CBS orders Comedy based on "Bad Teacher" to Pilot

24 Jan 2013

CBS is hot for teacher — Bad Teacher, that is. The network has ordered a comedy pilot based on the 2011 big-screen black comedy of the same name starring Cameron Diaz.

Happy Endings writer Hilary Winston will write the single-camera laugher about on a foul-mouthed divorcee who becomes a teacher to find her next husband. Winston will executive-produce with the film's scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinsky, as well as Sam Hansen and Jimmy Miller.

  1. Not the worst premise to make a trashy comedy. I approve.

It will probably be crap, though. I mean, it's more of a movie narrative, and It didn't went all that good as such. But still, I kinda want a comedy with an unsympathetic female protagonist.

  2. what's up with the epidemic of loosely adapting movies into tv series lately?

What's next? American Pie the Series?

  3. If they are adapting movies into tv shows at least make them half-decent movies. Anger Management, Bad Teacher... they're forgettable films for a reason

  8. I bet Eugene Levy would be the neighbor giving sex advice to all the kids in the neighborhood.

  9. Not sure about a comedy based on that stupid film but a comedy based on teachers might work, it did in the UK.
