I'm not exactly crazy about it either. But I believe they felt they had to give him another backstory episode because "The Doctor" wasn't really all that much about him after all.
Oh I love this. I love the color-less effect, I love the different feel from usual FTL Flashbacks. More of this, show. I would love on if every other world we visit would also have different way of filming. can you imagine a world filmed entirely in Stop-motion ?
I don't mind the Whale backstory; however they're trying to balance too many parallel stories and that doesn't seem to be working this season. It's gets distracting sometimes when they keep switching back and forth, especially when there's a major conflict running in parallel with a minor one. The minor one then seems like a waste of screentime (which is what happened in 2x05; the modern FTL scenes seemed like commercial breaks compared to the central Regina/Daniel/David/Henry drama).
I'll like it in the long run as long as it involves other characters and shows its relevance to the overall story. We know Whale's involvement with Rumple and Regina, but that doesn't explain what he was doing back in FTL when the curse was enacted. But right now, I agree with you, I couldn't care less.
Has nobody else noticed he said "here on Earth" at the end? Is Whale just from the past and not FTL somehow? Personally I have a feeling he somehow met up with the Hatter and went to Oz to study more science, became the Wizard of Oz, and thats where he was when the curse hit...might be a long shot...
I kinda like this theory. Makes sense to me. After all, we didn't see where he was when the curse hit. The name change could've been because of the curse, like with everyone else.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
THIS IS CORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ! Not Henry :'((((((((
ReplyDeleteBITCH ! That's disgusting :'(
Ahh.. the sloppy President is back!
ReplyDeleteAll cowboys have daddy issues.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that don't really care about Whale's backstory?? I hope they don't waist to many scenes of this...
ReplyDeleteSame. I wasn't really impressed by their ~other world.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to sneak peak 4?

ReplyDeleteThe first sneak peak was given on Monday, then the other 3 earlier were rolled into one. Making this sneak peak 5.

ReplyDeleteThanks. I missed the first one..
ReplyDeleteGood ol' Gregory Itzin. His characters are always a thorn in someone's side.
