Eh, it was interesting and okay. It started off kinda slow, but picked up near the end. A+ music choices, though. Approve immensely of Phil Collins and everything (except for Tusk, because I love Fleetwood Mac, but loathe that song).
She clearly doesn't like her husband all that much, but that seems like it may change. He's clearly in love with her. And whoa at the car sex after they disposed of the body.
May give this show another chance because it does look interesting, but not sure yet.
Well Dahne has me paying more attention to the music and I LOVED Fleetwood Mac's Tusk and Phil Collins In The Air Tonight, thought they both fit perfectly. Was surprised when it was over and noticed it was almost 2 hours, it did not seem that long as it kept me interested from start to finish. My Hopper is set and I am already ready for the next ep.
At last a decent new drama, I thought it got off to a great start last night. Already I am in love with Elizabeth and her hard-line no nonsense attitude and with Phillip and his conflicted love for the country he is secretly waging a war against. Brilliant stuff.
Trying way way too hard and not getting there. I would have preferred they tried less hard and succeeded more. Saying "but hey wait we're complex and edgy" isn't an excuse for bad dialogue and unlikable characters and not committing to grit and reality if that is what you are going for. Pick one: stylized or real. And two thumbs down for the misplaced and badly chosen soundtrack--and I like 80s music. They didn't even try to make them look 20 years younger for the flashbacks. The American propaganda stuff, the "something is off about him" discussion was all so heavy heavy handed and unrealistic. Not for me. But I may see if the second episode is better.
I liked it way more than i thought i would. Definitely sticking with it. Well done, well acted and intriguing enough for me to want to come back. Count me in
Interesting premise and so far decent performances so far, but didn't grab me enough to make appointment tv, but still liked it enough to give it 3 more eps to keep/drop
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
