  1. Well TSLOTAT is already ending so not really needed in the poll.... maybe even HIMYM
    i will go with 90210

  2. Finally a poll that Castle won't win :)

  3. For me 2 come to mind , both on USA Network, Burn Notice and Psych.

I watch both and enjoy them, but neither seems to be going anywhere. Each season seems to be an exercise in futility and it is becoming repetitive to me. Especially Burn Notice since I have watched it as it airs every year. Psych I take breaks from and catch up in marathons when I'm in the mood so it does not bother me as much...

IT really seems like there is no endgame in sight for either show and they are just continuing because the network is finding some level of success with the two series and feels they can go in circles as long as ratings hold up.

Frankly I felt the same way about a number of shows I already stopped watching due to their repetitive nature and lack of any real depth of story like Castle, Leverage, Mentalist, and NCIS.

  4. I'll go with HIMYM which is now boring and Grey's Anatomy, cause I think everything is screwed up!

    ReplyDelete
  5. So many should have ended seasons ago though I suspect this will result in me gets lots of thumbs down, most are tired procedurals or are past their best.

With shows like SOA or Southland though its not as evident as they have short seasons so less eps but really I would love to see all the CSI type shows gone just to see networks be forced to try something different.

  6. ur absolutely right :) probably the 1st i have seen since i've been on the site :P

    ReplyDelete
  7. u are more than right ;)

  8. as much as I love Bones... it's time to end it. Grey's should have ended seasons ago. And Army Wives ... it gets more and more ***

    ReplyDelete
  9. HIMYM, Bones and CSI:NY

    ReplyDelete
  10. Most of these I don't watch anyway, but went with Burn Notice, it has gone down hill fast since they put Jessy on the show. Another I used to love is Bones, but there is just so much cluelessness from her I can take. Also picked Psych, have tried to get interested in that show many times, but I am not into men that want to act like little boys. CSI should have stopped when Grissom left. Leverage has gotten boring and trying to be PC..ugh. I watch TV to be entertainment not to be preached to. ;)

  11. Grey's Anatomy is really played out. Just put all the good couples back together and get Izzie back for Alex.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bones, Grey's, HIMYM, Supernatural & Criminal Minds.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I hardly watch any of the shows on this list, but I guess if I had to choose, The Simpsons has LONG overstayed its welcome. Supernatural is enjoyable from time to time. SOA should end whenever Kurt Sutter decides, this is one show that should be under complete control of the showrunner and not the network (and thankfully, for as far as I know, it is).

  14. 90210 is the best teen drama!

  16. CSI las vegas? Are you all people who voted on csi las vegas out of your minds? This show is amazing and still gives a lot of money to CBS. It wont end.

    ReplyDelete
  17. all these comedy shows should've stopped in the first season. All of them suck!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love CSI, but the two that still exist are totally burned out. I have lost interest in them. CSI: Miami had some really good storylines before they cancelled it, Vegas and NY don't. Also, all the 'comedy' shows. They are not comedy. They are pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  19. From the shows that I watch or watched, I think HIMYM, Army Wives and Supernatural should end (especially Army Wives as it has become really s**t)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Definitely not "Southland"! The show will have only completed 43 episodes by the end of its fifth season. I just started watching about a month ago and really digging it. Sharp writing, brilliant cast, grounded and moving stories.
Voted for "90210", "How I Met Your Mother" and "Grey's Anatomy" as well as the original "CSI" -- time for that one to retire...

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would have to disagree about CSI LV.Ever since Ted Danson came on board this show found its footing and new life.He has revived this show, could go for at least another season as long as he is in it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I can tell you the ones i would keep its a shorter list. Southland, Grey's, NCIS and 1 more season of Castle, and CSI LV. All the rest could end,get cancelled what ever.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree 100% this show is what really made CBS shine brighter than all the others

    ReplyDelete
  24. I swear this the only time CSI is ever being talked about is being tooken off. For once I wish they had people talking positive feedback.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Look at my response to Lena Archerman.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lots of the shows I watch (well, not up to date yet for Weeds, Mad Men and Tremé, but I will, soon) are about to end :

Have ended : Weeds, Damages and Boss.

Will end within two months : 30 Rock (January 31) and Fringe (February 1).

Will end in 2013 : Spartacus (March), The Office (May), The Big C (Spring), Breaking Bad (Summer), Tremé (Autumn) and Dexter (December).

Will end in 2014 : Cougar Town (likely), Mad Men and Sons of Anarchy (very likely).

With that said, that leaves 2 dramas series for me (as I don't watch Psych & Burn Notice yet) : Southland and True Blood, and frankly I'm not in a hurry to see any of them stop.

I definitely do not want It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (renewed for season 9, contracts signed for a possible 10th season), Parks & Rec and the animated shows (Futurama, American Dad, Family Guy) to stop anytime soon either.

I want Larry David to come back with a ninth season of Curb your Enthusiasm, one of my favorite comedy series.

TBBT isn't exactly must-see TV for me, it doesn't have any depth nor does it has a long-running common thread (the mother in HIMYM), there's no evolution in this show, therefore there's no need to have it end, as long as the jokes keep being funny, and they kind of are.

And so I voted Californication and How I Met Your Mother. Both of them go in circle and will not really go anywhere until their series finale have been set, so in order to move towards that I hope CBS will soon let the HIMYM writers know season 8 is the last one, let's not drag this out any longer, it had a great run. As for Californication, season 6 must be written entirely already, and since there has been no announcement, I guess I'll just have to hope season 7 will be the last one. I like Californication, it's fun, the cast and the dialogs are great, but come on, they don't have anything to say, how much back-and-forth can there be by between in Hank & Karen's relationship ?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Surely not Castle...too much to tell over the next 5 years.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I agree - I've loved Ted Danson on CSI! I started watching weekly when Lawrence Fishborne (sp?) was on and didn't like those episodes as much as the reruns with Bill Peterson. So I was a little glad when LF left. CSI: LV could go on for at least one more season now.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Have to agree about CSI.

It may not be groundbreaking anymore after however many seasons it has been on, but it a very well done and polished show. On top of that the new cast members have really brought a fresh feeling to the series and revived it like you said.

Honestly, I prefer to watch CSI to almost every network TV procedural because for the most part the show is about the cases, not the characters. Most procedurals get annoying and old to me when they spend too much time on the characters personal lives and idiosyncrasies.

With CSI you know 99% of each episode will be about the cases with very little screen time dealing with the team's personal lives.

  30. Funny enough that its the first poll 90210 had been the one with most votes, and then it is not even a good thing....it is actually kind of bad, congrats 9021ohhhh

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes,me too! the early episodes with W.Peterson was good, but when they gave the part to Lawrence Fishburne the show tanked.I like him, but he just didn't do anything for me and i stopped watching.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I still really enjoy HIMYM, but it's my top pick because it needs to end as soon as possible for story reasons.

I kind of feel like voting for Supernatural because the past 3 seasons (including this one) have been really weak and just keep hurting the show's continuity and mythology, but I do believe that there's a slim possibility that the show could still turn it around, so I hate to vouch for its cancellation when it could still get good again and ending it now would be to end it on a poor note.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Seriously? This poll is stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  34. While HIMYM has been declining in quality I still enjoy it, but I do feel it should end this season, unless a 9th season means we get to know who the mother is. Then Supernatural which has waned heavily in quality since Season 5.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well it's a bit pointless because the fans can always stop watching if they think that a show is going in a direction that they don't like. It happened to me with the X-Files. I stopped watching after season 7, because I didn't like what they were doing to my favorite show. The last two seasons didn't ruin it for me, they simply don't exist in my world. Same with Star Wars. I never even watched the second or third prequel.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Of the shows listed that I watch, I won't mind if this is the last season of How I Met Your Mother. As many have pointed out, the timeline for Ted meeting the mother and having the kids be teens in 2030 is starting to align. I do enjoy it but at the same time, I won't be upset if it ends next May like I will the other shows. Not sure I'm ready for The Big Bang Theory and all my crime dramas to end :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. As much as I love The Mentalist, I think the 6th season needs to be it's last.
Grey's Anatomy is still occasionally funny but it's not what it used to be.
How I Met Your Mother needs to end before I stop watching it. It's become more of an obligation to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It just felt a little dark to me with LF. Probably because of the whole story/hunt with Nate Haskell. (to me, anyway, that felt darker than the current state of the Jane/Red John chase on The Mentalist.)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I will say Glee even though dont fit the criteria, but the point is they dont need a 4th season they have reuined the show

    ReplyDelete
  40. It was! At least LF dealt with Haskell, when will Red John ever come to light. With the time change i haven't seen a full episode of TM and to tell you the truth i don't miss it.I'll catch up on day,but i got really tired of waiting.

    ReplyDelete
  41. All of the above

    ReplyDelete
  42. I went with CSI:NY, 90210, L&O:SVU, The Mentalist and Supernatural, some because they're struggling in the ratings and some because they're struggling in compelling storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  43. HIMYM - For the story that never seems to end O_O those children will be in their 30s...
SPN - Because the longer it goes on the less likely a decisive and strong end will come about...
    Grey's Anatomy - Because I don't like it. :P

    ReplyDelete
  44. Supernatural has a number of years of things they can still do. I don't believe they should even be on this list. I chose Family Guy because I seriously detest the show. lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. I agree with you I'm tired of CBS doing Procedurals in there Drama Procedural I want them to try something new and go outside there comfort zone

    ReplyDelete
  46. I vote 90210 the show's not what it used to be

    ReplyDelete
  47. I disagree about supernatural I still think it is a great quality show and I think it has improved from seasons 6 and 7

    ReplyDelete
  48. But if I where the CW I would announce this season of Nikita as the last and cancel it this year cause it has terrible ratings and it would also give the writers enough time to write a series finale

    ReplyDelete
  49. 90210, it's the only show I've ever been able to stop watching

    ReplyDelete
  50. The RJ reveal will probably be one of those series finale things, since that's been Jane's reason to stay with the CBI since before the pilot. We're getting closer with each RJ-centric episode this season. The last one a few weeks ago dropped a major bomb about RJ's connection to Jane.

    ReplyDelete
  51. 90210, HIMYM, Grey's and Bones.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh sure, now make me want to watch! Ha! I'll catch up probably over xmas hiatus.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. That's how i felt about SPN two summers ago.I never thought any show could or would knock it off its perch..

    ReplyDelete
  54. Only because you haven't been here long enough. It use to be Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ya i know
    its just been 5 months....

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh,and i thought it was longer! Wait, this Castle perch isn't over yet, wait till we have the winter polls, then next summers Best Series of 2011/2012,you might want to bang your head up against a wall before all is said and done. :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. the first poll i saw... castle was wining.... it was best series finale poll this year
since then castle has not lost 1 poll i think so :P
i was here for the Series Comp this year

    ReplyDelete
  58. Agreed. Write it so that they leave all questions answered.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think it was great week to week during Seasons 1-5. Then Season 6 had either hit or miss episodes, Season 7... well the only episodes I enjoyed were the first 2, Death's Door, and any that had Mark Pellegrino, and Season 8 has been average, very middle of the road with no great or terrible episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I really wanted an "all of the above" option on this poll. Burn Notice is the only show left on this list that I still watch and I really wouldn't shed a tear if it got canceled.

    ReplyDelete
  61. finish all procedural cop shows. And you want to know why? Because I hate procedural cop shows. There's like 300 on television, they're all the freaking same, it's like 'oh... a plane crashed here.' Oh shut up!

    ReplyDelete
  62. youre missing "two and a half men" and "gossip girl"

    ReplyDelete
  63. Not missing anything, these are the shows that the person who submitted them selected.

Also Gossip Girl is ending this season anyway :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think The Mentalist and Bones have become boring and some what ridiculous! I started watching Castle this year and actually enjoy that show! I love Criminal Minds and CSI NY!

    ReplyDelete
  65. NCIS or Bones - The character arcs seems to have been explored.
The procedural episodes are like that of any other series.

    That's just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ask me at this time next year and I will say Castle. 7 seasons should be enough for a procedural show to still maintain its quality and go out with a bang. Right now? I say How I met your mother. It's funny as hell, sure, but is dragged out for too long, man!

    ReplyDelete
  67. constanza pernigotti11 December 2012 at 03:49

Castle, HIMYM, TBBT,. The last two are obvious. And Castle needs to end before it starts to get bad. That way it'll become the best show ever with no ups and downs. Only ups.

    ReplyDelete
  68. What I hated with LF's character is he always seemed to put either Haskell of Jekyl case into the mix.
For instance the episode "Family Affair" ok sure that discovery of the bowyie thing happened a few cases ago but keep it our of the current case.

    ReplyDelete
  69. How I Met Your Mother needs to end already! And please, please cancel 90210!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Californication, How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy. Those are WAY past their expiration date. Also a case could be made for both Supernatural and Burn Notice.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I completely agree. I adored seasons 1 through 5, and "Swan Song" is my absolute favourite episode. As tragic of an episode it was, it would have made, in my opinion, a great series finale (minus, obviously, the cliffhanger). I didn't find season 6 or 7 all that compelling, despite a few good episodes, and I've stopped watching now. It's just not the same to me anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  72. oh god sooooo many:

Army Wives Bones Burn Notice Californication Castle Criminal Minds CSI: Las Vegas CSI: New York Law and Order : SVU Leverage NCIS Psych Southland Supernatural The Mentalist

    ReplyDelete
  73. Swan Song is also my favorite ep, but would have HATED it as a finale, Sam in Hell, Dean crushed..no I would have still been crying. lol That to me was the worse beating I have seen on TV and the look on Dean's face after Sam is gone and he is so bloody and totally crushed, just no.

My favorite season is 4, loved the Angel/Cas/Demon arc, but season 8 may catch up with it, have loved all the eps, except Bitten which I will never watch again.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Grey's Anatomy was played out by the end of season two....

    ReplyDelete
  75. Maybe after season 3 or four, but yeah, pretty much really early on...

    ReplyDelete
  76. I like Burn Notice and Jesse, but what I don't like is the dark direction the show has taken. Michael isn't a hero anymore, he's definitely a villain. It's really hard to root for him now, so based on that, I think Burn Notice should be canceled.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Once Izzy killed Denny Duchette (or whatever his name was) and faced nothing more than suspension for it--and then inherited his fortune--I was pretty much done. She should have gone to prison.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I shouldn't even reply to this, but for me, Izzie was the best part of GA. I stopped watching when she left and I am sure Alex can't be happy without her. I agree, that the Denny storyline was bad, but her character was great. She had the most interesting background of them all, except for maybe Mer.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I liked her character a lot, until that story line, where, for me, they pretty much irredeemably destroyed her.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I just ignore that part in mind and say, that the writers made a mistake ^^
