TBS's Cougar Town scored solid deliveries among the network's target demos last night, drawing more than 1.3 million adults 18-49 and 613,000 adults 18-34 in Live + Same Day. The season opener also welcomed a total of 2.2 million viewers < /b>as it launched in its new network home.

Cougar Town – which stars Courteney Cox, Brian Van Holt, Christa Miller, Ian Gomez, Josh Hopkins, Busy Philipps and Dan Byrd – airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on TBS. The series follows a family of friends who keep things funny as they support each other through the challenges and pitfalls of life – with a little dysfunction and a whole lot of wine.

Cougar Town was co-created by executive producer Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Spin City) and consulting producer Kevin Biegel (Scrubs). Showrunner Ric Swartzlander, Courteney Cox and David Arquette also serve as executive producers. Cougar Town comes to TBS from ABC Studios.

  1. Yay, I'm so glad it did well on TBS! I was hoping it would, but I was still a little worried.

  3. How is that compared to TBS's other regular programming? Anyone know how many episodes/seasons they ordered? Hope it continues to do well!

  4. We don't have any ratings for TBS shows I'm afraid. You can try wikipedia or tvbythenumbers

All known episodes for S4 are here http://stvplus.com/show/41/Cougartown#episodes

  5. They have ordered two seasons with 15 eps each. TBS do have the option to cancel it after one season but unless the ratings go really low I imagine they won't.

Despite promising lots of Courteney Cox cleavage, Cougar Town delivered 2.2 million viewers for its TBS premiere last night, with 1.3 million adults 18-49. That’s not bad. But by comparison, last year’s Sullivan and Sons debuted to 2.5 million viewers and Men at Work debuted to 2.6 million viewers — and those didn’t have Cougar Town‘s broad awareness after running for three years on ABC, or a star like Cox to help promote the show. Basically this number is within TBS’ ballpark, certainly, but you’d expect this show to deliver more viewers.
