Parks and Recreation - To air in syndication on WGN America

WGN America has picked up off-network rights to the Amy Poehler-led ensemble from NBCUniversal Cable and New Media Distribution.

The Chicago-based cable channel has nabbed rights to all seasons of the comedy and will begin airing episodes in September. (The exact scheduling has yet to be determined.)

    Yup, am now 100% convinced of renewal! And hopefully this will bring a lot more viewers, like it did for TBBT.

    Oh Thanks!! I thought it was something else entirely! I finally get it :p and when does a show "enter" (I don't if I'm using the right vocabulary here...) in syndication? Because I'm seeing a lot of comments like : "it won't get cancelled, it's too close to syndication" etc.

    This is "off network syndication" and it happens when shows have between 88 and 100 episodes.



    Syndication makes a lot of money for the networks producing the shows, and thus, when they reach this point, they're pretty much safe from cancellation.



    So this is a really good sign.

    It's maybe a stupid question but what does syndication means??? And is it so important for shows??

    Syndication is the repeats that air on another channel that isn't the one it originally airs on. It's important for shows because that means new viewers and this pretty much guarantees a renewal.
