    Personally, I'm shocked. I thought it would be 50.

    The only question I really want answered is this really the finally season. The producers have implied it but unfortunately they keep hinting it's really up to the network. I just want someone to officially say "The final season."

    i was hoping for 16 episodes so iut would make it to 100 episode milestone but either way i'm happy season 8 is the last cause i don't think they can drag it out any longer with how season 7 ended and i hate it when TV Series are dragged out longer then they need to be and the quality declines i can name a few shows where this happened such as lost, Smallville, etc. and i want dexter to end while it's still strong in quality

    Okay...All Showtime 1 hour dramas get 12 episode orders. Not sure why some people would think otherwise.

    There were several rumours about an extended longer season due to filming starting earlier than usual.
