  2. Call me close minded, but I refuse to feel excited for another portrayal of DaVinci where he doesn't get any gay lovin'

I will probably watch tho. *sigh*

  3. A Spartacus door closes, a Da Vinci door opens.

  4. I don't know.... Spartacus was/is a fairly serious show, and rightfully so.

I don't think trying to portray DaVinci as some kind of action hero warrants the same approach.... I think this is going to be closer to the Xena/Hercules genre...

  5. Why is everyone so fixated on that? Records indicate that Da Vinci was charged with sodomy along with three others but was later acquitted. It's not like no one has ever been charged with something they did not do. That being said, this is a trailer, not the entire series. I think they will cover all the myths and legends and stories surrounding Da Vinci and I'm sure his sexuality will be explored as well. David S Goyer has himself said the show is 80-85% fact and rest is historical fantasy. They have to do that because there are huge chunks of his life that are unaccounted for and thousands of his journal pages have been lost over the years. This show is, in part, speculative, just like our theories about his sexuality. No one knows for sure. So, if you are a fan of Da Vinci like I am, I suggest you give it a chance and watch a couple of episodes before deciding it's not exciting because there isn't any gay lovin' in the trailer.

  6. It's much simpler than that, I just prefer a fictionalization of DaVinci's life to tickle my fancy. There are not enough gay or bi leads on tv, and this would have been a golden opportunity since it's accepted as a possibility, and it's not like this show is striving for "keeping it real"
