  1. liked it a lot don't understand why the kid left unless he is evil or something

  2. I think maybe he did it because he knew the observers were after him and thought he'd be saving the others by doing so. He's shown no sign of being bad. He cares about the Fringe team.

  3. So much to say,but i need to watch it again, but a couple of thoughts.

I feel in love with September, and Michael Cerveris. He was just brilliant in this episode tonight. And damn he look good out of that suit and fedora, put him in some clothes and hair and you can take him home to mama!!! WOW!

NO,No,NO Walter cannot die! Oh please,he has suffered for so long...shit!

What a freaking great episode,so now we know how the Observers came about. And damn, the Observers now remind me of cockroaches, can't get rid of em,even when the apt.get fumigated.

    More later!

  4. my only complain again is fucking Astrid, so far this season she's nothing but the team's help. Like this shift didn't affect her at all. Not even a single scene. but over all such an outstanding episode.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yep,he care and i also believe that was his reason for walking off the train,to save the team....and maybe his dad to.

  6. Well, it wouldn't be Fringe without some kind of impossible task. Creating the mother of all time paradoxes in an attempt to uncreate a race of people that, as far as we know, are immune to being uncreated by changes in time? We wish you all the best of luck.

  7. Amazing what hair does, huh laura? lol

  8. I'm curious as to how the altverse is supposed to help. I was so glad we focused back on our universe and team this season and then all of a sudden the answer is them? Mmmm. Not sure how I should take this.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ha! Wow,wow, wow! :D Even his voice changed, more human yet still soft.Michael really hit it out of the park tonight! I hope this wasn't the last we saw of him, but if it is i am so happy we were able to see him again, and like this! A highlight of this episode, for sure!

  10. She is suppose to have a very important part next week. But don't forget with only 13 episodes there was a lot to squeeze in,plus she is a supporting character.Unfortunate but true and the focus is on the main characters.

  11. Awesome episode!

2 of my theories I'd come up with came true. Michael is September's son! OMG. :D As soon as September/Donald greeted him, I knew I was right. Everything makes sense. Why Michael was hidden, why September was there in 1x15 when Michael was taken away in the car.

2nd one I hoped wouldn't come true! No! Walter has to die for the plan to work! I had thought he'd die because Michael gave him all his memories back, but I had hoped I was wrong. :(

Best part about the episode was seeing so much of September, human. It was strange, but a very good strange. :D Loved his interactions with Michael and Walter. September/Donald having tears in his eyes when he was talking with Walter made that scene even sadder (he made the impossible, possible).

so true! I thought that Michael Cerveres was amazing from the moment he stepped out into the hall he just immedietly took it and did awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  13. He really did make it possible.

i agree with the others he did it to protect them on the train

  15. Yes,this was his episode. He was brilliant and i fell in love with him tonight, all over again!

  16. Forgot to add on my last post...

I don't understand the reset. Does this mean they're going to reset everything? With Walter never having brought Peter to this side? But then, if the plan works, how will Olivia and Peter end up together and have Etta? And if the observers wouldn't exist how does September/Donald believe he and Michael will?

    Spoilers for next week...

I'm so worried after watching the promo with what appears to be Peter fading! Please no!

  17. i know and i understand that, but one scene would not have been too hard early on in the season. To give us some emotional attachment to her, i mean, we got it with both Broyles and Nina and they were there even less. I do hope her part she is supposed to play is able to redeem the other 11 episodes (and most of season 4 but i forgave season 4 because it had maybe 2 or 3 seasons worth of material crammed into one season) of emotional blankness we got for her but i will stay cautious not to hope too much. Other than that though i think the season is absolutely FANTASTIC though.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Me too!

I only recently started watching the series and September was one of the reasons. (I saw clips online then decided to check out Fringe on The Science Channel when it started up, and now here I am.)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Cool! Its an outstanding series really. This show has touched me in so many ways and on so many levels, their has never been another show that has done this to me, ever.I still cannot find the right words what this show means to me.I'm so glad you found Fringe, its going to take you on a wonderful journey, over and over again!

    ReplyDelete
  20. ...

I'm speechless, it's going to take a few moments to let this settle in my mind. Also it's 5.38 am so sleeping would be a good idea anyhow. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm so glad too! Hopefully the finale doesn't disappoint. I love this show too much now.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Awesome episode as usual... I think this show, Community, and Person of Interest can do no wrong in my eye. Anyway, about Fringe.

So much September/Donald! I figured, as soon as September saw Michael, that Michael was his son. And back when the season started and we became privy to there being a plan, I was guessing/worrying that Walter would not survive the show. But that initial thought was that he would be killed, not sacrificing himself for everyone (literally). While I would be terribly upset if Walter dies, if he goes down saving everyone, he will be the true hero and reached his redemption (which in my mind he already had).

Now about the plan. Resetting time, while interesting, worries me about what if Peter/Olivia don't meet and fall in love. The Peter we've grown to know would be saved by Walternate and stay in the Red universe. I don't know. What will happen... I must know... but I don't want to know yet... I want to watch it... can I watch it now? I am extremely excited for next week and supremely saddened that it will be the final episode ever.

    ReplyDelete
  23. In my opinion, he knows their plan won't work and he has his own plan to fix everything.

    ReplyDelete
  24. His Dad....September! :D

One of my favorite reveals I've seen on TV ever.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He was in the promo. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm not sure, but if the observers never exist, September would never distract Walternate from synthesizing Peter's cure in the redverse. So that means that redverse Peter would live without Walter's help. But if so, how would Peter cross over to the blue verse?

There's a lot of possibilities for it, but I just don't know!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm thinking the same as you. Right now it sounds so messed up. Maybe it's been considered wrong that Walter crossed over and kept Peter, but Peter and Olivia are meant to be, I can't see another way for them!

    ReplyDelete
  28. The only thing I truly needed for the show to end well has now happened. Walter remembers Peter and their relationship. I'm good to see to the end now.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Unless Michael takes himself out of existence for a while, I don't see how he could survive :(

But, even if Peter isn't saved by Walter and crossed to the blueverse, there are still ways he could met Olivia; she can cross universes on her own. But WHEN would she??

    So many questions!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Okay flame me all you want but I'm a big fan of Fringe but I have to say I have really been bored and disappointed by s5 and tonight's episode was the worst yet. I really miss the alternative universe, cortexiphan and monster of the week stories. That was the Fringe I loved. I miss Broyles, Charlie and Lincoln. I just hope next weeks finale makes up for it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Shallow note September is kind of attractive with that hair.

Proper thoughts I really loved this episode, all the Walter/Peter stuff was amazing, also the Donald scenes were great.

I am with others though about the reset, it would erase observers completely so yeah Alt!Peter aka our Peter would have stayed in the redverse. Or even if Walter did crossover, he still would have drowned in the lake without September's help. So I am not entirely sure what is going on there. Maybe they don't need a reset just a new universe or something.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How would a time reset bring back Etta? I hope the writers haven't forgotten that without the Observers Peter would be in the Red!Verse.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Fantasitc episode and great performances from the cast!!

I loved September/Donald in this episode, and the Observers little tap-dance was adorable! I can't wait to see how are they going to bring all of these characters into the final episode, I think they've built them up pretty great for their last stand. And I honestly don't know for whom I should be more scared.

I think there are probably millions thoughts and ideas swarming in my head right now, so I'm going to wait until I see the very last second of it. Only thing that stands out is that I'm 99,9999 % sure (you never know with Fringe) that we didn't see, nor understand, the whole plan, and the whole point of the plan. I'm eagre to see how it will all play out.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I've got a theory for the ending, as pointed out if the observers didn't exist then Peter would have been saved in the Red Universe, but this season as well as last they've re-enforced the idea of remembering alternate timelines so I reckon Peter will grow up in the Red Universe and both Olivia and Peter will remember each other and the final scene will be them embracing each other

    ReplyDelete
  35. Joel said in his interview that he didn't want to throw in another universe. Now we all know that he has denied, or maybe i should say not wanting to confirm things (at comic con when asked about Bell,he didn't want to say one way or the other) so who knows?

    ReplyDelete
  36. This!!!! That is why everyone who watches loves this show, for all the those reasons. Now you know what makes this little show so special, and our fandom so great!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes,i finally saw him,yay! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Awesome! I love this episode and I might have cried a little. Like every one else, I wonder how they're gonna reunite peter and Olivia if the observers are erased because if they never exister then september never interrupted walternate and walter never had to cross over and peter and olivia never met.

    ReplyDelete
  39. He was pretty secretive when he was asked about the reset on the TCA panel (while on Fringe Benefits Project), and judging from his reaction, I think we are yet to find out what really is going on, so yeah, a lot of things could find its way back into the final episodes - it would be amazing if Bell appeared!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8huy8H9t0vY

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes i saw this.Lou is being real good and not watching or reading any of the spoilers,so i figured telling her what Joel said wasn't really a spoiler since he doesn't tell us everything! Joel's funny, since we do know how he is its easier to read him.He might not use words but his body language and facial expressions tell us a lot.

I will be very surprised if Bell doesn't pop up somewhere in the finale, that would be one loose thread left hanging...Its possible they are saving it for the book, but i can't see Joel not having him in somehow....We'll see next week...

I can't believe the finale is upon us.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Maybe that's where Walter's sacrifice comes into play. I don't know how, but maybe he's the one that will ensure Peter will live.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yes, he walked off the train and right into the arms of Windmark basically. I'm wondering about Windmark beginning to show 'human emotions'. Telling his boss about his feelings in trying to capture the team, and toe tapping to the music in the apt. Maybe Michael can sense these things and will try bringing out more humanity in him. It's a huge maybe, but perhaps he'll try saving the situation this way. Or maybe all Windmark will do is get himself red flagged.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yes i agree. Even tho Windmark said he is consumed with getting the team, you can see (to me anyway) the stirrings taking place in him.The toe tapping aside from making me laugh, just confirms the change taking place.Maybe that's the reason why The boy is so important?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree,if nothing else i was dreading the thought of it ending w/o Walter being able to remember their relationship, how much he loved his son,and how much his son loved him.

'One night i was up late making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you slipped and called me dad.'

    ReplyDelete
  45. I liked the episode but I'm not sure if the team's logic or mine is flawed.

If the Observers had never existed, the. Amber. timeline. would. not. exist.

Also, the Observers' shouldn't exist at all since invading in 2036 should've prevented 22nd century scientists to create the species that already exists. That could've already happened when September created the 2026 paradox, in which the 22nd century and the Observers' creation never happened.

Not sure if I'm thinking or understanding it in a wrong way, but there has to be much explaining to make that logical... can anyone help me out? :D I feel stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Nice episode. September is the man. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they resolve this. I'm confident they will do it well, and none of this 'walking into a bright light at the back of a church' nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Darth has been quiet. Do you still think Peter is in the machine? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  48. The saddest thing is that everyone is aware of the other timeline now, except her. Poor girl. :p

    ReplyDelete
  49. That was one of my favorite moments on the show and this line touched me more than anything else in the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hah thanks for vetting the video for me! I mean I'm pretty sure Joel previously implied we wouldn't see the red verse again and that is happening so he is pretty sneaky.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yep,i cried my eyes out during that scene,it was beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  52. He is that alright! :) Now watch,that doesn't happen but a whole other universe,lol.... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Every second of the episode made me feel amazed, tear eyed or simply just happy to be a fan of this show. I'll be missing Fringe when it's gone, but I cannot wait for the next, and last, episode.

September and his son: YEY. Loved it. Now we know where the Observers came from. And we know where the kid observer came from. I loved it that we got a hole lot of answers in one conversation. And after following a story of a man and his son- Walter and Peter - during 5 seasons, we get a new father and a new son that will help save everyone (and in the end, it is their story - September and Michael- we had been following all along, we just didn't know it).

I also loved the tiny things (I must have missed a lot of them), they felt like a present to the fans - like they have been all season long.

    ReplyDelete
  54. "The future" is made up of many "Possible futures" that are all happening simultaneously, as September told Walter in "The Firefly" The Observers are doing their best to ensure that their particular possible future is the one that comes to pass, thus the whole 99.9999% probability thing Windmark and Commander Baldy were discussing. That is what it is all about. 2167 is a possible future, that just happens to be the past for the Observers, in fact their point of origin or genesis, if you like.

The timeloop from season 1-3 preserved their possible future since the machine parts were sent back before the universe actually died, thus their future was still possible since the ever repeating loop could eventually be broken due to time-travel which they had use of.

So we have these bad guys from a possible future, who have the ability to travel to the past that their possible future stems from, which allows them to maintain the "open" status of their particular possible future.

In order to get rid of them, then you'd just have to stop their genesis, thus ending their possible future thus retroactively resetting the timeline of all events that ever had anything to do with them .

    ReplyDelete
  55. THANKS! It makes much more sense to me now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Caught up on the 3 episodes I was behind today and I'm back on side with the show. I always felt if they went back and made it feel more streamlined with seasons 1-3 I'd be happy.

Water remembering was the big thing... thankfully that has now happened! :) It means that the show can be truly about the three main characters and their story through the timelines & universes which from a character perspective is perfect.

In terms of the "Fringe" aspect of the show, I like the idea of a reset, or a changing time. It all feels very LOST in places; almost as if this is Abrams' Science show as opposed to his faith one. In LOST we saw them regain memories at the end through belief, whilst Fringe tackles things through science.

Both shows hinge on strong bonds, love, friendship and family as well. I enjoy seeing the similarities of the grand themes both LOST and Fringe tackle, despite tackling them from polar opposite ends of the spectrum. A part of me feels that the Fringe finale will be an easier concept to accept than LOST ever was; I'm much more a man of science and as much as I love believing in the idea of what LOST did, I would always prefer the scientific fact that Fringe always presents.

How its going to end I'm not sure. I feel Walter has been destined to sacrifice himself from the start, but a part of me feels that there's more to it than a simple sacrifice. He is almost a parallel of September, whilst both sacrificed and risked too much for the safety of their sons, and yet both have been able to find a way to save them. Could the show go a route whereby September and Walter are on the same path? I don't see how this would work but both travelled somewhere they should not and meddled with something that they never should have done. Almost like in "The Firefly", September travelling into our time to save his son brought about his meddling which brought about the death of Peter in the red universe. It all seems very interconnected, and so I'll need to think about this more rather than spilling words into this comment box :-P

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm wondering if the hand, Walter find with Peter in his old car, back in Season 1, has something to do with the hand Walter took from Bell.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Surprised that none of the characters discussed the problems with annihilating the Observers from future existence: no rescuing Peter in the past and so on. I'd imagine that at least Peter or Walter would have mentioned that particular flaw.

Didn't really manage to thoroughly enjoy the episode because I'm just starting to become way too confused about the different timelines and futures and resets. Until this episode I didn't even realize that Walter doesn't remember any Peter stuff pre-S4. But anyway, Donald was great (though why he would equip the bomb in his apartment with a so, so, so very visible warning blip baffles me), and next week looks like it'll be a blast!

    ReplyDelete
  59. That would only complete half of my wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Would be neat if they didn't have to change the timeline completely in order to defeat the observers.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Very touching it was. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. My brain still melted. lol

I like time travel stuff, it's neat, but at the same time makes my head hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  63. "The Boy Must Live"

Thoughts and Questions about "The Plan" - It seems like if this is really going to work, then Michael would have to touch Dr. Davos and the other scientists to heal them, since they already believe emotions are not intellectually progressive. I am not sure though that they wouldn't still create Observers, after meeting Michael, but perhaps a different kind? -Additionally if the plan would stop all creation of the Observers, then this would mean September would no longer exist. I'm torn now if Walter isn't suppose to remember the plan, because he is suppose to to figure out another way, or if not remembering the plan is part of the plan???

That last part brings me back to some more Eastern Philosophy nods in the episode. Walter and Peter pass a distinct Asian women when preparing to board the monorails. September/Donald also tells Walter when discussing the missing White Tulip that 'Only Walter Knows Where He Put It!" -and this goes with the philosophy behind Peter's favorite book: "if You Meet the Buddha on the Road, Kill Him!", as it's meant to teach you that only you can know what things mean to you, and not to take someone else's word at face value. This leads back to the idea, that even "if" September and Michael know, the point is for Walter to experience remembering for himself, just like his decision to sacrifice himself.

And back to plan again, Walter takes out his "Black Umbrella" when going to September's/Donald's apartment and Donald was named for the actor in "Singing in the Rain". -Nice tie backs to Walter's mother (loved musicals and show tunes), but also nice winks back at Lost with Desmond in "Flashes Before Your Eyes" and Charlie 'singing "Wonderwall" in the rain, as I Believe Desmond was networking memories from various time lines...

Another Lost shout out was "the music box". This one played Scarborough Fair"
    From Wiki:
Scaborough Fair is a traditional ballad of Great Britain and more precisely Yorkshire.
The song relates the tale of a young man who instructs the listener to tell his former love to perform for him a series of impossible tasks, such as making him a shirt without a seam and then washing it in a dry well, adding that if she completes these tasks he will take her back. Often the song is sung as a duet, with the woman then giving her lover a series of equally impossible tasks, promising to give him his seamless shirt once he has finished.

This goes with Fringe's initial tagline and perhaps final mission: Imagine the Impossible!

The Key "A Minor" was also mentioned again. It was mentioned a few episodes back. It is known as a "sad" key.

Unresolved Issue: Is Peter using the implant an anomaly, or is it just regarded by the Observers as a defect, as human emotions may not achieve the best results??

And wasn't Donald captured? (Edwin - "The Recordist") How did he escape??

Can the Observers be healed by Michael? Can Michael change Windmark? -Can music change them? (Loved the Jazz record scene! Curious that Windmark would listen at all and then his partner seemed to really enjoy the the rythem!)

And then we have the possibility that what 2167 was not mentioned...as the red universe could have one too! -This might be the key into why the red universe is important. -That they relate to Observer evolution in some way?!

I like seeing Olivia really wanting her daughter back! For once she's not just doing her job for everyone else, she's finally doing something for personal reasons and is showing regrets...

Loved the polar opposites with Windmark and Michael coming face to face!

    Great episode! Truly loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  64. It was not Scarborough Fair, it was Greensleeves, which shares a melody with the very apt "What Child is This" thus signifying a Christ-like child that will usher in the new age of perfect humanity. Also I've said in the past that Michael also represents The Archangel Michael. In the bible Michael was the very angel that fought and defeated Satan in the battle of Heaven, and it was Michael that sent Satan hurling down to Earth. This is represented in that Michael is the key piece to the plan, and he will be the one to send the evil Observers into oblivion.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thanks. They sound very similar. When I was in choir in grade school I think we sang a rendition that comprised of both SB and Greensleeves and both have similar themes, as doing the impossible is also VERY Christ like. It's been a long time since I heard either. My apologies that I thought otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  66. At this point no. It seems too straight forward to go back there now. -Although will be curious to know if not knowing the plan is part of the plan, or if another plan is needed has been made?!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Actually it's more complicated. The Observers timeline has to "co-exist" with ours in order for September to take the tulip from there to here and for him to hide Michael there....So either it's been along side the other iterations, never getting destroyed, or the iterations were always apart of this time line and where constantly resetting all per-Observer time periods and they somehow preserved their end...

    ReplyDelete
  68. another very valid point!

    ReplyDelete
  69. But this Astrid uses guns!

    ReplyDelete
  70. No apology necessary. We don't get em' all right, all the time ;)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Agreed and I think he enacting his own plan...(whether it's the original one from 2015 remains to be seen since Walter doesn't remember and Donald/September is being a little vague, but I think Michael knows what he is doing)

    ReplyDelete
  72. Ya...It seems like September has been working hard on this during the whole course of the series! I think Fringe definitely explains the quantum mechanics better and ften, but I think LOST remained true to it's concept by not point blank spelling it out. But Fringe to me (so far) tied with Lost as my favorite Bad Robot series, because they share so much heart and emotion woven into the science/concepts, making them both very enduring empirical philosophical pieces that I hope they continue the tradition of down the road...

    ReplyDelete
  73. Amazing episode with incredible, simple and nostalgic moments. John did an amazing performance. The scene between Walter and Peter was just perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  74. They are similar. both in the key of A minor, traditionally. One thing about A minor is that although it has what one might see as sad notes, it is also shares the same notes as C major which is known as the happy sounding key. For example, the C major scale and the A minor scale are relative scales. C major contains the notes C, D, E, F, G, A and B. The A natural minor scale contains the notes A, B, C, D, E, F and G. They have the same exact group of notes only their root note is different. This represents, to me at least, that what seems sad, can be replaced very easily for good.

    ReplyDelete
  75. How do we know that he didn't take the white tulip while the blue timeline was still in effect, and we just didn't see it happen? Like when he back traveled to the 1985 Reiden Lake incident to enact the erasure protocol.

We know he did it, but we never saw it. Perhaps he did it all in the same time travel moment. i/e he slipped away to Walter's house and grabbed the White Tulip while everyone was busy staring at Peter after he got out of the machine, then slipped back to 1985 Reiden Lake and allowed Peter to drown, thus creating a new history from that point on in the timeline, then got back just in time to have December tell him that his plan worked, and that no one remembers Peter anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  76. To add the angel analogy, Michael was also said to be the first angel created, after Lucifer (which is another story altogether). the name Micha'El (Michael) means "Who is like God" considered to be the first and chief angel since the fall of Lucifer. This alludes to Michael being the prototype for a new angelic type of Observer. Perhaps Observer will not be extinguished, but rather changed into more enlightened beings.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm hoping for behavior modification too.

    ReplyDelete
  78. You really know your music! I didn't know C major, A minor, etc. had more than one note in it though thinking of it now it seems like common sense to me. I haven't had a lot of music classes. Found learning notes confusing. I'm more of an English, history, and somewhat more of a Science person.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Donald was indeed captured, but he said he was released after questioning. They marked him though- put a tracking chip in his neck because they considered him an offender for trying to get the rocks. He cut out the tracking chip before he left his place with Walter, Olivia, Peter and Michael. That's why the observers went to his home.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I would have thought they'd considered that too. Especially with Olivia saying they might get Etta back. If they go all the way back how could that happen? Peter has to be saved by September in order for them to meet if they stop the observers from being created. And she or he crossing over to one another's universes would be extremely unlikely as Walter would never consider crossing over if alt. Peter had been cured by his father. And they wouldn't know they had to meet each other. Peter would probably end up with alt. Olivia. Therefore Etta would never be born. So how would they have any hope of getting Etta back in less they keep their memories or don't go with the plan?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Thanks! -Although I love music, I would never consider myself musically inclined! :D

    ReplyDelete
  82. Me neither. My sitar just sits there. Hopefully one day I will take lessons and become a little more savy

  83. He did take it from there, but in order for it to be here, he had to take it sometime here, just like if Michael was from here, then he places Michael in the past there (inner child) and then somehow Michael came back here again.....I am just saying it proves some type of co-existence

  84. Wow. Hadn't thought of it that way. That would be really Intersting.

  85. As much as I have been enjoying this episode, I agree. I miss the red!verse and Lincoln!! Every week I pray we see them but each week we don't. Lets hope the finale gives us something we've been waiting for

  86. Amazing episode!!
I loved seeing September again (now all we need is Lincoln and I will be complete) and Michael being his son was awesome. (Although I didn't like that they changed "the boy is important" to mean Michael not Peter)
Worried that a reset will mean walternate saves Peter and he stays in the red!verse but maybe he and fauxlivia will have their son again. Henry was only not meant to exist according to the observers. It will just be kinda sad for all of us.
Also, if September can't time travel and do all his observer stuff because his chip was removed, why don't they just get another chip off a dead observer (such as the ones in Nina's black lab) and insert it in September?

Best part was Walter remembering our original timeline with Peter. That scene was just beautiful and emotional and heartwarming.

Can't wait for the finale to see what they give us but still sad it's coming to an end

  87. Unless it's fate, that one way or another they're meant to be together. Fringe could end with the notion that a bridge was still made in yet another new timeline, but "how" it comes to be made (like in the amber time lines) is different and perhaps no longer directly relates to Walter Bishop...Peter could come for business and meet Olivia anyways...(he takes on the role of the amber-blue Lincoln Lee...is looking for a new place to be/discover)

Although I think it's unlikely now, one reason I liked going back to the end of season 3 in some way, was because then the characters wouldn't loose the whole of their current identities.- The foundation of their relationship would be the same...

  88. Although I can appreciate where you are coming from, I think the way season five is written is beautiful because it's our last chance to know who these people are verses who they want to be. All of those cases of the week and the "fringe" events are the foundation of their fates and their relationships. Season 5 lets us look at our characters again from another alternate perspective as they face humanity's children come back to haunt them in the name of progress. Each episode both has a procedural feel by dealing with certain parts of the plan, but also is building a story about repeated events and their continual suffering dealing with loss and regret and a need to change. I would be way more disappointed to not let the characters shine and take one last look at themselves in the world, then have a hundred meaningless Fringe events. -Because those events are part of what made who they are.

I have some faith that we the final episodes will tie up some things and be action packed. And perhaps we haven't seen the last of the red universe...

  89. Ok. I was confused if this was truly post September or not. I didn't recall if they said if they let him go or not. Thanks. :)

  90. Yep I agree! "Making Angels" FTW!

  91. I think at this point, unless they loop back to season 1 again, (which would suggest that the whole show is in a giant causality loop that consists of two universes, with two timelines apiece) then we can just say it was a nice call-back, or possibly even an abandoned plot possibility.

Although, since we still have 2 more episodes until the end, it is still possible that somehow it will be a giant loop, but I would not see that as a satisfying ending to the show myself, unless of course they can tie it all together properly somehow.
Of course we have September's/Donald's joke/comment to Peter about the tech being able to fold space and time into a "Mobius strip" which does, funny enough, suggest a large never ending double loop.

  92. Micheal indeed has his own plan.He could of touch Olivia so he could show it to her,but then we wouldn't have a story next week.....We will just have to wait.

I hope we don't get a lot of promos and such,i really don't want to know anymore. We only have 2 hrs of story telling left,we should be surprised about something!

  93. I'm dreading it and can't wait all at the same time!

  94. Yep,we are both experiencing being bi-polar,schizophrenia,the Dr. Jekyll Mr.Hyde all rolled into one!! :P And yet another article from EW said to by a box of tissues..Its going to be Walter and i'm dreading it,just dreading it...I can't even bring my self to say the words.

  95. When I refer to C major and A minor, I am referring to the Keys. Every piece of music is intonated to a certain key, or in some instances key(s). Keys are made up of notes on a scale that inform the corresponding chords. Chords are a voicing of two or more notes played either in unison. a chord can also be voiced in a series of single ringing sounds, called an arpeggio. I could go on, but I hope this explains what I meant.

  96. You should send it to me, I've always wanted to play a sitar. ;)

  97. Yep. It was post September.

Just a related thought, I was surprised they let him go after the rock thing, considering his past. The Season 5 observers aren't as gun-ho sort to speak, as I thought they were. Even now it's only really Windmark who wants to kill members of the Fringe team and Donald (his boss doesn't want to).

  98. Sorta. lol Which is the best you'll get from me.

    ReplyDelete
  99. And that is why I also liked that.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Me too! -I mean they finally made a point to suggest Windmark is getting emotional (the negative ones), but when they say they have 99.99% probability for success, I was trying to figure out success for what? Why invade at all? The only thing that makes sense is either about their existentialism, or some experiment on humanity...

  101. Everything you've said about what/why you love Fringe, is exactly what I love about it too. Welcome to the Fringeverse!

  102. Michael would exist, because he would be 'the white tulip'...It's just all of the others who might not.

  103. Not nonesence. The faded into the light (light is energy) so that they could transform into the consciencness of the next corporeal time line they created when they time traveled to the 1970's...a life time with out direct contact with the Island, as the flash sideways started to show them.

  104. I wondered if there was a bigger loop with in the smaller ones! Glad I'm not the only one!
