  1. I hope we get a DVD release of the complete series, please give us that :( Alphas cancelled last week, now Don't Trust the Bitch. Fringe has ended, Breaking Bad, 30 Rock, The Office, Spartacus all end this year. Community, Happy Endings, Ben and Kate, Parks all at risks of cancellation. Next TV season is pretty grim for me.

  5. It's also possible that Dexter will be ending this summer. My tv lineup is looking grim.

  6. Aww man. This sucks. I hope they'll at least do a DVD release like they did for Charlie's Angels (2011)

  7. I just hope they give us the final eight episodes at SOME point. I don't care when, I just don't want the possibility of them floating in dead air until kingdom come.

  8. It would be ok if new shows were replacing them but mostly they either suck or get cancelled :(

  10. My guess is they will air in summer or not at all. Sad. I only watched the first season, but it had great potential.

  11. the ratings were bad so it was expected, i liked the show but I knew this day was going to come. Now Happy Endings, that is hard to say whether or not ABC will keep it.

  12. As un-shocking as the news might be, it's still sad... :(

  13. Oh a COMPLETE series DVD release would be great!
And then there is the option of burning out the rest of the episodes in the summer...

  14. Oh god, this show was so snarky and wonderful! I don't follow news or spoilers for comedies at all, so this totally took me by surprise, i didn't know it was struggling. I took hope they release the DVDs. Waaaaah.

  15. kind of a bummer. I hope someone decides to give James Van Der Beek his own sitcom. He was the most watchable element for me.

  17. I don't think any petition will help :DD I like this series (loved the 1st season!) and I was hoping that ABC at least show us the remaining episodes... well, they don't :-/

  18. I liked Chloe more (well, rather Krysten :D ). She was my favourite charachter, then Luther ;-)

  21. I truly love Don't Trust the B----- in Apartment 23, so now I'm sad, but it wasn't unexpected.

Don't Trust the B---- joins Better Off Ted in the graveyard of original comedies that were too smart for ABC and so crappily scheduled that it could only lead to cancellation. Both of them got 2 seasons / 26 episodes though, so I guess we should be thankful for that (I could also mention Miss Guided, a short-lived ABC comedy starring Judy Greer, it wasn't as fun as the two previously mentioned but still, it was great).

The cast was perfect, whether it's Dreama Walker (btw, for a completely different (but equally good) performance from her, watch Compliance), Krysten Ritter (in a totally different role from Breaking Bad, for sure) or JVDB (playing a fictionalized version of oneself is always a bold move and it paid off, he was hilarious). But all the other suporting players were fantastic, first and foremost Luther.

The plots were usually well-crafted, and the humor dared to be different (JVDB as himself, among other things you don't see on many other sitcoms), so of course it wasn't mainstream (I doubt families would gather in masses to watch the show, unlike Modern Family). But if it had been scheduled better, with more promotion and IN ORDER, perhaps things would have turned differently.

And yet Last Man Standing, The Neighbors and Malibu Country are still on the air, with upcoming disasters Family Fools and How to Live with Your Parents joining them soon. Lame move, ABC, LAME.

I guess the 23 people who are part of the Nielsen ratings system preferred to watch The Biggest Loser.

I am looking forward to seeing the last 8 episodes of the show. And if you haven't started to watch Apt 23 yet, please do, and watch all 19 episodes in the intended order - I've rarely seen such a mess : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Don%27t_Trust_the_B----_in_Apartment_23_episodes . The original episode 1.08 is still missing though... (this is terrible programming, there is no other word).

EDIT : I guess it would be delusional to hope that another network (TBS ?) picked up the show, so I'm just going to savor the last 8 episodes when they arrive. I'm hoping for a burn-off on Saturdays, waiting for the summer would be annoying - unless it performs exceptionally well due to the lack of competition (right now those Tuesdays are packed with comedies everywhere) and then ABC changes its mind and commissions a third season, and releases DV-- hell, BDs with the eps in the proper order - nope, delusional after all ^^).

  22. This sucks hard! The show was very funny, a refreshing break in the week! James Van Der Beek always stole the show, I hope we get to see him (as himself, in all his hilarious glory) in something else soon.
