oh now she's setting some ground rules, one of them being no Dyson. Funny story, that. Just find a fae you both like. Still, this arrangement between them isn't going to last long.

Looks like someone finally needs to get around to saving Kenzi. It really annoys me how people kept brushing her aside.

  3. wasn't this ep actually titled ConFaegion? I don't see a Fae-ed To Black episode.

  5. Um...Lauren didn't sleep with Bo on the Ash's orders. The Ash's order was to distract Bo and keep her from getting herself killed. If Lauren could have accomplished that while sharing ice cream with Bo on the couch and watching Sex in the City re-runs she would have been fulfilling the Ash's "orders" just as well.

Lauren slept with Bo because she wanted to sleep with Bo.

The circumstances weren't much different than Dyson sleeping with Bo in S1 to spy on her for Trick. Now Trick wasn't happy with the sleeping part, but he still "ordered" Dyson to keep an eye on her and report back to him about her activities. If Dyson could have fulfilled his spying duties by sitting on the couch with Bo and watching Desperate Housewives re-runs, he would have been following Trick's orders just fine. But he slept with Bo because he wanted to sleep with Bo.

  6. So agree about the Freud, Jung thing! Also, I would have felt more sympathy for Lauren losing the doctor role if she had noticed that Bo had massive internal bleeding when Bo was naked on top of her and visibly wincing. It kinda undermines both her "I'm a useful, competent doctor" and her "I care about Bo" arcs that her continued response to an injured Bo is a puzzled face.

  7. Are you trying rewrite the spybanging? The Ash's order was to "distract" the "succubus" Bo. Lauren did her hair and went over and slept with her, ie, distracted her because the Ash told her it was the way to protect her and he wanted her to do it. She trusted the Ash's orders more than she trusted honesty with Bo.

Dyson never slept with Bo for Trick. He healed her, for her--she called him. And then stopped dating her for Trick who didn't want him to get involved. He actively DIDN'T seduce her to get close and get information.

  8. Want to nitpick about job skills. How about basic rules of detective work? Dyson had been dealing with suicide cases for a while and didn't see the pattern. Tamsin looked at the files for five seconds and saw the connection. Or how about in 3.2 when Dyson abuses his power as a Fae cop to get revenge on that Ice dude. I'm not condoning domestic violence, but that was abuse of power. Also, once again, it's Lauren's brain that in essence helps saves Dyson's life. No one else saw the connection between the wounds and victims. But sure, once again Lauren has been proven useless.

  9. How is Dyson sleeping with Bo, gaining her trust, then lying to her face to protect Trick's secrets and to protect Bo from the truth about her mother and different than Lauren sleeping with her to distract her and protect her from Vex? I'm sorry "spybang" is a horribly inaccurate term for what Lauren did. I know the show uses it so I have to get over it, but it doesn't make it any less a misnomer.

  10. I agree with you on all on all counts especially the Lauren relationship. I might have been able to buy the relationship if they'd of had Lauren express at least some remorse in regards to her treatment of Bo. But, the show never has. So I just can't get behind the relationship. Also the fact that Bo needed to talk to her in the end about having to sleep with other people, I thought that was pretty redundant to- I distinctly remember them discussing this in season 1. Another part of this show that bothered me was Tricks coldness when it came to treating Kenzi. I think Kenzi has contributed a lot to the light and deserved more than that. Overall, I liked the episode though minus the Bo/Lauren part, I'd rather they have focused more on what's ailing Kenzi.

  11. LOL Rewrite? Sorry sister, I'm not the one going back and adding a line where the Ash says "Lauren, go have sex with Bo." I know you're on the SyFy boards and I know you've had the entire scene written out, including line by line dialogue, posted in response to you so I forgive me if I don't indulge your intentional blindness and/or denseness.

The Ash said to keep Bo on a leash by distracting her. Lauren was unsure if she could so the Ash, in his typical condescending demeaning way to Lauren, reminds her that Bo is a succubus and that if she wants to keep Bo alive than she better find a way to distract her.

Like I said, if Lauren could have distracted Bo all night with ice cream and girl chat on the couch it would have fulfilled the Ash's orders just as fine because....guess what....the Ash didn't order Lauren to sleep with Bo? Hell the Ash didn't even tell Lauren to SPY on Bo. Just distract her and keep her from getting herself killed. Shocker, I know but you can't change canon and 1x08 is freely available online for anyone to go back and rewatch.

And I never said that Dyson slept with Bo for Trick. I said that he SPIED on Bo for Trick and while he was spying on Bo, he slept with her too. So if anyone is deserving of the spybang title, then the wolf man got his paws all over that mantle.

  12. The primary differences? 1) Dyson had his primary secrets before he ever met Bo and they weren't his to tell 2) When they entered into a relationship, he pushed his king to tell her his king's secret, but up until then was her primary ally in dealing with the fae and in dealing with her grandfather. You aren't attacking Trick who waited 22 episodes to tell Bo she had family, not to mention sent her out of the fae life originally to grow up without knowing who or what she was. Why do you not see that as a betrayal? Why is Dyson who advocated for her, who only held back one thing--she had a mom named Aife who didn't get along with Trick and nobody knows where is because he didn't even know about Luanne so the lies in ep 1.08 regarding her weren't even lies from Dyson, only Trick--who kept her alive and introduced her to the fae and ran interference for her mistakes, who even when she wouldn't trust him put his body on the line to help her, why is he the bad guy for holding his friend's trust? 3) And this one is the MOST important, he APOLOGIZED!!!!!! Lauren "I did nothing wrong" and never once said she was sorry for anything.

Just to clarify, I don't think Trick didn't want to tell Bo to protect her from her mother. I think Trick didn't tell Bo because he didn't know if he could trust her to not turn on him when she found out he had betrayed her mother. But mainly, Trick didn't tell because without the secret there wouldn't have been a plot for season 1.

  13. Lauren is so brilliant, so why isn't she better in tune with her partner, her patients? Aranchnofaebia she doesn't notice that two of her patients, living in the same house are presenting with symptoms she is listing off, in Vexed she has no clue that Bo has been having healing sex with someone, no clue Bo has been near death several times, in Something Wicked This Fae Comes she is shocked that Bo hasn't healed and gives her a dumbstruck look when Bo says "I thought I'd leave him alive" (paraphrase). Anyone could tell that Bo was hungry, so why couldn't Lauren? Bo is falling down and a doctor doesn't go, hmmm maybe I should take a look at that? It is just one more example of crap doctoring, so the original point of the post stands, nope didn't feel for Lauren at all when Bo stepped up as a doctor for the episode and Lauren was left sitting there holding medical texts that are barely in use.

  14. What information did Dyson ever pass to Trick about Bo? What did Dyson ever do but run interference with the Light and introduce her to fae culture? When did Dyson ever seek Bo out for this supposed "spying'?

  15. I was so glad to see Bo/Dyson after so long! They are smoking hot and so sexy together. I love that Dyson saw that Bo was not well and provided her with the help she needed and that he let himself be talked down from her even before she healed him. I just hope it's not the only time they will be together this season.

Poor Kenzi. It was really sad how nobody took the time to listen to her. I thought it was weird that she did not ask Trick about her rash (him being older and knowing more than anyone else from their little "gang"), but seeing how cold he was in regard to her in the scene with Hale it might have been futile. I sincerely hope that they will all learn to appreciate Kenzi more very soon.

  16. The kenzi part really made me sad, especially since she's always there for everyone else.

  17. What you mean like how in tune Bo is? Did Bo notice she was draining Dyson in season 1? No. Does she care about Dyson's pain at all in S2? Nope. Lauren is not perfect by any means but as a scientist, she figures a lot of stuff out that no one else seems to. Saving the naga venom? Lauren. Figuring out Vex didn't take the blood and forcing him to do so thus giving Bo the extra power boost? Lauren. Figuring out how to save Kenzi's wound in 2.22? Lauren. Saving Bo and Kenzi in Arachnofaebia? Lauren. Saving Kenzi's life in 1.6? Lauren. This isn't medical show. Nor is it a cop show so I don't feel the need to tear down Dyson's lack of ability as a police officer. But if attacking trivial things like Lauren's ability as a doctor to justify you're hatred for the character makes you feel good be my guest.

  18. You can rationalize it all you want and dress it up in a pretty bow, but no matter how you look at it. He lied. He lied to her face when all she wanted was the truth from him. Yes he did it out of loyalty to Trick and protect Bo, but he still lied none the less. And before you put words in my mouth I actually have a huge problem with the fact that Bo has never held Trick accountable for lying to her and forcing others to lie for him.He has betrayed her more than anyone and it bothers me highly that this is another one of those issues that seems to keep getting pushed aside. I for one think Bo deserves and should demand an explanation from Trick. Oh and yes Lauren did apologize for her actions in 1.8.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I was simply making a point that Lauren is a bad doctor and I didn't feel for her when she was being rude to Bo. That was the original post comment and that continues to be my comment. If it makes you feel better to tear down the other characters to build Lauren back up, have at it. It's not going to make Lauren a better or more professional doctor.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You asked for differences and I provided them. But IMO reason goes a long way in an analysis.

He lied once when he said nobody knew anything about her mom. I'm not saying he was right. I'm saying that beyond his reasons for doing so, he apologized and, therefore, he can be forgiven. And no, Lauren did not apologize for her actions in 1.8. The closest you get is "how many different ways can I say I'm sorry" said in an angry tone. I'm still waiting for one "I'm sorry."

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't have to do anything to build Lauren back up. The show has created her character to be if anything passionate and proud to be a doctor and that's what I'm going with.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well all things considered I think Bo's forgiven her so I guess you're going to have to keep waiting.

  23. I guess I see the fae as always being somewhat selfish and the humans in the showing a little more decency. I'm sure Trick's behavior is connected with the further eps. I noticed that Kenzi arm's might be similar to ep 3's fiasco. This is def my fav ep this season. Hale was really great as well.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree the Bo/Dyson scenes were my favorite and even though Bo won't go there because it's to painful, it wasn't corny to watch. In the end they still care about each other and the team is still together :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I do agree that the fae are selfish, but Trick and the others have gone out of their way at times to help humans. So, to me the way he was cold about Kenzi was character regression. I expect the behaviour from Vex, the morrigan anyone but Trick. Especially after Kenzi has helped him out so much.

  26. Can't believe we're having the same old arguments hashed out again by same old intransigent views that completely alter context for the purpose of their own rosy ship glasses. Anyway, I thought everyone was stupid and have been stupid for the whole of Season 3 although some of what's on is entertaining.

Dyson always offers Bo sex with excuses and lies rather than man-up and telling her his feelings. Clearly been given no wisdom since Season 1.
Kenzi is stupid for not sticking her arm in front of Trick or Lauren and saying this goo dripped on me what can I do!
Bo is stupid for not telling Lauren the injections aren't working and she's starving. Lauren is shagged blind so she can't see that big bruise although to be fair it did disappear during sex/feeding and stupid for ignoring her big book of Succubae.
Poor Kenzi. Not! Twice she barges in on Hale. He doesn't know she's in trouble, last thing she did was appoint herself his stylist. Trick and Hale are trying to boost Hale's position so that they can get a decent Ash in place.
If you haven't noticed the above are the themes running Season 3 and depend on our characters not asking the right questions or being honest with each other. People here should be asking for characters to be written like they've got a brain and integrity so we can watch good drama, not have to suspend our intellect and throw nonsensical mud pies at the other fans for the dimming down of the skills they assure us the characters possess.
Anyway all shippers for Doccubus and Dybo are both stupid for not seeing the Valkyrie at the door. I have a feeling you can all hate her for the rest of the season, I find her rather amusing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I dunno and maybe Trick is turning into a grumpy old grandpa ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. But even Lauren pretty much admits the reason she was with Bo then was because she was ordered to be, "I'm doing what I can politically." Not to mention Bo herself comes to the conclusion Lauren slept with her because she was ordered to.

Now let's take a minute and look at Lauren's approach if all she was suppose to do was "distract" . The minute Bo decides to head out the first time, Lauren kisses her....she doesn't suggest she pause....re-think her strategy...come up with a plan (like she did during the Basilisk episode and goodness know that slowed Bo down a bit)...she goes in straight for the physical "distraction". There were plenty of things she could have done like saying she'd help out Bo figure out the Fae that could have committed the crime using her own knowledge and experience. She could have said she overheard something with the Ash and pointed Bo in the opposite direction of Vex. She's only a human and the Dark lie (as do the Light, but you get my meaning). There were a thousand ways to go about "distracting" and she immediately jumped to sex knowing Bo had expressed a desire to take things slow? I don't buy it.
As to the Ash not saying those words directly...he didn't need to because there's this little thing called sub-text and it was pretty darn clear from the look on his face what he wanted Lauren to do.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Lauren apologized to Bo that first night. Guessing y'all muted or fast forwarded past her tears and Zoie clearly said the words "I'm sorry."
