Mixology - Bar Comedy Gets Pilot Order from ABC

ABC has given a pilot order to Mixology, a single-camera comedy pilot from feature writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover, The Change-Up) and ABC Studios. Set in the world of a sexy Manhattan bar, the high-concept comedy chronicles the exploits of singles in search of love– all over the course of one night. ABC landed Mixology in a competitive situation, giving the project a put pilot commitment in October. Mixology joins ABC comedy pilots How the F Am I Normal and Trophy Wife.

    It looks nice. But I hope that ABC will order a new season of Happy Endings...

    A lot of words in there make me anxious.... "high concept" and "put pilot commitment" being at the top of that list. Not saying it can't be good, but when the network starts with undeniably high expectations they chances are it's to be let down, so even if the show might be good it could be doomed if the hype doesn't translate for corporate accordingly.
