Yeah the red cloak is an interesting touch, but I love the magnifying glass, because the "O" in Once is also a magnifying glass. Either there is literally a special object and/or it's a motif in both examination and being able to see the future...
The Doctor's episode title card was in black and Frankenstein lives in a black and white world. So maybe this is the title card for the episode 2.12 'In the Name of the Brother.' But Idk what Rumpel is doing here then.
Well what's kind of interesting is that we know Whale was coming to Rumple for help in "The Doctor" and it presented an argument of science verses magic (which I stand with Arthur C. Clark on this, but clearly Whale didn't).
There were references to The Wizard of Oz in "The Doctor" as well, but the thing about The Wizard of Oz is, that many of it's inhabited such as Oz and Dorothy come from "our" reality. -And like the original 1939 film (and originsal Frankenstein films), I think the black and white reality is actually meant to be the past of the Land with Out Magic...
So that's Rumplestiltskin in red cloak with a magnifying glass... To magnify something... Tiny? He sort of reminds me of Sherlock Holmes (a connection to Rumple looking for Bae?)
The OUAT website this is re-posted from claims it's from 2x11, but a lot of fans thinks it's from 2x12 (the upcoming Dr. Whale/Frankenstein episode, b/W background + Rumple takes a huge part in that episode). Hmmm...

Is that Red/Ruby?

ReplyDeleteIt's Rumplestilskin.
Interesting that it's not the usual blue and black. Is he holding a magnifying glass?

Ya. I think the possibilities are endless as it might weave Whale, Rumple, and Ruby together a little more...along with Jefferson.
