  1. Seems alot of fans are outraged about Mike Tyson. Seeing I'm not from or in the States I've only read the 'headlines' about him over the years - boxing, jail for rape, converted to islam, some more boxing, the death of his daughter - and I guess I wouldn't really want to associate with him privately. And I think he's bipolar too right? Not 100% about that though.
The only thing I got to say really about him being on SVU is that I saw him in The Hangover and that was some seriously bad acting, although I'm not sure he really was acting more playing himself. So I'm curious how he landed this gig and wonder how he'll pull this off. I won't boycott SVU or anything though.

  2. Fans are angry b/c he raped someone and the fact that he ended up on this show. The haters who once were fans, are going way too far and saying that they won't watch SVU anymore, blaming Mariska who has nothing to do with casting at all. I'm sure she wasn't thrilled to have him on there either, but she still has to act professional.
Victims do watch SVU, they surely do not want a rapist on the show. Even though tyson did his time in jail for what he did 20 years ago. It was wrong for them to cast him, but a lot of people on twitter are just going way too far, and using this to put down the show more.
There are people who are looking forward to be seeing tyson on here. I'm not too pleased at all mself, but It doesn't mean SVU is bad or that I won't be watching it. It's just one episode, a lot of shows have people on whom had done things in the past. Life goes on, people quickly forget about that episode.
I understand for the victims who watch SVU, but it's no excuse to put the show down. One doesn't like it one has the power to turn the channel. It's the more mature thing, than to rant over and over.

  3. Thanks Joanna. Yeah I've see the outrage on Twitter but I also saw Warrens reply/statements. I guess he made some sense to me but I can also see victims don't see it his way. I guess it would be somewhat helpful if Tyson, and any rapist really, could own up to what they've done but as far as I know Tyson has declined talking about his crime at all. Converting to Islam isn't really "good enough", maybe even the opposite seeing how they suppress women. Okay I won't go any further cause I know that last statement from me might start an other outrage but it's my - and mine alone - views on that faith and the brief contacts I've had with it.
I'll watch and hopefully Tyson's apperance on the show can highlight the important matter of rape even more than what SVU's already done up to date.

  4. I don't think Tyson's guest appearance will highlight the important matter of rape.. The ratings might be low b/c of the fact there are so many people who are against seeing him in this episode
