Interesting idea, but for me the premise was a bit odd. Kinda weird how she would schmooze back into the lives of that family if she hadn't been friends with Vivian for years. At least most of them (well, all but the father it seems) is somewhat suspicious of her. I would be...
I'll give it another week to see if I want to stick with the show though. Can never tell by the pilot alone.
Reminds me of Revenge meets Veronica Mars in a way. It was good though there were some weak points but nothing that will turn you off. I love the twists and it surprised me more than recent episodes of Revenge so I'll give it a try considering it's airing all its episodes straight
Not bad. The Pilot itself is pretty straight forward and makes the characters and the general plot easy to understand. I also like the flashbacks. I feel it's something that can really make a show more interesting. I also like the way it's filmed. It's not that it has anything in particular that makes it stand out, but it is pleasant to look at.
I hope though that once we get past a couple of episodes the pace will slow down a little and more character driven plots will emerge. I can totally understand with it's premise why the Pilot and few episodes after would be this way, but I would like it more if I could hang on scenes a little longer.
I'm willing to wager that every family member has secrets and that they are more at odds with each other than we know. Even the brother having the ring, doesn't mean he was the killer, but clearly he is protecting someone. At the same time there might be someone who knows who she is (her occupation) and maybe want her help. On the other hand someone might set her up so she can be black mailed or more easily killed. (Because if the family would push her away, it would look even more suspicious...)
It takes a little stretch of the imagination to believe it, but I think we really don't know these people yet or there entangled motives...
i loved the pilot. the acting was really good and i liked the pace of the show and the twists and relationships between the characters that will be unfolding. I will be sticking around with it. the 2.0 rating is okayish, but the real test will be how it holds moving forward. In any case, i will be watching and hoping that, if it is canceled this season, the writers know with enough time to tell us the identity of the killer and some closure.
I actually liked this pilot. I didn't have high hopes for it but even though it's just more of the same, it feels like a more grown up Veronica Mars (which is a plus in my book) and I like all of the actors involved so I think I will stick with it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

It wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be but i'm not sure l'll be staying with it..
ReplyDeleteThis had a little bit of a Revenge fibe for me, only with a cop angle and of course the fact that we don't have any info on what happened.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely stick around if it will keep up this speed (and quality).

I give it a B+

ReplyDeleteAnd we all thought that the Grayson's on Revenge are a screwed up family on television... think the Bowers family just stole their status =P
ReplyDeleteI liked it. Nothing new or groundbreaking but it was a good pilot, the flashbacks weren't too forced and I'm curious to see more.
ReplyDeleteAnd if Wes Brown (Julian) wants to be naked in every episode, I'm not complaining.
