Welcome to SpoilerTV's weekly edition of Fringe Friday!

THE BOY MUST LIVE
The penultimate Fringe Friday brings us back together as fans in the wake of a tragic loss, and before the final battle of the Fringe team is waged

So, Nina Sharp, everyone. Nina Sharp.

I don't know that a character's death has made me physically look away from my television in such a way in a very long time. Her unbelievable sting at the "lizard brained" observers before resisting sharing the vital information she had in her mind by pulling a fast one and killing herself was one of the most incredibly raw things ever witnessed in this show. It proves that they really aren't playing around here, folks. We're about to take a plunge into the dark and dangerous final 3 hours of Fringe and I'm almost certain it's going to hurt.

Another revelation is the matching of Donald to September...I can't wait to see how exactly that works, and how they can finally pull the reigns together on this plan and rid our world of the observers for good.

"The Boy Must Live" has been one of the most important phrases in this series and I'd bet it's going to gain a whole new dimension of meaning tonight. I think that this episode is the one we've all been waiting for -- the beginning of the end. The fact that they're proposing time travel is hopeful but from what we've heard behind the scenes something big looms in the final 2 hours next week that really worries me.

What do you think, fellow Fringies? We're running out of time here. We're almost done...it's almost over...and it always felt as though this could be the 1 show on tv that would make sense to stretch to 8 seasons...

Today's topic: What's your favorite (Is that even a correct use of the word "favorite?") death scene from the 5 seasons of Fringe?

Let us know your thoughts below in the comments! HAPPY FRINGE FRIDAY, FOLKS!

  4. Hey Wilson! I would have to say Nina's death.Etta's death was to shocking, to sad but not unexpected. Peter taking out the Tech from the Observer effectively killing him was pretty sweet actually, whereas Nina killing herself, wow that was intense!

After all these years of not quite knowing where Nina stood,in the end she gave her life for the people she loved, cared, about and knew they had the best chance of defeating the Observers..She couldn't hold off Windmark for much longer and although we don't know what Michael showed her i believe he showed her another life,a life where she will be reunited with Walter,Peter,Olivia and Astrid one day...soon.

  5. Although I think Henrietta's death remains important and vital to Peter's and Olivia's final story arcs, I'm going to go with Nina's death as the favorite, or the one that effects me as a viewer most.

For one thing, this is one of the first times where we see Nina act exceptionally motherly on all fronts. She helps Walter, Peter, and Olivia with Michael, leaves Walter with a positive belief in himself, and hides and protects Michael from Windmark.

Additionally given at what also comes with Michael at the end of the episode with Walter's memories, I can only assume he gave Nina some memories too! Possibly memories of a new future and/or a realization to life eternal, as I believe Michael (and some other Observers like August) tap into the collective conscience (all realities - memory) and goes hand in hand with the following Walter explains in "Os" about soul energy: A person's consciousness... their soul is energy. And energy cannot be created or destroyed. No matter where Belly's consciousness is, the harmonic vibrations emanating from this bell will draw it forth from whatever vessel he chose before --" It adds both a spiritual and mythological aspect that I think is also important.

And Lastly, Nina showing a more motherly side, but also not flinching when confronting Windmark and taking her own life, another bullet that saved the world, I think greatly reflects another realization for Olivia and I think could be a motivating factor in her final arc.
