Some of these the books came first so maybe poll should be which show made from a comic book. Anyway since Supernatural is my favorite series I voted for it.
The Arrow nomination is confusing...have hey done a new comic based on the seires or are they referring to the comic that existed before the series. :-)
There are the prequel ones which co-written with Robert Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Michael Johnson and who's "A" stories tell us about the 1970's when William Bell approaches and meets Walter and their early, including time travel to Nazi Germany adventures together!
The second series Tales of the Fringe have "A" stories that give a back story for each main cast with Nina's and Astrid's being my favorites.
Then there is Beyond the Fringe where there is first a 3-comic cannon ark titled, "Peter and the Machine" which continues missing scenes from "The Day We Died" and better explains that Peter experienced another Peter's memories when he was in the machine and how many Peter's being apart of the many "First Peoples", have gone back in time and dismantled the machine parts through out time over and over in several iterations of the time line. September shows up and tries to encourage him to choose a different path than all the times before, "Balance". It's fantastic not just because of the art work, and not just because explains something super complicated in an easy way, but because Joshua Jackson wrote it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The rest of the Beyond the Fringe includes "alternate realities" that give deeper insights into season four and the identities of our characters! There is called "The Adventures of the Pattern" where Peter is Batman-esque super hero "The Pattern"! And another where we meet a blue universe Peter and Olivia's cortexiphan abilities son, Trevor!
It was SO nice to have these to be able to add onto one of my favorite television series of all time!
I agree. I haven't been able to look at other shows' comics more thoroughly, but Fringe comics are not only resourceful tales with much more information about main characters, but they are funny and interesting to read, especially "B" stories!
The moment I saw Ghost Whisperer on the poll, I voted for it but then I saw Buffy/Angel and now I'm so confused... Both the Buffy/Angel continuations are unbelievably awesome but Ghost Whisperer remains the first show I obsessed about, so...
I know about them but haven't bought any except the one that came with S4 DVD. As soon I have some $ to spare I will have to get them. Everything Fringe is worth spending money on :)
I do not like comics but I have read the first Supernatural set and thought it was pretty good so my vote went to them. I have also read a couple Buffy ones.
My vote's Buffy, Supernatural if I had two, but I wanted to point out that Castle has two graphic novels. They're not continuations of the series but still written by Richard Castle.
I personaly love Josh Jacksons' stories and how they fit within the show, but I'm with you on "B" stories - they are awesome, especially for fans of the show!
For some reason Beyond The Fringe isn't there. Originally they were digital only, until this past fall where they released them in print, in one collection here on Amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Fringe-Beyond-Joshua-Jackson/dp/1401237983/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1357054817&sr=8-2&keywords=beyond+the+fringe

ReplyDeleteNot a comic book reader, so I couldn't say.
ReplyDeleteMy vote's Buffy, Supernatural if I had two, but I wanted to point out that Castle has two graphic novels. They're not continuations of the series but still written by Richard Castle.

ReplyDeleteI would have voted for Fringe but it wasn't an option.
No, but I noticed when I was at amazon the other day (I expected the date to change again, because I suspect it will include finale-related stuff...)
ReplyDeleteAngel - for the "After the Fall" comics, and then Buffy for all of the "Season 8" issues
ReplyDeleteYep,i think so too.I don't mind, let them take as long as needed if it means we'll get more stories, info, pics or whatever they want to add!
