  1. Sorry, no. Klaus and humanity just doesn't go together. There is no light in him.
    I don't believe it, sorry.
Sure she can try and play him. But he plays her too. He's just pretending to be all sweet and charming.

  2. I think there is SOME humanity in him. But I agree that he is playing her too. I think he just doesn't want to be alone and have companionship. I think in a weird way Caroline reminds him of someone before he turned.Just my opinion though.

  3. Humanity in Klaus? What makes you think that? In 2 complete seasons with him I haven't seen anything that would show the smallest sparkle of light or humanity in him. Oh, no, wait. There is one situation. In the 1920's he left Stefan behind. Stefan had a chance to build up a life for him. Before Klaus showed up and destroyed it.

I gave Klaus the advice before, but that was last season, so to remind him: If he doesn't want to be alone, he shouldn't hunt, terrorize and kill his own family and every living being that crosses his path.

If he want's someone in his life (that is not compelled or sired), he has to work on it. Relationships are giving and taking. He want's everyone to worship him, do his every bidding, … That's not how it works. That is the reason he wants his hybrid slaves. They are his slaves, unable to leave or betray him. Well, now they can …

  4. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he has a heart of gold. He has a lot of psychological issues. Probably caused by his "father" and the stuff you have to go through being a vampire and all the killing. Over 1000 years of it will desensitize you. He just does it with much less thought than say Elijah or Rebeccah.

He has double standards. He doesn't want to be to blame for anything wrong he does instead he blames it on whoever else. His confrontation with Mikael showed his human side. I think he is a bit more human than you think, even if he is mostly the bad parts. I agree with you that he is going about this the wrong way entirely though. You can't force true loyalty and admiration. Even if you are the most powerful thing on earth.

  5. Oh, please. My father sucks too. No matter what I do, it's never good enough, no matter what I say, it's always wrong. If I need anything, it's always why and how, … My entire family sucks, and I'm not a sociopathic mass murderer. "It's my father's fault, he never loved me" is a poor excuse you use in court.

Elijah is a good point. He's 1000 years old, just like Klaus (and unlike the others he didn't spend several centuries daggered in a coffin) and he's not a sociopathic mass murderer. I would dare to say he is a decent guy.
Double standards? Yes, that's one thing. The other is, that he, even after 1000 years, didn't get, that actions have consequences. Always. He kills innocent people and wonders why the others want to kill him? He is enslaving hybrids and wonder that they want to break the bond? What is he, 5 years old?

Damn, Mikael. How could I forget that? It was priceless!!! Human side? Possible. It was a nice small reality check.

Let me tell you a little secret. For a while in S3 I hoped he would have a good side, and Caroline would see it and encourage it, brig it out and help him change. Like Elena did with Damon. But then, of course, that bastard does something and ruins it. So, I gave up. I began to doubt that there is anything good in him. We don't even know if there was good in him while he was human.

  6. Yes but it's not just Mikael being a sucky father. He was trying to kill his children or at least Klaus for a long while. Your father hasn't been trying to kill you for centuries I'm guessing. So it's a tad different. It just seems like that's part of it. Not all of it of course.

It's interesting you mention that. All of the Originals have Achilles heels. All of them have a bit of "child" in them so to speak. Elijah is loyal but naive to people when they promise him something. But he does have maturity about him. Klaus CAN be like a child. It's the throwing temper tantrum. Kol is a playground bully of sorts(given, a psycho one). Rebeccah is a girl who keeps being fooled about love/gets used. Finn is a mamma's boy.

Anyway it's not that Klaus doesn't KNOW his actions have consequences it's that he doesn't think that his actions should stop people from being loyal to him and being around him. Double standards.

See, I am glad they went this route. It keeps Klaus hype to make sense. Klaus was said to be this scary dude who would mess your entire life up if you ever pissed him off. Damon was that "bad boy with the heart of gold". Klaus is pretty much set in his ways. He has 1000 years of being this mass murdering crazy guy. I doubt Caroline could just change him like that. It wouldn't make sense and it would be a bit too...fairy tale-ish.

  7. Call me stupid and naïve, but wasn't it Klaus that started the killing? He did kill his mother, didn't he? And other innocent people probably too.
You're absolutely right. Elijah is naïve. He believed Klaus when he told him to reunite him with his siblings (let's ignore here the fact, that he really did, just not the way Elijah thought). Klaus is a child. If something doesn't go as he plans it, he begins to rage like a 3 years old that doesn't get his favorite candy. There isn't enough known about Kol and Finn, but you're probably right. Especially about mamas favorite, Finn. Becca is an interesting case. Sometimes you see in her the young girl that is desperate for attention, love and affection. Don't ask me why she's looking for it with Klaus. Maybe they were close as humans. And when he became the psycho mass murderer he is, she was too afraid to leave him, knowing, what he did to the others. Sometimes she is just this psycho bitch, not caring for anyone or anything but herself. She spend too much time with Klaus.
"It's not that Klaus doesn't KNOW his actions have consequences" You're right. He knows. He just doesn't care. He probably believes that he is a God sorts off. I would so much like (no, LOVE) to shove a stake thru his dead hart, just to prove him, that he is not immortal. No matter, how much he likes to believe it.

I agree that it would totally ruin Klaus character if he became good. Or let's say better. And that is my problem. They can't change him. But they won't let him go either. They're keeping him just to keep him. And while they do, the show can't evolve, the story can't go on. We're running in circles, patterns are repeating. It will ruin the show. From 3 ½ season we spend 2 on Klaus. Remember S3. It was getting so boring and annoying: Klaus shows up, kills innocent people, the gang makes a plan to kill him, they fail. That pattern was repeating over the entire S3. Either they change Klaus big time, or they let him go for good. I love the show. But I won't wait till S6 or S7 (if the show lives that long under that conditions) to get rid of Klaus. And I guess I'm not the only one. Some fans already left the show.

  8. Oh yes. I agree with that. I think they are keeping Klaus around because of purely antagonist reasons. Who else is there to be the bad guy? Kol maybe and I really would like to learn more about him anyway. Silas will probably be the one who knocks Klaus off his high horse when he does come in to play. But see I don't want Klaus to go, I want to see him being this badass he is constantly described as. Having witches and other vampires coming in to do his bidding and such. Not sure if you've ever watched the show Merlin on the BBC, but they could do something like that. Only within a VD context. I mean surely there are other witches and such wanting to down vampires.

That would take the focus off Klaus directly. He doesn't need Stefan or Damon at all. I mean realistically. I wouldn't mind if he stepped out of Mystic Falls like Kathrine for awhile. Even though I love Joseph Morgan's acting. I agree S3 was not as good as the first 2 though.

  9. Purely antagonist reasons? They could get rid of Klaus and replace him. Of course it wouldn't be easy. Klaus is a great character and Joseph is just brilliant. I'm not saying they should kill him. He could leave now and return at the end of the season. Meanwhile we have Silas and the hunters. And think of the books. Have you read them? We meet the Kitzune, several demons in the dark Dimension. Besides, shouldn't the writers be paid for, you know, making up stories? And another thought: maybe there was something planned for Secret Circle they can recycle for TVD.

No, I never watched Marlin, sorry. Did you watched Buffy or Angel? They had some good shit too. Invincible mayors, fallen gods, prehistorical demons, apocalypse, …
