  1. The writers must have seen the drinking game for this show and know that "I will always find you" is an automatic chug and are trying to give the fans alcohol poisoning.

But seriously, WHY THE FUCK is Charming looking so shocked? You've been working with Regina for weeks now. You're babysitting her kid. But good work on the heads up, Emma.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Damn, I can't believe I am saying this but I kinda sorta feel for Regina.

The writers did a great job making her a sympathetic character this season, something that seemed impossible last season.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I invited her. *dead*

Snow's face though and Regina's and okay everyone's.

  4. LOL at Leroy grabbing a knife!

  5. very funny clip, esta chistosa esta escena xd

  6. I don't know why! LOL! Maybe he just thinks she is still undeserving. He's looking after Henry for a reason. Just because someone is "instrumental" doesn't mean they don't have their own angle or are trust worthy.

Personally though, I will be looking forward to a Charming back story, because I think he has some skeletons in the closet...

    ReplyDelete
  7. He's looking after Henry because Regina's being nice.

    ReplyDelete
  8. He work with Regina because of Emma and Snow...and because of Henry.

Henry is too the reason for Emma had invited Regina

    ReplyDelete
  9. Uh, yeah. I already know that. That's why I mentioned it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Probably because he - along with everyone else who isn't Emma- wasn't expecting her to show up. Just because he's been working with Regina for works doesn't mean he trusts her.

And Charming is doing more than baby-sitting, tbh.

    ReplyDelete
  11. LOL, that was great.

And will people now stop complaining that Regina wasn't invited to dinner when she's barely given people any reason to trust her? She cursed an entire fucking land just to get back at one person (who was a child and manipulated), kidnapped, raped, and murdered people, and at the very least, emotionally abused Henry. I like that she's trying to redeem herself, but I have no sympathy for Regina.

    ReplyDelete
  12. You're kinda missing what's happening in the scene and what I'm saying.

The last month or so Charming has been working in very close quarters with Regina. To the point that they were actually sleeping in the same room. His reaction would make sense if his only interactions with Regina were the ones you described. But they aren't. At this point, his reaction should be more like "Hmm, why is Regina here? That's weird." Not "OMG EVIL QUEEN!!11!"

    ReplyDelete
  13. And for God's sake! Why Charming keeps calling Mary Margaret instead of Snow? I was disappointed

    ReplyDelete
  14. He is Henry's grandfather. He took care of him for weeks, and the Charmings are most likely going to have custody of Henry, at least for now anyway.

Which is a good thing, I believe, because Regina isn't the best person to be raising Henry. (I like a scenario where Regina and the Charmings have joint custody, actually.)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I do like that Emma is trying to redeem her villainous actions as well, that's true.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Maybe you should go back to e01ep02 - "They already think I'm nothing." When Regina shows up at the wedding, she basically takes a GOOD look around and tells EVERYONE that she is going to curse them. So there's that.

Also, if my arch enemy actually risked her life so that I can come through a portal after all.... I might stop to think. Not because she's suddenly a good person now but it would shock the hell out of me enough to question why.

But anyway, I think it's okay not to have sympathy for Regina. I also think it's okay though to disapprove of things that the good guys do.

    ReplyDelete
  17. God, this. He actually fell asleep by Henry's bed with Regina just a few feet away. He asked her to prove that she wanted to redeem herself and she complied with his condition ("to answer his question"), she called HIM when Henry needed saving and they actually had actual conversations instead of fight to the death with each other. But in this sneak peek... all of it seems gone. I am not at all surprised about Snow's reaction, in fact I think it makes PERFECT sense. But Charming? Charming acts like he had been in FTL right along with Snow and Emma.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I actually don't agree with you there. Sorry. None of us are sure if the adoption is even actually legal because Gold arranged it.

Also, Regina made Henry think he was crazy about the curse and sent him to therapy when she knew very well that he was right, didn't care that she hurt him in her quest to take down Emma, raped Graham, kidnapped and murdered him and many others, left him alone (Which Charming did too, so can't count that against her), and other horrifying actions that I either can't remember or we don't know about yet.

Emma? Sure, she might have made him an accessory to breaking and entering and she stole stuff when she was younger, but I think she and the Charmings are the better option for Henry in the long run.

And that's the way I feel about it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. So it's okay that she cursed them because she told everyone that she was going to?

And yes, it's a good thing she helped and they may question why, but one right doesn't right all those wrongs she's committed.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Nah, I meant she didn't curse everyone just because of Snow. I never said it's right - it's just not only reason, and I feel if one wants to get to the bottom of her character (either to like / sympathize with / hate her), it's good to have a clear view.

And once again, I'm in agreement. One right won't make up for all the wrongs. But if you want to make up for something, you do have to start somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes he certainly over reacted on his part, considering how much time they just spent together their is no reason for it... it also didn't ring true in his voice,or it was a bad cut?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yup, I definitely agree with you in the last paragraph! Really hope she is able to redeem herself.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Didnt forget nothing nor the fact that Regina at the end of episode 2x01, She held, charming against wall. And Regina would kill Charming if Henry did not appear at the time
And then it was supposed to be a friends party. Regina hurt them all. She enter suddenly get a shock
Moreover Grumpy helped make the atmosphere more tense....He pulled the knife...

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think it's just habit, tbh. They've been using those names for so long that the Storybrooke names just slip out.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He would have been shocked if Gold walked through the door (or Hook or Cora or King George). Working with people doesn't equate to trust or like. That is a core group of people who have been together through a lot of battles, many against the queen. She's wrecked a lot of lives beyond those she outright killed. For her to even show up is pretty bad form. Do you frequent reunion parties of people who don't like you and that you grievously wronged very often? Two curses and one misguided protection detail account for 3 of the times they've been separated anyway. Stopping her attempt to kill Snow and Emma doesn't really "wipe the slate clean."

    ReplyDelete
  26. You are always against Charming ...lol..

    ReplyDelete
  27. He figured it was better to risk his own life than Henry's and we know he has tremendous faith in his own relationship triumphing. (It's noble and self righteous at the same time, but truth be told, their love does seem to conquer all in these universes...)

But is Regina being nice? Don't get me wrong I think she has made some nice efforts/gestures of good will, but those don't mean anything until those values stand the test of time. -And it kind of shows us that Charming isn't a complete idiot, because he is not just going to forget what Regina has done to them all. (not that it is all her fault. It surely isn't)

Regina has caused so much pain. She has a lot to make up for if she wants to prove herself to everyone (and not just Henry) IMO. Seemingly dealing with her mother might make this whole thing much more complicated, especially since Mr. Gold is leaving...

The other truth is we don't know why or how Gold was able to procure Henry in the first place? -And "why" and/or "if" it was Regina wanted/needed a child? On one hand clearly Mr. Gold wanted this so he could endues Emma to come and break the curse, but still there is a missing story here on Regina's behalf and/or on Gold's knowledge/relationship with the outside world...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah notice that too...Courts hate Charming lol

    ReplyDelete
  29. "But good work on the heads up, Emma."

Yeah, good on Emma for the invite and trying to make their situation work but she should have braced everyone for her arrival.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Maybe since she just saved Emma's and Snow's lives, they should cut her some slack. Especially since it almost cost her her own life. I'm not saying she should be welcomed with open arms, but really this response is so over the top.

Oh and if they are going to say ''We'll always find each other'' one more time, I'm going to toss my tv out the window. Gah.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They really need to stop with this saying. I'm beginning to dread scenes in which Charming has dialogue because there is an 80% chance he will find a way to squeeze it in again. It used to be cute when it was early season 1. But the writers are overdoing it. Very much so.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "Regina is the best person to be raising her own son, not them."

Yeah, except that she sometimes poisend him by mistake while she's try to kill his birth mother. Regina is not more Henrys mother than Emmas is. Regina raised him but the whole adoption isn't really legal because Regina isn't a legal person in our world.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That's the way I feel about it too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I cant't wait to see how Emma and David interacts with each other.

    ReplyDelete
  35. A drinking game? How did I not know of this! That would make some of the more unbearable parts of the show potentially more bearable!

    ReplyDelete
  36. OMG I love Charming but ENOUGH with the "I will always find you" thing! please! I can't believed how excited I am to see the rest of the scene! I'm so happy Emma invited her! I know some people think she doesn't belong there (and it's probably a bit true) but I don't care I love her and I'm happy for her! The "sorry I'm late" was so cute :D

    ReplyDelete
  37. I totally agree. My eyes roll every time.. At the end of the episode my head is usually hurting from that. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I guess he couldn't find his pickaxe

    ReplyDelete
  39. Exactly. I'm sorry, but Charming saw Regina on her most vulnerable moment, when she had Daniel back. If that is not enough for him to at least understand she is not going to murder anyone just because she feels like it, I don't know what is.

    ReplyDelete
  40. "Mary Margaret and I have a saying, that we will always find each other."
Oh God, you do? Hadn't even noticed!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Every time I hear that line, I think Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction screaming "Say it again! Say it! I dare you! I double-dare you!"

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well, sometimes you have to work with a person you don't trust and don't like because it's neccessary. But when this person suddenly breaks in your comfort zone it's a shock. Think about a cop who works with a criminal to solve another crime. I guess the cop would be shocked if the criminal suddenly comes to his next party.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "Regina is the best person to be raising her own son, not them."
I agree. Is her son, she was there all those years for him and Emma doesn't. Yes, she is the evil queen, but she never did anything for hurt him (not on purpose) and never abandoned him, like his biologic mother did.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Whether or not the adoption is legal doesn't make a difference anymore. Formalities don't erase ten years of a mother/son relationship. For Regina, Henry is her son. And for Henry, Regina is his mom. If everything that happened up to the end of season 1 didn't tear their emotional bond, the question of the legality of the adoption won't either.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Bet she brought her famous apple pie.

    ReplyDelete
  46. If only I knew her, I would invite her to every party I have.

    ReplyDelete
  47. FINALLY Regina gets an invite to something! It's about time! :D

Good Job Emma! Baby steps guys.

  49. Totallyaddicted0053 January 2013 at 06:19

agreed I felt bad for her too. She is trying to do better to bad from the promos it looks like it gets worse b/c this might be the scene that prompts Regina to magically throw emma across her lawn

    ReplyDelete
  50. Totallyaddicted0053 January 2013 at 06:20

lol yeah some warning woulda been nice and easier for Regina when she came and bonus! she cooked.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That would be overkill. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hahaha! :D Thanks for making my morning!

  53. Denisa Gumbírová3 January 2013 at 12:22

What if the bar scene hapenned after Regina used her powers on Emma. They could somehow figure their differences after and Emma just didn't inform her parents about that :) Then Charming would have to be suprised too.

    ReplyDelete
  54. But what does that have to do with his reaction? Notice how Ruby and Granny react. Charming's reaction is at a 10 when it should be more at a 5, minor shock and likely more confusion.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm not against Charming, I'm just confused by his reaction. That it doesn't make sense based on his relationship to Regina. Confusion would have been a much more appropriate choice in terms of acting because at this point he should not expect something bad from her but be confused about why she's there.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yes, that would make sense then. Although based on other sneak peeks I expect this happens much closer to the beginning and she uses her powers on Emma later.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yeah, she is being nice. Letting someone else look after her child when she doesn't have to is nice. The problem with 'better to risk his own life than Henry's' is actually a plothole based in either writer stupidity or character stupidity. Henry goes there when he goes to sleep anyway. So he's not really saving Henry anything, because the next time Henry goes to sleep he should end up there, even if he's not there by magically induced sleep. In terms of getting the plot moving forward it makes sense Charming went in to make sure he was there at the same time as Snow but it doesn't really do anything other than make the plot more convenient. And even with his 'faith' there was still a huge risk.

So Emma birthing him means more than Regina raising him for a decade? I mean, if we're basing it on legality, Emma is literally nobody to Henry and has no rights to him at all, even if Regina's adoption isn't legal. Though I doubt it can be that considering the position Emma was in when she gave birth to Henry.

The only problem with Gold procuring Henry to break the curse is that he didn't remember anything about his prior life before he heard Emma's name in the pilot. So him getting Henry, without crossing the line, would have been extremely difficult. At this point I'm imagining we're going to see August playing a role there and somehow giving Henry to Gold and telling him that the child needs to go to Regina. Gold shows up and pops a baby in her arms and since Regina has always wanted children she falls in love with him immediately. And then the throwaway line from "7:15am" about August looking vaguely familiar to Regina suddenly makes sense because she saw him in town before (because let's be real, there is no possible way that she either knows that some random ginger kid from FTL escaped the curse and grew up to look completely different)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Actually she is more Henry's mother than Emma. She raised him for ten years. That makes her more his mother because she's actually BEEN his mother. But the logic that she's not a legal person is confusing because we have Kathryn being accepted to law school, which wouldn't happen if she wasn't a legal citizen of the US.

    ReplyDelete
  59. See, is this what I don't get. Whenever people say that Regina tried to 'murder' Emma even though we have actual canonical proof that she DOESN'T want to murder Emma because she thinks that it will break the curse. I mean, they flat out say it in the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  60. ...But what does like or trust have to do with the amount of his shock? He's at a 10 and he shouldn't be. Ruby and Granny barely react at all, just kind of go "Oh, that's strange" and look suspicious but they're not overly shocked. He was literally sleeping beside her so he shouldn't be even close to as shocked if Hook or Cora walked through the door. And I actually would find it really stupid if he was shocked if George or Gold walked in because, again he's been working with Gold so confusion would have been better. And for George, it should be more anger.

The shock he's displaying matched when she crashed their wedding, not her entering a public diner in a town she lives in and has been wandering around in freely. It made sense for Snow to react that way in this scene but not Charming.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm pretty sure they were having a private party--as evidenced by people bringing food dishes.

The shock wasn't that she existed, but that she was "crashing" their party.

    ReplyDelete
  62. My point is that she is doing this for validation and approval. There is no garentee that she doesn't have some kind of a plan to get her son back, which could result death of the others...If HENRY wouldn't have found her and convinced her to stop what she and gold where doing with the portal, they would have been dead or lost forever. Regina still has issues. We can't really say she is a good person who isn't borderline to who she has been in more recant times.

Emma does have rights. My mom adopted a little girl before she adopted me and she had her for two years, while the girls biological mother was in REHAB...the judge after 2 years changed his mind and took the girl away from my mother and placed her back with her biological mother.

Additionally I have great empathy for people who feel like they can't be good parent to a child and need to put them up for adoption. -But in this case Emma learns she made a big mistake, because Regina isn't a good mother. She provides for him, but she doesn't really know how to love him, because her revenge and malice have mattered more to her. If it wouldn't have, Regina would have never wanted to do this to Snow, a child who made a mistake...and condemn a whole reality full of people and their upcoming descendants to a cursed life, where especially for Emma, Snow, and Henry is life full of pain and deception, all because Regina can't face the real root of her own problems: Cora and Rumple...

I think considering we know August has been playing course corrector (under who's orders is a bit of a mystery), it's hard to blame Emma for feeling like she couldn't be a good mother, because all she experiences is loss and disconnect. It doesn't make her a bad person. She never treated Henry bad and to be honest (thinking of LOST) here, we don't know for sure if there is yet another influence that pushed her to believe that adoption was the best choice...(hence the Gold procure)

    ReplyDelete
  63. That's exactly why I've never been able to connect to Emma. The idea that she made a mistake and then forces herself into someone else's family because she feels like she's 'ready' now is really abhorrent.

I do think that no matter what happened to Regina they would have still ended up in the same place though, just because of the way Rumple manufactured everything from Cora and Regina to Emma.

Emma believing adoption was the best choice makes sense because of her situation though. Underage teenager in juvy and with only a car.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yep my mom had a full fledged adoption (she went through several long processes to adopt, including helping another child who was in foster care) and the judge changed the ruling 2 years later.

Emma was willing to walk away and even share Henry in season 1, but Regina wasn't, because again Regina doesn't know how to really love anymore, because otherwise she would know how to, or at least be willing to share. She killed Graham because he was remembering and because she was so jealous. Emma stayed because she feared for Henry. -And look what happened, Henry was accidentally poisoned...(which was also partially Emma's fault because she just couldn't believe him)

I whole heartedly agree with your second paragraph because when it gets down to it, we peel back this other layer or generation, we see the infliction of pain, and Rumples game plans, keep going further and further back...

As regards to the last part. I agree we have enough info for it to be understandable, but I am open to the idea that there might be more 'course correcting' going on through out many parts of Emma's life, and perhaps not just by August...

    ReplyDelete
  65. Am I the only one who finds it weird that Charming keeps calling Snow Mary Margret?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Because David is the one who worked with Regina, not Granny or Ruby. He is the one who is shocked that she's suddenly so close to his private life. That's not was he had expected.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think Regina's point of not wanting to share is valid because she shouldn't HAVE to. Emma clearly didn't fear for Henry THAT much because she didn't do anything about it. She didn't contact any authorities, she didn't do a single thing that might actually make Henry's situation genuinely and situate herself in Henry's life in an actual parental way rather than as an 'fun aunt'.

I actually HATE the idea of course correcting and August's role in it because it's bullshit. It's either 'fate' or not. If it's fate, it happens anyway without someone like August pulling the strings. You can't use the words destiny and fate and then try to MAKE things happen because those things are mutually exclusive. Henry and Emma could have found their way to Storybrooke together, August could have befriended them, any number of things could have happened without attempting to destroy Emma. If you have to manipulate it into happening, it's not fate. I mean, you can say that it was fate for August to manipulate in such a way to create a situation like that but the whole idea behind the notion of fate is that even if you change the variables, the end result is the same.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Huh? That should make THEM more shocked and him LESS shocked. Because Regina has actually been intimately involved in his private life up until, you know, that day and will continue to be as long as he continues to want a relationship with Henry.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Fate in evolutionary terms is hard to understand because it relies on the truths of a macro cosmic evolution which is both that cycles repeat and that there is a set of dynamics and that eventually cycles break into new cycles, therefor "uncertainty principal" holds true, because we can not "always" predict when or how a process changes. When a variable, variable set, or variable sets is/are going to have more sway than another variables, or when a constant is no longer constant.

Because even a person playing course corrector might be destined to, because FATE relies on getting to a certain outcome or goal at some unkown point. And if doing all of these seemingly paradoxical actions (karma) is what it takes to get "there" (macro/micro Dharma), then that is what it takes to get "there". Every variable can play a role and can come to believe in roles from the beliefs of other variables, but the idea is that cosmic truth is BIGGER than anyone of us, and therefor fate is about getting to "a destination" by means of an interrelated and accumulated series of events...and that reason in the immediate life time is just an explanation of how and not necessarily ever the whole truth.

Even outside the world of science fiction or fantasy science is the learning/the study of the physical mechanics of life, which we learn new things all the time. -And sometimes the things we thought were true before become false, or only true in certain situations, because we still don't fully understand. We are not fully prepared.

As for Emma, I don't think that is fair statement. She could have just left Henry behind and went on her way, but Graham died and Henry was acting so obsessed (in her view), and seeing how politically motivated Regina behaved made her realize that even though she didn't believe Henry, she knew this situation was bad news for him. So she stayed to keep an eye on him. And we also have an Archie factor. IMO opinion her instincts were good, despite not believing, and her son wanted her to be the Hero, he believed she was. And by staying, she gave him the best wish a boy could have, a mothers love. She broke the curse and saved them.

    ReplyDelete
  70. That's one of my problems with the show. That they kept maintaining that Emma's love is the only "mother's" love when Henry already HAD a mother's love. When that is COMPLETELY untrue. Regina loved him completely and wholly. Just because she's not good at showing it in the Charming family way doesn't make it any less true.

    ReplyDelete
  71. That's your opinion, but plenty of people do not believe that Regina acted lovingly towards Henry or taught Henry good values, because Regina's goal was about hurting others, not love.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Except that she very clearly LOVED him. Just because he is too young to recognize it doesn't make it any less true.

On the other hand, you can't really say she didn't teach him good values because obviously she did. I mean, he didn't grow up in a vacuum. On the grounds of respect, I'm not really quite sure what 'respecting' a ten year old looks like because she didn't really treat him any differently than anyone else did.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ok. I'll try this differently Perhaps she loves him "deep down", but her actions prior to this up and coming season show someone who doesn't care about loving her son, as much as hurting others. Her passion lied in manipulation and deceit not compassion, acceptance, or understanding., which IMO are important traits to have if you want to be a good parent/guardian.

Regina killing Graham and knowing her son would be exposed to "death" is cold. If she truly loved Henry "then", she wouldn't want to expose him to loss that she knows can be a heavy burden, but Regina is LOST and wasn't operating under notions of love, but revenge and jealousy out of her own fears. I am not blaming Regina, because in the past, we've seen her be loving, innocent, and romantic. I have event hought that there are various kinds of magic and that the book's magic is darker and perhaps has a physiological effect.

Respecting another person is not lying to them about really important things, not making them feel sociopathic, alienated, and repressed when they are not, and not denying him a happy future of his choice, simply because you care about ruining the lives of people that "might" have been his future, hadn't you ruined. She keeps taking away happiness from people to satisfy her own ego.

No she has a chance to be the better person that maybe she thought or hoped she could be.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I have empathy for her, because I think underneath, Regina has a good heart. She was a better person once, and that her more modern personas came by pain and manipulation of others (Cora, Rumple, and the book), but I agree that she has inflicted so much pain unfairly onto these other people, the Charming family in particular, that proving herself and trying to change will take time and/or a great sacrifice.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The issue with that, however, is that while it was cold that she killed Graham, she also needed to protect her secret, that he clearly was remembering. Because she can't be a good mother to Henry if she's dead, which is what would and nearly did happen when the curse broke.

I also can't agree that her passion is hurting other and that she cared more about that, when her love for Henry was what motivated so many of her actions. And that's not her passion either, because those are survival skills, a means to an end.

Another problem is that Regina didn't make Henry feel sociopathic because that is not an adequate descriptor. On the other hand, what was her other choice? Her entire adoption of Henry doesn't make sense (and lends credence to the idea that she didn't actively seek to adopt and was instead 'gifted' with him) because he would grow and notice these things. Her only other choice would have been to tell him and and then what? Her confessing things to him rather than send him to therapy would have achieved nothing because he would still be the crazy kid with the book. He actually STILL is the crazy kid with the book because he clings to it without understanding, spewing all these cliches as if they mean something.

    ReplyDelete

IMO these are not the actions of someone who deserves to be mother. If she protected herself because of her motherhood, it's BECAUSE SHE NEEDS to be a mother to feel JUSTIFIED for the fact that she HURT others and sought to ruin their lives...to prove she wasn't going to be her mother, which to some degree is what she had started to become.

A curse can [eventually] be a blessing in disguise, but it takes a long time to unfold for something bad to become something good. In the long run that IMO is what the curse will be, but in the short long it was a malicious act that is going to take time to remedy...if Regina is a good person and good mother, she wouldn't need to change.

  77. If anything, I think that Charming is surprised that Regina would willingly show up at an event that she knows Snow will be at.

  78. Let's hope that's the case and not the writers ignoring all the development that had happened between them while Emma and Snow's been away. I really hope he recovers quickly and maybe even offers some kind of gesture or at least calms Snow or something... anything would do at this point.

  80. But now Snow and Emma are back and Regina in the same room with Snow is something that David worries very much.

  81. I like Regina so much and I'm glad that Emma has invited her, I hope it's for a good reason. I almost cried at the end of the last episode when everyone went for a drink and nobody invited her, not even Henry.

  82. I know it's wrong, but I found it somewhat hilariously inappropriate, and yet oddly sweet, that Regina cooked, and thought that people would trust her enough to not be alarmed at her presence. She's gotta know that peeps are gonna be, at the very least, questioning what's in that casserole dish. I mean, the last baked good she made, put her own son in the sleeping curse, albeit by accident. In fact, I'm pretty sure she's never been known to offer food NOT laced with poison...HA! Still, bravo to Once & the actress for convincingly making Regina sympathetic this season. No small feat for trying to rehab "The Evil Queen".

  83. Regina is secretly an awkward dork and bakes her feelings. lol

  84. "if Regina is a good person and good mother, she wouldn't need to change"

I can't even come close to granting this premise just because it's completely fallacious. Emma also needs to change so by your logic she must be a bad person and a bad mother because if she NEEDS to change than she can't be good. Regina adjusting the way she relates to Henry in order to better suit his needs doesn't mean she's a 'bad' mother by any means, it just means that he is old enough to verbalize his own wants and needs to her and she is learning enough to know that good parenting means accommodating those needs. Those kind of constant adjustments are what humanity and parenthood are about because it's a steady stream of constant change. I assume it's supposed to be ironic that if Henry had actually just communicated with Regina to start with a lot of the things that happened in the first season could have been avoided.

Also, I find anything that uses the term "deserves to be a mother" extremely suspect, especially when used in relation to a non-biological parent and then deconstructs why she wants a child as an inherently selfish action. It's very common to frame women who either can't biologically bear their own child or who aren't in a situation where that is possible are somehow frame as "less than". Whereas women who, say, get pregnant and have a baby in jail while an underage teenager, are viewed as somehow more worthy and more natural to the role of parent simply because they were able to give birth. Where you think she "deserves" it or not, she IS his mother and loves him. Those are both incontrovertible truths within the canon of the show.

  85. I never said Emma didn't need to change, but the difference is Emma doesn't have a life time of experiences that Regina does

This writers are following suit with a lot of Bad Robot shows, especially LOST, with the idea that non of them are important and crazy situations often arise from miscommunication, misunderstandings, harboring lies and secrets, and not asking enough questions about information they recieve. That is what makes the characters SO good (even when they do bad things), because they are delicioiusly flawed. You can disapprove of Charming's reactions and Emma's lack of experience in cetain areas all you want. That's how "you" see them, but I can see something else, because that it how "I" see them, same for Regina or any other character. There's not one character I don't like or am not interested in. I'm done defending my opinion.
